Speaker 1 (00:00):
Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window six point five, Las
Vegas' Best Variety of the eighties, nineties and today. Joanna,
you really these days with AI everywhere, you just have
to be not I want to say cynical, but a
little skeptical of everything you read on this Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I read some stat that said in twenty twenty five
AI scam surged by one forty eight percent year over year,
So who knows what.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
It's going to be this year, right That's a that's
a troubling number right there, and also completely believable because
I was actually personally myself sucked into an AI fraud,
which I first I just assumed was real because I
was I wanted to get mad at corporations for a
quick second. What happened, Well, there's this post that went viral.
It was from Reddit, and there's this place where people

(00:46):
do like confessions, and someone in this message board had
claimed to be a back end developable developer for a
very well known food delivery app Okay, and they were
trying to be like a whistleblower, and they alleged that
this company was keep one hundred percent of priority fees
and they were assigning desperation scores to deny high paying

(01:06):
orders to cast strapped drivers, meaning like if a driver
logs in at ten pm and accepts every garbage three
dollars order instantly without hesitation, that tags them as high desperation, right.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Aha.

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Interesting.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
So they were like blowing the whole case open when
it came to like food delivery apps, and I was like, yeah,
this is why I don't use them, and you know,
I felt so justified in my anger. Right sure, but
they's just we've talked about clickbait in the past, right,
there's a lot of it, and how we gravitate towards
things that align was something that we already kind of believe, right, yep. Well,

(01:41):
it turns out that apparently that entire post was written
by by Google's Gemini AI. Wasn't real, Wow, And here
I was sharing it on Instagram, you know, like, and
I have I have been trying so hard, Joanna to
not be that guy that shares things without double checking, right,
and I'm completely guilty of having.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Done that now.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Yeah, I mean AI is used for everything, right.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
So it's like these advanced tools that these criminals and
scammers now have access to, Like it's pretty advanced stuff,
so they're.

Speaker 4 (02:13):
Taking it to the next level.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Yeah, so just be be wary out there and trying
not to raise your fist and anger as I didn't
agree with everything that you see out there because it
confirms something that you already kind of believe. Coming up
after seven, we're going to tackle the topic here on drivers,
many of whom you see around Vegas, on whether or
not they should really be on the road. Should there

(02:35):
be an age requirement or limit when it comes to
well being on the road.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
I think a lot of people are going to have
opinions about this.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
We'll get into that after seven. On sunny Son, SI.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Sell me what it was six point five.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
It's Joanna and Sean and I know all of us,
especially here in Las Vegas, have said to ourselves, man,
that person should not be on the roads.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
There's a lot of interesting drivers out there, isn't there?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
There are?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
And I'm going to tell you it's not limited to
any specific age range. Like I know that we have
licenses in place, right you need to be sixteen. But
I'm seeing even kids in my neighborhood on like mini
bikes like I know, and these they are like twelve
years old. On main roads and I know and I
know that's they technically should not be there, like that's right,

(03:25):
not the issue I guess that we're talking about here.
But there's also other people that are maybe on the
upper end of the demographic that we see out there.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
You're like, I don't even know if they can see
it with this story wheel.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Yeah, it's tough.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
And you know, us being such a commuter community, right,
we get people from all over, all ages, all backgrounds,
and it could be scary and a.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Lot of people retiring here like that. That is a
big retirement city for a lot of people. Right, So
should there be an age requirement on driving? An age limit?
Now there's seven oh two seven nine six one oh
six five Brook, Thanks for joining us this morning. What
are you thoughts here? You're going to take the license
out of someone's hands.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
I think if someone can drive, they can drive. So
you know, at the thirteen year old is good at
driving and he can see over the steering wheel enough,
and you know he proves it and passes the test,
and why not.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
Thirty?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I mean, listen, I know that there are some people
that play video games and they are good drivers that way,
but I don't know about the actual roadways.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Girl, you're saying a thirteen year old should be able
to drive? Is that what I'm hearing here?

Speaker 5 (04:31):
Yep?

Speaker 3 (04:33):
I don't know. I don't know about all that.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
What about when they get to you know, ninety eight,
ninety nine hundred years old?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
What about that?

