Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's a feel good Friday right here on Sunnay when
I was six point five.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
So let's talk about all those things that make you
smile and laugh out loud. Good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
It's Jouetta and Sean, and you have a very adorable story.
I know you want to share about one of your
front Yes.

Speaker 3 (00:14):
So we have just a wonderful neighbor. Her name is
Maya and.

Speaker 4 (00:18):
She is a single mom to two amazing girls, Ella
and Layla, and they're my daughter's agent. They play together
all the time, so love that. We were having a
little playdate, like adult and kids play date over at
their house and the kids were doing all these drawings
and one of her daughters came up to her with
his drawing. I'm laughing already, but the drawings said third
place mommy on it, and with no context, it's like

(00:41):
third place to who, I'm your only mom?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
What other?

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Who's got first and second place? So it was just hysterical,
and she loved it so much she put it on
the fridge because she's like, you know what, I'm going
to embrace that I'm third place mommy. Turns out they
were just having a little you know, they're playing a
make believe game one of the girls was in first place,
my daughter wasn't second, and then mommy came in third.
So third place mommy was the award that she won,

(01:08):
not necessarily that she was third of in some order
of some kind, but without the context, it's the funniest
drawing I've seen on a fridge in quite some time.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I love that.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
That is adorable.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
It's like kids say the darness things and they draw
the darkness things too.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
I mean, you're right, It's like it's like one.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Of those things that like I would eventually move that
from the fridge to the frame, right, like you want
to remember remember something like that forever.

Speaker 4 (01:33):
Absolutely, third place, mommy, if she's gonna love that, I mean,
that's something I will that'll be framed at her wedding
for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
When that girl well ground the mom.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
For the rest of her life too. Write like anytime
she's like, am I doing good? Just look at third
place mommy.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
You're doing alright?

Speaker 4 (01:48):
Yeah, you're doing all right. Let's get a couple of
calls here. We'll start with Kate, Hey, Kate, good morning.
Tell us about the last time your kid made you
laugh out loud?

Speaker 6 (02:00):
Using this one for a while. Actually, we were playing
a board game and he was being devious whatever and
tried to say he tried to say, your efforts are fruitless,
but it came out, your fruitlets are worthless.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Oh, your fruitlets are worthless.

Speaker 6 (02:19):
Your fruitless are worthless. So we have been that's been
a repeated hilarious that's now a common saying in our house.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Isn't that the bad sometimes?

Speaker 1 (02:30):
And it's like that, like inside personal joke with their family,
and like you'll never let him forget it. You'll never
forget it. You'll just randomly bring it up at different times.
I love that kind of stuff. Mm hmm.

Speaker 6 (02:42):
It makes me laugh.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
I would be hiring someone on Etsy to make that
in the lacrosse stitch for their bedroom T shirts, you
name it.

Speaker 6 (02:49):
That's going on everything, banner, at graduation, whatever, all of it.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
That's so cool.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
There you go, so good. You got us left in
this wanting to appreciate you sharing that.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Yeah, thanks, Kate, have a great day you too.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
You're listening to Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. I'm
Sonny one oh six point five.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
You know, sometimes kids can be the funniest people around
without them even trying to be It's Sunny Mornings that
Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window six point five. We're
talking about your stories this morning. When's the last time
that your kid did something that was laugh out loud funny, Joanna,
I know I asked you kind of off Mike a
minute ago about something Brock did. What was that thing

(03:32):
that Brock did that just made you put you in stitches?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I love this so much. It's such a great topic.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
So, you know, I usually do pick up for my
son at school, and I noticed one day this week
when I was doing the pickup that he hugged this
little girl goodbye that I've never seen him interact with
or hug before. And so I was like, oh, that's cute.
I mean, I'm curious about who this little girl is.
So we're walking to our car and putting him in

(03:58):
the car seat and I get in and I go, Brock,
I go, I go, who is that little girl?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Is that your girlfriend?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
And you know, my son is nonverbal right now, but
he does do sign language and he does communicate in
other ways. And I looked at him and I go, Brockie,
I said, how many girlfriends do you have in that school.
And you know, he could have ignored me, he could
have just continued looking out the window, but instead he
looked at me and he threw up the number four on.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
His fingers, and I still laughing. I started laughing so hard.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Because again, it's like when you have a child who's nonverbal,
it's like you don't ever know if you're going to
get an answer to a question or not. But it
was again, Brock, how many girlfriends do you have? And
he was so confident with that number four that he
threw up that I was like.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Oh, okay, just caught me off guard. You have four
girlfriends at school? And it just made me laugh.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
And now anytime we're at home and you know, I'm
like with you know, my mom or my husband, I'm like, Brock,
how many girlfriends do you have? And he always throws
up the number four? So there's something going on in
the classroom. And I just think it was so adorable.
He's so confident about it.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
Clearly, you are not the only one out there that
loves Gingers. The four other little girls out there that
clearly adore your son, which is it is not hard
to imagine he is just a handsome little devil too
with his shocking red hair and great smile. I love
that kid so much. Every time I see me makes
me smile. So let's go to who we got here on.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
The phone, Sally on holiday.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
That's right, let's go to Sally first. Hey, Sally, good morning.
Tell us about that time your kid made you laugh
out loud.

