Speaker 1 (00:00):
Sunny Window six point five.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It's Sean Now tonight, our Little League World Series US
champs from Summerland South. They're getting this star treatment at
the Raiders game tonight. It's their home opener on Monday
Night football against the Chargers and the boys from Summerland South.
They get to light the Al Davis Memorial Torch at
Allegiance Stadium. That's a huge honor usually reserved for you know,

(00:22):
sports legends and celebrities. A bunch of twelve year olds
get to do it this time. How cool is that
the Raiders given these young athletes a moment to shine
on one of the biggest stages in sports. Very cool,
Still very proud of those kids. I grew up watching
the Little League World Series with my father. I was
a Little League athlete myself. My dad was my coach.
We watched all those games.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
I know what.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Those dreams that those kids have are like. And they
got to experience one of the best things ever and
continue to which is very cool.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Be watching that game tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Michael Jackson and Adele Next on Sunny Windows six point five,
Las Vegas's best variety of the eighties, nineties and today.
Sonny Sunny one of six point five.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Good morning, it's Sean.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
I have some dirty truth about your water bottle mine too.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I'm not picking on you. I got one right next
to me here.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
I take with me everywhere, and I hate to break
it to you, but your water bottle may be way
dirtier than your toilet seed. A university study found that
some bottles are crawling with over five hundred units of
bacteria per mili liter, and that is more than ten
times what you find on an average toilet seed. And look,

(01:38):
I bought this thing because it said anti microbial, anti bacterial,
you know, steal. This thing goes everywhere with me. It's
it's banged up, but it's gotten a good life out
of it. But I don't wash this thing like ever.
I just keep refilling it up. And they say the
more you refill them and don't wash them, the worse
it gets. So if it goes everywhere with you the
way mine goes everywhere with me, got to make sure

(02:00):
it hits the sink. I guess just as often like
hot water soap, give it a good scrub, let it
dry completely.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Just rinsing it doesn't cut it.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
There's a part of me that thinks that my immune
system may be better because of this. But on the
other hand, I might just toss this thing in the trash.
It might not be salvageable. I might have to just
buy a new one. Sunny Window six point five, we
got justin Deieber Tom Petty on the way and we'll
connect with Joanna on another out of office check in
right after six o'clock on Sunny.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Sunny Almost six point.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Just a handful of these out of office check ins
with Joanna left before she returns here in a couple
of weeks. It's Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on
Sunny Window six point five.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
It's a Monday, and that means Joanna is on the line.
What's going on, Joanna, Happy Monday. Good to chat with
you this morning.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Hopefully you had a great weekend. Mm hmmm, I need
some advice this morning.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Oh well, shoot, we'll see what I will. We'll see
if I'm any good at it.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
So this or this past week, I got my son's
school pictures back.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Ooh okay, yeah, yeah, we haven't done ours yet, but
we signed up for it.

Speaker 1 (03:10):
So what's going on?

Speaker 3 (03:11):
Yes, I feel like it's that time of the year now,
and we got the proofs back, the images, and I'm
looking through them and I'm realizing that my son's hair
is like really long, like to the point where it's
just in his face. And I was so afraid to
cut his hair for so long because.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
I don't know, like maybe a.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Little nervous that the curls would never come back or what.
But I finally scheduled my son's first haircut for this Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
And I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little like nervous
and sad about it. No, I get it.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
It's kind of emotional, right, this is how you known
him and the hair he's grown. He's been growing out
for as long as you've known him, right, So it's
he's got that amazing curly red hair. It's just so
so glorious, this mane of hair he's got, right, And
it's just like as a kid, I understand, like I
want to do the same thing with my son, right,
I want him to grow his hair out while he can,

(04:06):
because it's fun when they're a kid, right, And it
can be a little emotional when you finally cut it off.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I get it.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
So let me ask you this, because Axel's got a
great head of hair.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
He's had haircuts already.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Right, Yes, Actually, in Filipino culture, it's customary when you
have a son, maybe not always a daughter, but we
shaved his head completely bald when he turned one, and
the idea is that it makes their hair. Yeah, the
idea is that your hair's supposed to grow back thicker
and fuller or whatever. And he he has a great
head of hair. As far as I'm concerned, it worked.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
But he has a great head of hair, for sure.
Did you save a lock of it or do you
know if your wife Karen did.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
She did.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yes, she has a little hair from both of our
kids first haircuts.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yes, I feel like I want to keep all of it.
Does that make me weird?

Speaker 2 (04:53):
It's like a whole bag of it, zip loc bag.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
I want to like put it in a little ponytail holder.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
I want to keep all all of it.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
And I was telling my husband Andrew this, and He's like, no, Joanna,
you can have like a lock of it, like a
curl or two. You're not gonna take all of the
cut hair and put.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
It in a bag.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
And I'm like, yes, I am.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Is that weird? I could see Andrew like talking you off.
This ledge in my head already because you would make
a stuffy out of it or something like you're very stuff.
You're very sentimental about things for sure. Again, I don't
know if the whole bag of hair is necessary. I
think you'll regret it eventually. I totally get a lock
or two, but the whole bag of hair, You're gonna

(05:32):
eventually be like, why did I do this? You're gonna
come across it because you also like to hoard things too,
so you'll have a closet full of stuff and you'll
be cleaning it out and then you'll say, why do
I have an entire bag of red hair in here?