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Well, then if they can't drive, they.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Have to stop.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Okay, there's there's a moment of reasonability here. It sounds
like pretty much dig for it.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, yeah, broke, you're saying like age is just a number, right, Yep, girl,
I don't know that. I don't know if we agree
with that this money thirteen, I don't know about that.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
No, And get them off the dirt bike and stuff
too in my neighborhood, off those main roads. Seven oh two,
seven nine six, one oh six five uh. Coming up
next to our Sunny Story of the Day, Joanna, what
you got well?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
One Las Vegas spot has been quietly changing lives for
nearly a decade, and now it's about to do even more.
We'll tell you where kindness is never stopping.

Speaker 4 (05:18):
Coming up in your Sunny Story of the Day.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
That's next Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
On Sunny one o six point five.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Here's a little moment of kindness in a busy world.
It's your sunny story of the day.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
We love a little local feel good in the morning, Joanna,
what's happening, Yes.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
We do.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
I think a lot of us, even some of us
who have lived here for a really long time, probably
don't know that Las Vegas has a main campus homeless
shelter and it's called the Courtyard.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Now.

Speaker 4 (05:45):
They've been in service now for nearly.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
A decade, but they're not slowing down anytime soon now.
They opened in twenty seventeen and the Courtyard now today
serves about eight hundred people every single debt.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Wow, it's a lot of people.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
Yeah, it is, and it's open twenty four to seven now.
Guests can go come and go freely from the Courtyard.
But the facility has everything for them, showers, laundry, mental
health service, group therapy, and even kennels for their pets,
which helps remove that barrier for those seeking help who
have animals.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
That's huge, just a lot of different services.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
It really is.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Now. The city has invested eleven million dollars to help
keep those services running, which is so important. Plus adding
things like security and behavioral health services as well. So
just a lot of incredible services that I think a
lot of us just are not familiar with, that is
offered in the heart of our community. And it's only growing,

(06:45):
which is, you know, unfortunate, an unfortunate thing, but at
least the.

Speaker 1 (06:48):
Services are there, basic needs are being ba there, and
it's just good to see their compassion is also being
backed by action.

Speaker 4 (06:55):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
Now they are in need of volunteers right now.

Speaker 4 (07:00):
You're looking for, you.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Know, an opportunity to volunteer and give back. Just head
to Sunny Windows six five dot com click on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (07:06):
Mornings and you could read more there.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
And that's today's Sunny Story of the day.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Now let's find out why.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Jenny is feeling excited this morning.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
Good morning, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Well, today is my one year anniversary of fully giving
up soda. Nice, very very nice.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I know it's it's not an easy thing to give
up before that, so the.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Big deal, Yeah it is.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
So it is addictive, right, yeah, it certainly can be.

Speaker 5 (07:34):
Thank you so much. You're right.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah, I guess all you can do now is just
you know, stick with it, and I'll tell you giving
up anything and even one. Giving a one thing is.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Hard to do exactly exactly.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Well, Jenny, look you have a great day. Thanks for
listening this morning.

Speaker 5 (07:50):
Thank you so much. Sonny one of.

Speaker 3 (07:52):
Six point.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window six
point five Las Vegas is best Variety of the eighties,
nineties and today and of course an iHeartRadio station if
you missed it, Today is day one you can start
voting for, of course our iHeartRadio Music Awards, and those
are going to be back at Dolby Theater in La
on Thursday, March twenty sixth.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Yeah, airing on Fox.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
And some really fun categories to start voting on, like
favorite TikTok Dance. I think everyone has an opinion on that,
best Lyrics, Best music video.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
And more.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
I like the category favorite Debut Album, so like Alex Warren,
we play that song ordinary here. His debut album was
called to Think You're Gonna Be Alright, Kid, but amazing
album and I just love how fan involved and focused.
The iHeartRadio Music Awards are every year, so you can
vote right now iHeartRadio dot com slash Awards and you

(08:50):
can apparently vote up to one hundred times per category
per day, so you can start getting those thumbs busy
and getting that voting in there. Now, we got your U.
What is it? The Joe and the No Report here
coming up next, Joanna. What's going on?

Speaker 2 (09:04):
Well, we're going to talk about some very exciting albums
that are dropping, plus also some royal headlines.

Speaker 4 (09:11):
You don't want to miss that. Your Joe and the
No Report, and it's coming up.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny
one oh six point five.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
What to watch, where to go? And what everyone's talking about?

