Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sunny when I was six point five. Good morning, It's
Joanna Anda Sean.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Have you ever found yourself scrambling on Thanksgiving because maybe
you've forgotten an important ingredient or item.

Speaker 3 (00:11):
Not me personally, because I don't do a whole lot
of the cooking in my house. However, I will say
that I am a procrastinator with a terrible memory, so
I would likely forget virtually everything. And I want to
help anyone who else might be a fellow procrastinator who
doesn't do a whole lot of cooking avoid pitfalls like this.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, those last minute thanks Giving runs.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Are never fun.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
No, so door Dash release kind of an interesting list
here of the most popular last minute items that get
purchased prior to Thanksgiving, right, And some of these are
a little bit surprising when I never considered a meat thermometer.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Do you own a meat thermometer?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I own multiple, multiple, I mean I probably owned two.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Yeah, yeah, well I have one.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
But if you don't something to take into consideration before
you realize you can't check the temp on that bird, right.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
That's important? Sage, nutmeg.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
These are I guess ingredients you might not use a
lot during the year, but definitely during Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
And stuffing for sure that stage.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Really see there you go. I don't do much cooking whatsoever.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
And if you're one of those nuts that likes to
deep fry a turkey in the garage or out back,
peanut oil is something you might want to get before
it's gone if you are attempting that this year for
maybe the first time. Peanut oil, I guess is the
favorite for deep frying a turkey.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
That could be kind of scary, right.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Right, So look, bottom line here is like get ahead
of your shopping before it becomes too.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Late, right yeah, and it heads up here too. I
find this kind of interesting. Door Dash also reports that
Thanksgiving Eve is the most common restaurant takeout night of
the year, with more than five million orders happening the
night before Thanksgiving.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Right, I guess that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
People don't want to cook two nights, especially not the
night before things, right, right exactly, And you don't want
to cook, definitely don't want to take get takeout two
nights in a row, So maybe get those ingredients before
you're forced to.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Do that, right Yeah, all.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Right, your sunny story of the day coming out of
next Joanna, what's happened.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Ah, The story is a good one.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
It's a story about when Las Vegas police officers trade
badges for boxes of food, a heartwarming surprise for hundreds
of families.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Happened this week. Will fill you in on those details.
Next Sunny one O six one.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sunny Window six
point five. It's your daily dose of positivity, your sunny
story today. What's going on, Joanna?

Speaker 2 (02:26):
So, today's story is all about community and kindness right
here in Las Vegas now. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police
Department recently teamed up with local businesses and nonprofits to
deliver five hundred Thanksgiving meals to families in need this week.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Look at our boys in blue tan. I don't know
what the color they wear, but.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
You get if they wear tan. Okay, that's very true.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Now, this annual effort, supported by partners like Walmart, really
helps ease the financial strain for families during this time
of the year where everything's expensive. Now, officers and volunteers
packed up full meal kits and personally deliver them to
homes all around the southeast.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Side of town.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
I love seeing this side of our you know of
what Metro does. Right, I don't think people get to
see it a lot, but it's nice that we do.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yeah, we've talked about that before, right.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
It is just to let people know that police officers.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Are human beings just like you and I.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
And that's exactly what they did, really, getting the community
to come together support these families and make their season
a whole lot brighter.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
So that's your sunny story of the day.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
You can read more right now at Sunny Window six
five dot com. Just click on Sunny Mornings Now. Janelle
wants to share a little victory in her life.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (03:33):
Well, recently my car light engine came on and I
just started freaking out because I just can't afford spending
money on that right now.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
I don't want to fix anything in my car, and
so when I.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Want to get it checked out, what.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
They end up telling me is that the reason the
light was.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
On was because my gas cack was off.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Oh, it wasn't anything that.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Was really wrong with the car, which is amazing.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
Yes, we've all been there then, and it's better than
running out of gas too, right, Yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Was so happy.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
This is the best news. Yeah, that's a victory. For sure. Well,
we're glad you can save that money now, Janelle.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Wake up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
On Sunny one, I was six point.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Five Sunny Mornings Johanna and Sean right here on Sunny one,
I was.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Six point five.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
And the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade is such a tradition
for so many people out there, but I really think
they are going to get a whole new audience this
year with this lineup.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Honestly, I'm like, I'm feeling very targeted and very seen
by the Thanksgiving Day Parade lineup right now, which just
came out, because look, I think a lot of people
our age aren't necessarily huge on parades, right Maybe maybe
we watched them in fast forward by walking the opposite
direction so it's done sooner, right, sure, but maybe not
with this lineup this year.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
I mean this is a little weird.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I mean, you got Buster Rhymes riding on the Nickelodeon
teenates if you didn't, Ninja Turtles float. I don't know
what on earth he's going to be performing, but he
will be there as well as Lil John. I mean,
we've got like the biggest hype rappers in the world
that are going to be on like the biggest stage
anywhere on the planet on Thanksgiving Day.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I think it's kind of fun to see which of
the celebrities are paired with which float. Like Little John
he's making his parade debut, but it's on the toys
Rus float right, Like, these rappers are going to obviously
have to censor themselves for whatever they are doing on
these kid friendly float floats, But I think it's kind
of funny just to see which floats they get paired with.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
Look, we play when we are not the official Christmas
station of Las Vegas, we play Little John Ushers. Yeah,
but outside of that, I don't know how deep Little
John's repertoire is that he can be performing anyway. We
also have some like people you're gonna recognize cool in
the gang, you know, are some favorites, a lot of
R and B artists, Tianna Taylor, Siara Shaggy who we play,