Speaker 7 (05:29):
Oh my god, this is so funny. At least it
was to me. My son comes home and he's so excited.
He was like in first grade. He's really happy. He
wants to buy all these tickets. Okay, all these tickets
to a fundraiser because he thought they were saying fun, razor,
isn't that cute? It may I'll never forget that. Oh

(05:53):
they're going to have a fundraiser of fun, and all
he heard was fun.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
That's so cute.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Oh my gosh, so simple. Right, we should be having
fundraisers here in the office. To need some fun with
you and I bring the fun every day. The office
needs to pick it up.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
It's cool to hear you know kids, you know, when
they're that young, their mindset and their outlook on everything,
Like yeah, he's like, I want to buy those tickets.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Yeah, they just want.

Speaker 7 (06:17):
To be happy. It's a fundraiser, right.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I love that so sweet.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Thank you for sharing that this morning, Sally.

Speaker 7 (06:25):
Yeah, no problem. I hope it made people happy.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
I have a great day Sunday six points.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
We love a positive Friday, and that's why we call
it feel good Friday.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
Right here on sunnay Wino six point five.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Good morning, it's Joanna and Sean, so let's celebrate that positivity.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Give us a call this morning so we can share
it with all of Las Vegas seven o two seven
nine six one oh six five.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
We want to know why you're smiling headed into the weekend,
and you seem pretty smiling up beat today, Sean, what's
got you in a feel good Friday mood?

Speaker 4 (06:57):
I try to be smiling up beat on most days,
but my music going here, So yeah. Look, it's gonna
be kind of a big weekend for my daughter. We're
gonna get her a new bed this weekend, her own.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Cool.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Well, she's been using like a spare.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Bed that we just had in like a guest room
that it's not really hers, you know what I mean.
So sure she'll get to pick it out and it's
gonna be her own. So that's just a nice kind
of when you're growing up thing to experience getting a
nice new bed.

Speaker 3 (07:23):
And we're also gonna get her ears pierced this weekend. Finally.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
We've been talking about this for absolutely ever, I know,
but we need to get it done.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
We have to get it done done where, No, do
you still go?

Speaker 1 (07:35):
Do people know? Because I got it done at Claire's
at the mall? Is that like where still people go? Like?

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Where do people go for this?

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Well?

Speaker 3 (07:41):
People do go to Claire's.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
But we found we found a place down in Green
Valley Ranch that does piercings. They have like nurses on
staff that do it, but it's it's a dedicated ear
piercing place just for like little kids. And I can't
think of the name of it off the top of
my head. Where that's where we're going to go?

Speaker 2 (07:57):
Sweet?

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Well, that sounds like an awesome way to spend the
week and spoiling your daughter as well as she deserves.

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Yeah, that's her.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
It's her good, feel good weekend more so than ours.
We got to spend some money, right, I was.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Gonna say, but the smile on her face will make
up for the money.

Speaker 3 (08:13):
Absolutely. She's very excited. About getting the ears piers. Absolutely,
I'm not that that's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
And I see we already have people calling in to
share their feel good Friday news.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Sam has been on hold just a little bit. Good morning, Sam.
What's got your feeling good on this Friday?

Speaker 8 (08:29):
Well, I came out of Target and I came back
to my car with a bag full of you know,
too much stuff that I bought a Target. But there
was a note on my windshield and I first thought
with oh no, what happened Someone ran into my car?
But when I opened it up, it was a note
from a stranger and it just said I saw you
in store. In the store, you're a beautiful soul, and

(08:50):
I just wanted to give you a treat and they
give you a five dollars gift card to Starbucks.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
What.

Speaker 7 (08:57):
No name, no nothing, just I saw you.

Speaker 8 (09:00):
In the store and thought you were a beautiful soul.

