Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is sunny when it was six point five. Las
Vegas is best variety of the eighties nineties and today
good morning gets Sean. So we do this twice a day,
six and eight o'clock here on Sunday on Fridays. Anyway,
just share your good news with a valley. So anything
you got going on making you smile, let us know.
I just found out I don't have to get a
new fridge.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
That was great news. Just backstory.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
My fridge has not been working for over a week,
keeping nothing as cold as it needs to be. We
had a fridge guy come and I mean thankfully it
doesn't have to be replaced. And I don't know anything
about fridges. I'm just glad it's one part and not
a whole fridge. Look, if you listen, you know that
I call myself thrifty. Some people say cheap. I hate
that word. I just I like to save money. There's
nothing wrong with that. Let's go to Yasenya as I

(00:39):
get defensive over here. Yes, Senya, do you have any
good news it's going on?

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Well, I honestly never thought this would happen, but I
filled out one of those surveys after I stopped at homdtos.
Oh yeah, and I actually I want to give certificates
who which like I never went anything, first of all,
and second of all, like surreal.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Now, I've always wondered if those are real or not.
I never look at those ones from home depot. I
was just handed one at a restaurant and I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah,
I'll call the number. I never do, but I mean,
that's great, it was real.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
I I like, yeah, I mean, now I.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Feel like maybe I do win though most definitely I'm
happy for you.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
That's awesome.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Speaking of winning stuff, coming up at seven forty and
eight forty, getting your tickets for Universal Studios with the
name drops I get sign up at the website, and
then at nine forty getting you backstage with new Kids
on the Block.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Last day to win six point sunny one oh six point.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Five Las Vegas is best variety of the eighties nineties
and today it's Sean, I got your sunny story of
the day here.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
When I do these, I like.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
To find you stuff that's gonna save you money or
that you could do with the family, and this takes
both of those boxes. Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandala Bay.
It's an iconic attraction attorney twenty five years old, and
they're doing all kinds of special events and activities to
celebrate all weekend long.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
You can get discounted admission.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Love that Finn the mascot's going to be hanging out
so you can bring the kids. There's a family scavenger hunt,
you've got to meet, a sneak peak behind the scenes
at the massive shipwreck exhibit. And for locals, a sweet
summer deal ten dollars admission every Tuesday through August twenty six.
That is for locals only. Here's a couple of fun facts.
Since they've opened in two thousand, the aquarium has hosted

(02:28):
twenty one million visitors and also eight hundred and thirty
five weddings. Now I did the math on that. That
is over thirty three weddings a year and a pretty
awesome place to say I do. I'll put everything you
need to know over at Sunny Windo six five dot com.
Just click on Sunny Mornings.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny
one oh six point five.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
If you are an animal lover or a movie lover,
or both, I have some plans for you this weekend.
It is Sunny Wino six point five, Las Vegas's best
variety of the eight nineties, and today it's Sean I
got your sunny story of the day. It's not often
I get to talk to movie makers here, but that's
exactly what we're about to do. There is a self
proclaimed dog youmentary. This is a feel good movie you

(03:13):
want to watch this weekend. We're talking right now to
the director and producer and cause himself, the reluctant co
star of Abby's List, a dogumentary, Mark Sutherland, Good morning.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Yeah, how do you like that? Sean? We are we
are inventing a new genre of movies here, just so
we can be the number one dogumentary in the country.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Look, I'm personally a dog lover. I got my own
Collie Shepherd makes jinks. We have a million and one
dog lovers here in this city. But even if you're
not necessarily a dog lover, this is just a great family,
feel good movie. Can you kind of give us like
the you know, the motivation behind it.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
Yeah. So we started back in twenty sixteen and actually
didn't expect to make a film We were just going
to hit the road with my dog and make some
ridiculous YouTube videos that we could share with friends and
maybe put together a short film or something. But what
happened was she started enjoying it more than we ever

(04:17):
thought she would, and so we just kept going and
what originally was planned to be a three week trip
crossing the country turned into a three year journey. And
she lives. When we started, she was fourteen. She lived
to almost seventeen, and I didn't think she'd live, you know,
more than a few more months. She was healthy enough

(04:38):
to take the trip and enjoy everything. But you know,
at fourteen, what do you do with the dog for
a bucket list? Well, we drove her to Sequoia National
Forest so she could pee on the world's tallest trees.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
There's something just innately touching about, you know, the road
trips story of a person and their dog. You have
some great I want to say cameos in here. You've
got Jack Hannah, world renowned TV host and director of
the Columbus Zoo.