Speaker 1 (05:44):
And man, look a little creepy.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
And one more question I have for you, because I
am doing a ton of internet research on this, like
anything I can do to prepare him. I'm seeing stuff
out there, just like show him, like YouTube videos of
other kids getting their hair cut, anything else you recommend
bringing to the kid's first haircut or doing beforehand to
kind of like ease them, because that's kind of scary.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
I have scissors around their head for the first time.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
I didn't even think about showing either of my kids
videos of other kids getting haircuts. That's actually really smart.
I did take after Axual after we shaved his head.
The first actual haircut we got, we took like Edisalon.
We took them too a kid's barber shop that specializes
in kids called Snippets out in like Centennial Hills, and
they do a really good job of just like keeping

(06:28):
the kids calm and making it fun. And he was
really great through like the whole thing. So other than
I mean, I don't know, I would just say, make
sure you go to a barber who knows how to
work with kids. That's the only real advice I have.

Speaker 3 (06:39):
Okay, I love that. I definitely found a good one.
It's like a dinosaur theme.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Sweet. We'll see how. I'll keep you posted.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
But if anybody else out there has any advice for
kids first haircut, hit me up on Instagram at jo
Vegas Radio. Ease my mom and nerves. But you've helped
me too, Sean, so thank you.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Oh Candy candy works too, It works for me too.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
All well, you're listening to Sunny Mornings with Joanna and
Sean on Sunny one oh six point five.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
It is sunnybitto six point five. Good morning, Sean here,
I got your sunny story of the day. This is
a heartwarming one. So last week, on the anniversary of
nine to eleven, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced that
they paid off the mortgages for the families of two
of our fallen officers, Nevada Highway Patrol Sergeant Mike Labate
and Trooper Alberto Felix. They lost their lives back in

(07:30):
twenty twenty three. They were struck and killed by a
drunk driver while they were helping a vehicle on the
side of the road. Tragically lost their lives. Now the
Tunnel to Towers Foundation, I'd never heard about them before,
and I had to look them up. They are a
charitable organization founded in memory of a New York firefighter,
Steven Siller, who passed away on September eleventh, two thousand

(07:52):
and one, and they do a lot for America's first
responders and military heroes, including paying off moreges for the
surviving families of fallen first responders and military personnel, and
ensuring the events of nine to eleven are never forgotten. Now,
this came as part of a tribute last week on

(08:12):
the anniversary of nine to eleven, and just phenomenal work
that they're doing and such a load off of the
shoulders of those families. In the wake of their passing,
Sergeant Abat was posthumously awarded the Nevada State Police Medal
of Valor and the Alberto Felix Post Physical Readiness Test

(08:32):
Awards and Records Board were established in his honor as well.

Speaker 1 (08:47):

Speaker 2 (08:47):
I don't know if I'm the problem or if it's
the Emmys, but I feel like every year, for several years,
I keep getting surprised they're on. I spend a lot
of time on social media and YouTube, and I didn't
get like one single ad telling you they were happening anyway.
For a full list of winners, go to Sunny Butter
six five dot com. They're on the front page right now.
But a couple of highlights seth Rogan's show on Apple
TV called The Studio All About Hollywood set a record

(09:10):
for the number of awards won by a show in
its first season, with ten of them, and I particularly
enjoyed this award speech from Noah Wiley, who might remember
from spending fifteen years on the show er. He won
Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his another
medical drama, The Pit on Max, and I liked his
acceptance speech.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
A lot.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
To my children, to my parents, to my stepparents, and
to my beautiful wife Sarah, who owns half of this,
not just because it's California law, because she earned it.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
Five Sonny Windows six point five, Good morning, it's Sean.
I did not know that the Emmys were on last
night until it was halftime of the Aces game, and
I was like flipping around.

Speaker 3 (11:36):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Nate Bargatsy, one of my favorite comedians, was hosting. He
laid down some ground rules at the beginning. He said,
no speech can go over forty five seconds, and then
he said this to start.

Speaker 6 (11:47):
The show, I am going to donate one hundred thousand
dollars to the Boys and Girls Club of America. So
all right, remember that, Remember how fun that was, because
this part is hard to say.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
If you stay forty.

Speaker 6 (12:10):
Five seconds, it stays at one hundred thousand dollars. Every
second you go over forty five seconds, we will adduct
one thousand dollars away from the Boys and Girls Club.

Speaker 1 (12:22):
I know, I know.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
You can get a full list of all the winners

you exactly how much money did end up getting donated
to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America last night
at the Emmys. We're coming back with Alanis Morisset and
Adele next on Sunny Winter six point five.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
Good morning, you're listening to Sunny Mornings with Joanna and
Sean on Sonny one oh six point five.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
Sonny Wino six point five. Good morning, it's Sean. The
Emmys were last night. I didn't know till about halfway through,
but here are a few of the highlights. Outstanding Drama
Series went to the Noel Wiley medical thriller on Max
called The Pit. Outstanding Comedy Series went to seth Rogen's
Apple TV show The Studio. They cleaned up with ten
awards in just their first season. Now Nate Bargazy, comedian,

(13:13):
He hosted last night and at the top of the
show he said that he would donate one hundred thousand
dollars to the Boys and Girls Club of America with
one catch. If a speech ran longer than forty five seconds,
he would deduct one thousand dollars for every second that
it went too long. It made for some awkward moments
as the total went backwards throughout the night, But here's
how much money ended up getting donated.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Thanks to everyone. Here the number.

Speaker 6 (13:37):
I'll be honest with you, it was embarrassic.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
It went way.

Speaker 6 (13:40):
Down, and you know, I don't know, I can't imagine
ever doing this again. So I'm gonna CBS is gonna.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
Add one hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 6 (13:49):
I will give two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. It
takes us to three hundred fifty thousand dollars to the
Boys and Girls Club.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
You're good. Ask you guys so much for being out here. Hey,
maybe I'm never.

Speaker 4 (13:59):
Come all the way.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
Definitely ended on a feel good note last night again.