Speaker 9 (09:02):
Here's a treat for.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
You, like a random act of kindness thing.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Yeah, maybe like did this look.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Like I'm curious, did this look like a man's or
a woman's handwriting? I know that's Oh, it feels weird
to ask that question, but still it.

Speaker 5 (09:16):
Wasn't like really pretty handwriting that would I easily definitely
be a woman's handwriting.

Speaker 8 (09:20):
So it could have gone either way.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
I'm not sure, but I feel like it definitely warmed
my heart.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
I mean that honestly, Sam is really cool.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
I think I'm just like kind of flabbergasted by it.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
But I think there are people out there, because I
do have friends who do this with, you know, people
who are homeless, but they have like prepackaged like you know,
like like bags in their car just in case they're
like at a you know, a stoplight or something and
they see someone who's homeless, they give them like a
bag of goodies. Like I think there actually are people
out there who like have a bunch of five dollars
Starbucks and they do this like random act of kindness

(09:51):
to spread positivity, which is awesome.

Speaker 5 (09:55):
Oh maybe I should start doing it because now that
they know how it feels to be on the receiver receiving, right,
I'm inspired.

Speaker 4 (10:02):
My only one who's a little creeped out by this.
Somehow this person knew which car was yours unless they
saw you on that I.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Think it was.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
I think it was random.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
I wouldn't be creeped out.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
I would just I'd use that gift card and I
would do exactly what you said, Sam.

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I think it would make me.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Feel so good that I'd want to go and do
it for somebody else too.

Speaker 7 (10:19):
Maybe.

Speaker 8 (10:21):
Yeah, well now I'm thinking, well, wait a second, hang on,
how did they know it was me?

Speaker 4 (10:24):
And I'm sorry, I'm sorry I have sowed the seeds
of doubt here this morning.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I think it was a random act of kindness to
make you smile, and it sounds like that did exactly that,
So that's pretty awesome.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
Thank you for sharing.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
That's really cool.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
I'm sorry. I'll put my feel good Friday shoes back on.
I love it. I love it.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
Thanks here for the call.

Speaker 9 (10:43):
Thanks you guys.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Wake up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. I'm
Sonny one. I was six point.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
Five Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny One
was six point five. So twice every day we bring
you a feel good story, so I'm gonna put a
smile on your face. We call it our son Story
of the Day, and we try to make it local
as often as we possibly can. And I think today's
story really hits both of those marks pretty hard. This

(11:10):
is super local, super feel good, and it deals with
an organization that.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
I think is near and dear to both of our hearts.
Make a wish, Nevada.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
This is pretty special, So yeah, make a wish Nevada.
They teamed up with Fortta Home Maintenance, which is a
division of Forte Specialty Contractors, and they teamed up to
transform the life of Kayan Santos, who is a six
year old boy right here in southern Nevada battling a
severe respiratory disorder and brain damage. Now, this partnership resulted

(11:39):
in a bathroom makeover that includes an accessible shower and
a wider door, making daily activities for Kayan and his
family more manageable because he is in a wheelchair and
bathrooms are very expensive. So to be able to have
organizations come together to really transform your home to make
it more convenient and easy to take care of a

(12:01):
child with disabilities is something pretty special.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
You know.

Speaker 4 (12:05):
It's sad that it takes a story like this, I
think to remind all of us, but it is important
just to be.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Reminded how how lucky so many of us.

Speaker 4 (12:13):
Are to have our health and to have the things
that we have in our life. And oh man, what
an inspiring kid.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Look.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
I donate to a few charities every month, one of
them being Make a Wish Foundation, and it's nice to
see a story like this come through to show what
your donations are going towards. I mean, this is incredible.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:38):
So, Kayan is a non verbal child and he requires
extensive medical care, including oxygen tanks, so you know, he's
got a lot of equipment around him at all times.
But something that I love about this story, and you'll
be able to see the photos when we put him
up online, Kayan truly is a joyful child. I mean,
he loves Disney, especially Puppy Dog Pas and he greets

(13:01):
every day with laughter and a smile, and he has
one of the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen, and
as does all of his family members too. But to
have organizations come together grant wishes like this again, like
you said, Sean, for things that maybe some of us
take for granted, is something pretty special.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Yeah, And look, I just hope we can all be
like Kaion and greet every day with laughter and a smile, you.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Know, definitely.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
So if you want to read more about kai on
his family in this incredible wish that came true right
here in our community. You can right now. It's Sunny
one of six' five dot. Com just click On Sunny Mornings.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Sunny one o six point.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
Side let's talk about that time that we've been called
out for taking home maybe something we shouldn't have in
an excessive.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Way good, Morning It's joanna And.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Sean and there's This reddit article out, there always the
best stuff On, reddit right oh, yeah where a sister
of a bride shared a story about relatives at her
sister's wedding who decided to fill up plastic bags of
food from the wedding's buffet to take home before the
wedding even.