Speaker 4 (09:23):
Here we go.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Joe in the know, everything happening everywhere, Joanna knows about it.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Well, let's talk about Hell's Kitchen since we have one
right here in Las Vegas, but I'm talking about the
TV show on Fox Now. Chef Gordon Ramsey is definitely
pushing contestants this season on the newest Hell's Kitchen that
just kicked off, and the challenge that they'll be facing
over the season is that they have to create gourmet
meals on a shoestring budget.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
So I try to do that every day.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
I's gonna say, sounds like half of America, right, So
that's going to be Actually, I think a really.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Fun season toil my heart dogs in sparkling water. That's
what I do, right.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
I feel like this season of House Kitchen is actually relatable,
so I'm excited to watch it now.

Speaker 4 (10:07):
Over a music news, Billboard.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Just dropped its updated twenty twenty six album release calendar,
and it's packed with star power. Now they are projecting
some of the biggest albums on the first quarter of
the year, one of those being Hillary Duff's big comeback
album in February. And I don't know if you've seen
this on social media, but some of the lyrics with
some of her new songs are very spicy.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Well, look, she's grown up a lot and she's a
whole new person that I think she was when everyone
fell in love with Hillary Duffs.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
I mean she was a Disney star, wasn't she.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
I see Hillary Dog, I mean, I'm all.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
For it, right and then I'll Bets is also dropping
new tracks in March, which will be masses of course. Now,
Royal headlines are buzzing right now, looks like Prince Harry
has officially won his legal battle to restore armed security.

Speaker 4 (10:54):
In the UK.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Now, I don't know if you remember this, but when
he moved to the United States, they took.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
That right away away from him, you know, for being
one of the most rich, wealthiest families on the planet.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
They're very petty, aren't they.

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Oh yeah, so much royal drama. It never ends.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
And of course the pressure is always on Kate Middleton.
Now she just has made her first twenty twenty six
public appearance. I feel like anytime she's now in making
public appearances, the spotlight is on her. But it was
actually a surprise visit to a hospital to meet the
staff and also to thank some of the frontline heroes,
which I think is really cool.

Speaker 1 (11:30):
I mean, I know she's been fighting that cancer battle
in the background too, so nice to see her out
doing some good.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Absolutely, and that's your entertainment report this morning.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
You're Joe in the no SNY.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Do you think there should be age limits to driving?

Speaker 4 (11:47):
We want to hear from you this morning.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Seven oh two seven nine six one six five.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
It's Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 2 (11:53):
And you know me, Sean, I've I've openly admitted that
I am not the best driver. So I think as
I get older, make me, make me.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Take the driver's license test.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Again, I think it's the right thing to do as
we age.

Speaker 1 (12:05):
First of all, Joanna, kudos for being self aware. There's
a lot of people that won't admit that they're bad drivers.
Swear up and down. No, you can't say that I'm
an amazing driver, although I think most people do think
that they're a great driver. Now as far as they're
being age limits, we all look, yes, you got to
be sixteen to get a license.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
I think a lot of that comes down to enforcement too,
Like there's we got thirteen twelve year olds that are
on motorcycles in my neighborhood, tearing up like they're on qualify.

Speaker 3 (12:33):
What are you doing out here?

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Right?

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Yeah, it's scary honestly.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
And then on speaking of scary, on the other end
of the spectrum, people are kind of like losing their faculties,
but like there's nothing stopping them from getting behind the wheel, right.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
I know.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
That's why I think, like you just have to maybe
test more regularly after a certain age point.

Speaker 4 (12:52):
Yeah, that I think that would help, right.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
That could be a solution.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Melodies on the line, What do you think should there
be age restrictions on driving?

Speaker 5 (13:00):
Yes, not too young and not too old, Yes, I think,
cause you know, you get older eyes get that, So
I think eighty seventy five eighty. I think you need
to be You have to go in for your regular
test for your driver's license and they have to check

(13:20):
your eyes like.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Yeah, those those drivers test and then like health checks, eyes,
brain all that.

Speaker 1 (13:26):
Yeah, this is not like this is like the first
bit of reason like we've had on the show here yet,
like this actually makes sense.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
You're got to get things checked out exactly. They're in
the fast lane going thirty and you want to be mad,
but then.

Speaker 5 (13:39):
You know, you want to be compassionate. I hope that
they're okay, but you know, I also have to get
to work.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Yeah, and you want to get to work safely and
get home to your kids safely. So there's a lot
of factors there.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Look, it's not it's not just kids that are texting
and driving. I've seen older people just as much with
their phone, like right in front of their face, right, Mellennie, Right, Oh.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
Not on Facebook and driving. Yeah, don't do that.