Speaker 4 (05:09):
I needed a pet sitter, so Jack was I figured
probably a little overqualified, but Jack was Abby's pet sitter
for the day.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Can you ask for a better one. Right, You've also
got Bill Farmer, the voice of Goofy for over thirty years.
I think you wanted to introduce Abby to the world's
most famous dog.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yes, exactly. And the great thing was that he did
the voice, and she just looked up and rolled her eyes.
She couldn't have cared less. She didn't understand how famous
it was, and that, to me is just absolutely hilarious.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Dogs don't get starstruck the same way we do. Now,
there is a location that I think a lot of
our local listeners are going to recognize right here in
Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Tell us about that.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Well, we wanted her to live like a rock star,
and we went to the Mirage, and the Mirage was
kind enough to comp us a three thousand dollars a
night sweet, a high roller sweet, just so Abby could
do room service in Vegas.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
That's incredible. Abby's living a better life than most people
I know. Absolutely a touching film. You have to watch it.
It's called Abby's List, a Dogumentary, and it's on all
major platforms right now, Apple TV, iTunes, Amazon Prime you
can watch it there too, and some great reviews. I
saw you have one hundred percent score on Rotten Tomatoes,

(06:28):
and I think really great scores on IMDb as well.
People are responding super well to this.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Yeah, you know what, I think people are thirsty for
something positive. There's a perfect mix between ridiculous and you
know and a little smart allogy and unpredictable. But there's
also a very thoughtful undertone because here is this older
dog who really is having the time of her life

(06:55):
toward the end of her life. And so it just
it leaves you with a with a hop and you know,
and a good feeling for humanity. And I think that's
something we all need a little bit of right now.

Speaker 1 (07:07):
It sounds like a great use of an hour and
a half this weekend.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
If you got it.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
It's called Abby's List, a dogumentary. We can watch it
right now on Apple, TV, iTunes, Amazon, Prive, all the
major streaming platforms. Mark Sutherland, reluctant co star and director
and producer of Abby's List, thank you so much for
hanging out with us this morning.

Speaker 4 (07:29):
Thanks Sean. Make sure Jinks is watching when you see
the film, okay.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Oh you know she will be Syr.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Sunny one of six point five Las Vegas is best
variety of the eighties, nineties and today, good morning.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
It's Sean.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
Let's share some feel good Friday news. Darcy, go for it.
What's your news this morning?

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Oh, thank god for small favors. My son had some
library books out and we couldn't find them anywhere, and
after like weeks and weeks of searching four of them,
they finally turned up. So I took him to end
of the library and there was like over one hundred
dollars late.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Whoa one hundred dollars? How long did you have these books?

Speaker 5 (08:09):
It's been a while. It's been a while, like I said,
you know, it's like he kind of forgot about it
and we remembered and then we couldn't find them anywhere.
So it's like time March is on and it was
like over one hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
My goodness.

Speaker 5 (08:20):
But the good news is the librarian waved the fees,
so I gave her the books back and we're free
and clear. I don't think I think I'm taking away
his library guards. This is just not happening again.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
No, I don't blame you. Look, I'm I'm happy that
that it went your way. You could have ended up
like Jerry Seinfeld The New York Public Library says that
I took out tropic of cancer in nineteen seventy one
and never returned it.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Do you know how much that comes to?

Speaker 4 (08:50):
That's a Nickela day for twenty years. It's gonna be
fifty thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
It doesn't work like that. And it's a diamond day.
It could be one hundred dollars. Wake up with Sunny
Mornings with Joanna and Sean. I'm Sunny one o six
point five, Sonny one o six point five. It's Sean.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Hey, do you remember Monty Python's always look on the
bright side of life, Always look on the bright side
of life. Such an infectious whistle. They were right, though,
they were absolutely right. A new study says that if
you have a positive outlook on life, you are less
likely to suffer memory problems in the middle and later

(09:29):
stages of life.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
They found that those.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Who said they had a happy, healthy attitude towards life's
challenges were more likely to have better scores on memory tests.
They also reported a greater sense of control and freedom
to make choices.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Fascinating.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Now, I'm not sharing this to you know, expect anybody,
at least of all myself. To completely change the way
they look at life. I know it's a big ask,
but if knowing that information today helps you approach one
pitfall or disappointment or challenge with a little bit more
optim then maybe it was worth sharing.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
After all, we're.