(05:52):
and of course Christmas favorite Darlene Love.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
We play some Darlene Love right now on this radio.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, looks like a Colby Cala, Debbie Gibson, Jewel also
going to be making musical appearances. Nonetheless, there is somebody
for everybody during this year's Thanksgiving Day peray.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Yeah, and it's going to be about the most hype
one I think we have ever seen. Sunny when it
was six point five, coming up after seven o'clock. What
do we have on the way here. We'll drop another
name for SeaWorld tickets at seven point forty and before that, uh,
there are changes happening in the ticket industry overseas which

(06:27):
hopefully make their way here to the United States, and
we will get into that.

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Just after seven o'clock.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Serny one or six point five Sunny when it was
six point five.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
It's Joanna and as Sean And it looks like in
music News the UK is onto something possibly saving people
millions and millions of dollars.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
I am such a fan of this.

Speaker 3 (06:50):
So they're looking to ban the resell of concert tickets
in the UK for a profit, and this is maybe
like a blueprint that Americans should I'm guessing right, Okay,
So this is actually coming on the heels of some
really major artists like I'm talking Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Radiohead.
They've all sent a letter to the Prime Minister demanding

(07:11):
that the government takes action against the resale of tickets
for profit.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Wow, that would be so nice.

Speaker 3 (07:18):
So what they're saying is they want to help democratize
public access to the arts.

Speaker 4 (07:22):
And basically, you know what that means. It just let's
level the playing field.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Let's let it get everyone who is a fan of
music the opportunity to go see a show live without
having to pay insane prices because bots and scalpers bought
up all the tickets and they're marking them up by
thousands of dollars right now.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
It's always so sad to see that happen. And I
think what in most recent music news, you know, ticket inflation,
Taylor Swift with the errors tour, those prices were going crazy.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Oh yeah, I mean you had four hundred dollars tickets
being reselled for what like, you know, five ten thousand dollars,
and you just right, it makes the concert experience for
the average person completely unattainable. In the UK, they're saying
this could save concert goers and an average of like
one hundred and forty million dollars annually. Okay, So look,
I think what's going to take Joanna is some major

(08:10):
artists here in the United States making that same demand
and maybe putting their fans before the dollars.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
You know, definitely, And I think there are artists like that,
like Garth Brooks has always.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Been yes one.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Right, And I think even like the sphere here in
Las Vegas, they do a great job in kind of
protecting that by like having these dedicated pre sales and
these sign ups and you know what I mean, and
like in like allowing like fan clubs to get tickets first.
So I feel like there is a focus there. But
to take it really serious, I mean, it would be
so impactful.