Speaker 4 (14:12):
Ended so, this so let me get this. Straight this
is before usually the end of the night at a.
WEDDING i have been at weddings where people will say
take the, book you, know take the, centerpieces or take
maybe some of the decorpes home, please you, know otherwise
we don't know what to do with, it we have too,
much or take some food home before the thing was even,
over and that was offered these people, had they had

(14:34):
ziplocks ready to, go you are.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Correct so it looks like the relatives of the bride
began packing up food and plastic bags to take home
immediately after the wedding buffet opened for the, guest AND
i mean obviously a very embarrassing, situation especially for the
newly weds who paid for. Everything so the sister wrote
about this On reddit and asked people if they agreed

(14:56):
that these family members you, know were basically tracked actually
for doing something like, this and the majority of the
people who replied did agree that these relatives behavior was totally, inappropriate,
entitled and trashy and they should have been called out
on ziplocking the food before the wedding was even.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Done, yeah that's, uh you gotta wait for the go
ahead on, that you. Know that's that's a pretty big
assumption to.

Speaker 8 (15:19):
Make.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
Now, LOOK I i have relatives that.

Speaker 4 (15:21):
When they are on, vacation they will clear out hotel
rooms of the mini shampoos and, conditioners, right even nice
towels in some cases not the. Towels oh, yeah there's no,
Shame like get his, packet throw in the bag so
they're not going to miss, them you.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Know.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
Uh but but.

Speaker 4 (15:38):
WHAT i have personally been called out for AND i
was caught AFTER i was caught way after the. Fact
SO i have been taking decorative pillows from some of
Our iHeart radio concerts that we host as a. Company,
okay so the first Ever iHeartRadio Jingle ball THAT i
got to, work like, BACKSTAGE i took home a Decorative
iHeart radio jingle ball pillow that was sitting on one

(16:00):
of like the green room, couches just as a keepsake
BECAUSE i didn't know If i'd ever get to work
another one. Again and then WHEN i got to work
one of Our Wango tango, EVENTS i did the same.
Thing this became a habit of, mine and NOW i
have several Like iHeartRadio decorative pillows from these different. Concerts
AND i had some people over to my house once

(16:20):
and they, said did you steal these From Jingo paul
And Wango. TANGO i, said you, BET i, did. Absolutely
SO i have a small but thriving collection of Decorative
iHeartRadio pillows THAT i have taken from events in the
past THAT i had been.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
WORKING i love.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
IT i love that somebody accused you of stealing them, too, Right.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Oh, yeah you.

Speaker 4 (16:42):
Didn't these were you didn't order, these, right these were
taken from the. Event like what CAN i? Say there
other than, yes, ABSOLUTELY i took.

Speaker 2 (16:48):
Those it's the best. One the people that love you
call you. OUT i, mean my husband is like the
first one to call me out on.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
Anything and RECENTLY i went to this doctor's appointment and you,
know like sometimes you like stumble upon like resource fare
and so like in this like doctor's office, COMPLEX i
was leaving AND i.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Was, Like, oh what's all.

Speaker 1 (17:04):
This all these tables set up and all these people
were passing passing out all these, things and my husband's,
like come, On, joe let's.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Go let's. Go AND i.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Stumbled into like a diabetes resource fair and, listen like
diabetes runs in.

Speaker 2 (17:15):
My, family like my dad has. It SO i was, like,
well let me see.

Speaker 1 (17:17):
IF i can get anything for my. Dad and So
i'm going through this and Diabetes Resource fair And i'm taking.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
EVERYTHING i, Mean i'm taking like the.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
Little pill, holders like these like diabetic glotions like all this.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Stuff my husband's, Like, joanna you need to.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
Stop you're taking these freebies in an excessive, amount AND
i was, like, yeah but it's for my. Dad and
like things are expensive and like especially for older people these,
days Like i'm getting him all this, Stuff like.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
There's no shame in my freebie game at.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Those types of, things right like they're giving it to,
you they're gonna probably throw it away or you.

Speaker 2 (17:49):
Know WHAT i, Mean So i'm gonna take.

Speaker 7 (17:50):
It.

Speaker 4 (17:51):
SORRY i definitely at our last diaper drive event For
Las vegas largest baby shower ate all the popcorn.
