Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sunny one oh six point five, Las Vegas's best variety
of the eighties, nineties, and today it's sean. How many
articles have come scrolling through your Facebook feed promoting Amazon Prime.
Right here are the thirty best fines on Prime Days
trying to get you to spend all your money. I
found what I think is the creepiest product of all time.
It is part phone case, part skin and completely weird.

(00:24):
It's I didn't know that I don't want it until
right now. This is right out of a sci fi nightmare.
It's called the skin Case. It's a phone case that
looks and feels like human skin. It even sunburns. It's
made from three D printed silicon with UV reactive pigments.
It darkens under the sun just like real skin. Uugh. Now,

(00:46):
as weird as it is, the company says there's a
good reason for it. They did this to get people
thinking about sun safety. So the idea is that if
you are seeing your phone get sunburned and it's making
you squirm, then you know, maybe you'll be a little
bit more vigilant with your own skin. Right So, I
don't know that I want this in my life. Frankly,
my phone gives me enough stress. I don't need to

(01:08):
see it sunburn in front of my eyes. Sonny one
of six point five. Coming up this morning, another chance
at one thousand dollars. You're gonna win some Beyonce tickets.
You're gonna win tickets to SeaWorld in sesame plays. You're
gonna win Paul McCartney tickets. Lots to win today, Sonny,
Sonny one of six point five. My name is Sean. Now,

(01:29):
if you are even a casual Elvis fan, this is
gonna be super fun. The Las Vegas Summer Tribute Festival
kicked off yesterday at the Westgate Resort. Now they do
this every year, and Elvis would have turned ninety this year,
so they're really going all out. You're gonna get celebrate
Elvis with live music, themed events and of course all

(01:49):
the flare you would expect from a Vegas party.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Right.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
It is celebrating the King's legendary residency with five days
of concerts, contests, and NonStop entertainment. You have to know
Elvis's history with the Westgate. It was originally called the
International Hotel. He performed six hundred and thirty six sold
out shows there between nineteen sixty nine in nineteen seventy six,
just becoming a huge part of the hotel's identity and legacy.

(02:15):
And there's going to be some of the best Elvis
tribute artists from all over the world hitting the same
stage that Elvis once played, competing in the images of
the King World Champion, World Championships, and gonna be some
past winners performing. Surely going to be a fun time.
And that runs through July thirteenth over at the Westgates.

(02:36):
He got through Sunday to take part in that fun
Coming up at six am, your first chance at one
thousand dollars with the Workday Payday. Right here on Sunday
Window six point five, you're listening to Sunny Mornings with
Joanna and Sean. I'm Sunny one oh six point five.
It is a feel good Friday on Sunny Windows six
point five. My name is Sean. It's also the last

(02:57):
day of Amazon Prime Days. I've been clicking around the
webs so much weird stuff on sale on Prime Day.
It's like a three foot shoehorn, or like a tupperware
specifically for a banana. It's just weird stuff. I don't know. Anyway,
if you've got some good news as always, let me know.
I'll get you on the show here. I guess i'll start.
I'm gonna be reunited with my family tomorrow. I've been
home alone for like the last week. We all went

(03:18):
on vacation back to Florida to see family. My wife
and kids stayed behind to get some extra family time.
So I've just been by myself for the last week.
And everyone at work was like, oh, look at you,
Bachelor Pad Living. I'm like, it's overrated, it's boring. It's
been a whole lot of Netflix. It is not all
it's cracked up. To be so excited to be back
with my family tomorrow. Let's go to Gabrielle. Gabrielle, what's

(03:40):
your good news today?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I accidentally Lewis stop sign miit it and there was
a cop right there waiting and I didn't get pulled
over and I did not get a ticket.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I mean that's a stroke of good luck right there.
Maybe maybe he was he could have been asleep or something.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Yeah, maybe he wasn't even I think there may not
have even been than the one in the car.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
Maybe, I mean entirely possible. Either way, I mean that
would have been a really big ticket for you.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
You know, Oh my god, I know, and I cannot
afford to get a ticket. I'm like, that was just
and it was a total accident. Normally I am more
conscientious driver. But there was also you know, there's nobody around,
so obviously it wasn't bad, i'd think, or there weren't pedestrians,
there weren't other cars, so it wasn't like, you know,
a big deal.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
But yeah, could have been could have been a lot worse.
Maybe you had some good karma coming back to you, praise.