Speaker 1 (08:41):
In the United States, but right here in Vegas, all
the entertainment we had, it would be insane for sure.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
And in the UK they're even making the ticket reselling
sites adhere to those rules too. So let's hope it
takes hold here, and if it does, will be the
first to tell you.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
All Right, you're listening to Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
On' Sunny one oh six point five.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Joanna and Sean on Sunday one of six point five.
Now for all things entertainment Vegas and beyond. We go
to Joanna for the Joe in the note what's up?

Speaker 2 (09:07):
So Eddie Murphy is opening up in his new Netflix
documentary Being Eddie, revealing that he's quietly paid for the
funerals of several celebrity friends of.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
His who's who died broke.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
This includes Rick James and comedian Red Fox.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Very interesting, right, Wow, my wife's and watching that without me.

Speaker 4 (09:26):
I gotta watch that, oh man.

Speaker 1 (09:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
Murphy says that he's helped multiple stars and plans to
skip a funeral himself, opting for cremation one day.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
So he's definitely opening up in this documentary.

Speaker 4 (09:37):
I did not know that.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Yeah. And big news from Nashville last night, Laney Wilson
takes home CMA's Entertainer of the Year, making history.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Is only the third woman to win.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
The award twice, joining Taylor Swift and Barbara Mandoel.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Not surprising, Laany is a huge name in country music.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
It's so likable too, she said, for sure. And here
is Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
The strip is revving up for Formula one starting today
with practice. You can of course expect high speed thrills
plus star studded entertainment and sightings including Kane Brown, Steve Aoki,
Cascade Tea Pain and more.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
And also tomorrow downtown.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Las Vegas will go electric with the Neon City Festival
featuring Good Charlotte, Dead Mouse and tons of VIP opportunities
as well.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
That lineup is pretty good too.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
All of that looks super fun and I will likely
be enjoying it from my couches.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
My guess ah, well that's your Joe and the No Report,
All Things sound screens and starts.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
Sunny Mono six point side.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Joanna and Sean right here on Sunny one o six
point five and the CMA Awards always such a big
awards show with a lot of headlines the next.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Day, and this year no different.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Looks like the Internet arguing over something that happened last night.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Yeah, I mean it is country night's biggest music you know,
big spotlight on the genre. But Instagram and TikTok are
just a flame this morning. So Zach top twenty eight
year old country music artists, and last night he won
the award for Best New Artists. But what he did
on stage is what has people really upset. He went
up to the stage with a Corps banquet beer in

(11:17):
his hand in a can, no less, and even drank
from it on stage.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Thank you very very much.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
I can't remember if I was supposed to put my
beer down first or not, but here it is now.

Speaker 4 (11:30):
Took a big old gult of it right there.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
So yeah, people are saying, guys a legend, you know what,
A country boy.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
I love it. He's so real for that.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
And other people are like, that was the tackiest thing
I've ever seen.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Act like you've been there before. So I don't know.

Speaker 3 (11:46):
It's like I personally I somewhat agree with the that
was kind of a tacky move, right.

Speaker 4 (11:51):
Can you.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
I mean, it's one of the biggest nights in music
for a country Maybe just leave your beer at you receipt.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
I don't know, Am I being too judgy here?

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Well, I don't know if.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
You're being judge, but but when did country music get bougie?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Like I feel like, bring all the beers up.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Like, I mean, this guy was dressed in a very
dapper blue suit from the photos that I'm seeing, right,
I mean, yeah, I think it was just so natural.
Wasn't intentional? I mean, you you just won your first CMA.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
It's like he didn't even think about putting his beer down.
That's country music right there.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
Like I think all country stars when accepting awards should
have a beer.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Our hot take from from Joanna Balman here this morning,
coming out, we got your sunny story of the day.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
Next, what'd you find?

Speaker 2 (12:32):

police officers trade in their badges for boxes of food,
a very heartwarming surprise for lots of families in the valley.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Those details are next Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
I'm Sunny one six point five