Speaker 3 (14:05):
Thank thank you for the call, Melanie, Thank you.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
Coming up next to our sunny story of the day, Joanna,
what is happening well?

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Imagine a place where hope has a home in our community,
and even for your four legged friends too well. There
actually is a local gem that we want to highlight,
and all those details.

Speaker 4 (14:22):
Are coming up next in today's Sunny Story of the.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
Day Wake Up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean
on Sonny one.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I was six point five, Sonny when it was six
point five.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Lots of major announcements this morning, one of them being
our iHeartRadio Music Awards coming back March twenty six, And
the best thing about this is this is the award
show for fans and voting is officially open.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
There are a ton of different categories you can vote
for right now, but also a lot of names you
can recognize. Some of the biggest names out there for
Iheartbrating Music Awards this year Taylor Swift obviously on that list,
Sabrina carbon to up and comer Alex Warren, whose song
Ordinary has been a major hit.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
We've played that here on Sonny Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Names like Bad Bunny, Morgan walland Justin Bieber all up
for awards that you can vote on right now at
iHeartRadio dot com Slash Awards.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Yeah, and coming up, we're going commercial free, But another
major announcement we.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
Got to talk about.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
Yes, an artist we play here on Sunny announced a
tour that's gonna be at well Allegiant Stadium this year,
and we're gonna get you tickets before they even go
on sale. We'll tell you who it is and how
you're gonna win. Coming up next, as we go commercial
free on Sunny Window six point five.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
Sunny one O six point five Sunny Mornings.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
Right here on Sunny Window six point five, it's Joanna
and Sean. We are having a little debate this morning,
friendly one. But do you think everybody has an opinion
on this topic? Should there be age limits to driving?
And here in southern Nevada there's.

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Some crazy drivers, yes, and there's also people that are
not necessarily crazy. Doesn't have to be fast like you
can sure you could be sitting in the carpool lane
doing forty when everyone else is trying to get around you.
That is I think equally crazy. Seven oh two seven nine, six,
one oh six five. Should there be an age limit
on driving? NICKI in Henderson, what.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Do you think?

Speaker 5 (16:18):
I don't I mean, I hate, I don't want to
say like, oh yeah, there should be.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
An age limit on drivers, but like.

Speaker 5 (16:25):
You should definitely have to prove that you still have
the skills, because my grandma was driving at like ninety
and she was like a danger.

Speaker 4 (16:38):
Like everybody in.

Speaker 5 (16:39):
The family was like, I don't think she should be
on the road, but nobody was willing to say anything
to her because she was pretty strong. Well, but like
she pulled out onto the interstate and like immediately pulled
over because somebody else was coming up too fast.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
That's that's my way, yead Grandma's it seems like she's
a little sassy, definitely strong willed. So you're all for
the age limit and Nikki right, Oh.

Speaker 5 (17:06):
I'm just I'm just for like having to retest at.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
A certain age.

Speaker 5 (17:10):
I think you should just have to retest and if
you can't prove that your reflexes are still good, then yeah,
you know, yeah then maybe not.

Speaker 3 (17:18):
Yeah, so I.

Speaker 1 (17:20):
Could tune up you would do for your car, but
you know, for for the driver instead exactly. Yeah, if
your blinker's been on since like the Reagan administration, maybe
it's time, you know, to give up the license. Thank
you for the call, and Niggy, thanks all right, coming up,
we got oh tickets to.

Speaker 4 (17:36):
Win as Talkback for tickets.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
We've got New Kids on the Block tickets for you
and the chance to win a grand prize hitting side
stage to see the new Kids on the Block that's

Speaker 4 (18:02):

I was fortunate enough to be there on opening night.
They do such a great job and they really put
their all into every single song like they're there for
the fans for sure.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
You can feel it.

Speaker 2 (18:15):

Speaker 2 (18:56):
Yeah, and also this morning it was a now that
our iHeartRadio Music Awards is coming back this March, gonna
be broadcasted on Fox, and the fan voting has opened
up today and there's some really fun categories there are.

We're gonna tell you what some of those are and
how you can help your favorite artists win an iHeartRadio

Speaker 3 (19:17):
Coming up next.

Speaker 4 (19:18):