Speaker 2 (04:29):
The universe or whatever.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Well, well, congrats on not getting the ticket. If you
had gotten a ticket, I have a chance at one
thousand dollars again. Come ou up here in a few minutes.
If you missed that keyword, I'll give it to you again.
Next on Sunny Sunny six point Sunny one oh six
point five, Las Vegas's best variety of the eighties nineties,
and today it's Sean. I am not trying to cut

(04:52):
your summer short or get you thinking about school too soon,
but look, the foster children in our community. They have
way more things to worry about in life than where
they're going to be getting their back to school supplies,
and Clark County Family Services has just kicked off their
back to school supply drive. It runs now through July
twenty fifth, and they are looking for things like notebooks, pencils, pens, folders, backpacks,

(05:18):
and especially new shoes. So if there is any of
those items that you might be able to help out with,
you can drop them off at Clark County's donation center
at Peggy's Attic that's at seven oh one North pay Coast.
And of course, monetary donations also greatly appreciated. Last year,
I'm reading here that they collected around two thousand backpacks

(05:38):
and around two hundred thousand dollars in in kind donations,
and then included backpacks, school supplies, haircut vouchers and other
essentials and those directly benefit children in foster care throughout
Clark County. I'll make sure you have the link to
donate monetary donations if you choose, but also all the
information about where to go donate supplies if you can

(05:58):
as well, will be at Sunny Window six five dot com.
Just click on Sunny Mornings coming up seven am. Another
chance at one thousand dollars with the workday Payday keep
it here on Sunny Wake Up with Sunny Mornings with
Joanna and Sean. On Sunny one, I was six point five.
I know that I'm not the only one that is
hovering over all of their Amazon lists to see what

(06:20):
is dropped in price. Right, it's Sunny one of six
point five Las Vegas's best variety of the eighties nineties,
and today I'm sean last day of Prime Day. They
stretched it out to four days this year. They're saying
at Amazon that we've already shelled out ten billion dollars
more than we did last year. That is crazy to me.
The biggest drivers behind the increase are school and office supplies.

(06:44):
They're also saying look out for a lot of online
shopping scams while these sales go on. Now if accounts
have very few likes or followers, or they don't have
like a blue verification check, those are some pretty big
red flags to begin with. I'll say this too Good Housekeeping.
I said this a couple of days ago, but Good
Housekeeping is recommending avoiding any major appliance purchases through Amazon

(07:04):
for Prime Day only because the sales are better on
Memorial Day and President's Day than they are on Prime
Day so you can save more money on things like
dishwashers and the like stove maybe oven. I guess the
stove and oven are the same thing. How much cooking
do I do? Can you tell? Anyway? Have the Amazon
Prime Day too you. I've got my eye on this
Belgian waffle maker that, of course has dropped twenty percent

(07:26):
since I added it to my list, and I'm deciding
whether or not to pull the trigger on it. Stick
around till seven forty. You're gonna get you into SeaWorld
and Sesame Place with the name drop at snay win
of six point.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Five Sonny Little six point five.

Speaker 1 (07:40):

is back from vacation. I've been home alone for like
a week right now, and I've been eating like a
just like a wild animal. I think I've made one
home cooked meal and it was it was Burger's out
a George Foreman grill. I'm absolutely helpless, but I'm looking
forward to having my kids and my wife back tomorrow. Emily,

(08:24):
thanks for calling in. What's going on with you? What's
your good news?

Speaker 3 (08:27):
So? My good news is that I have been working
towards this one job opportunity and I finally heard back
from the recruiter and I have an interview in person
with them.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
In person interview. Love that it was a little scary though.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Yeah, it is a little daunting. It's a little scary,
but I do feel qualified and I'm really excited about this.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
It is my dream job, dream job. That's what I
like to hear.

(10:01):
I just want us thinking about how some very deserving
kids in our community could use little help with things
like notebooks, pencils, pens, folders, backpacks, especially new shoes. You
can donate things at Clark County's donation Center, which is
Peggy's Attic seven oh one North pay Coast Road. They
also would very gladly accept monetary donations, and we'll make
