Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is Sunnybeto was six point five. It's Sean and
I am not alone this morning. Finally, Good morning, Joanna,
and nice.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
To have you back.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
Yes, it's the return of Sunny Morning, the Joetta and Sean.
It's been a long four months. I mean, honestly, it
has felt like a blur to me having a new
baby in the mix. But you know, baby Isabella, she
came a month early, so I just felt like from
the beginning it was a total whirlwind.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
She is she's such like a literal doll, Like yeah,
can I can?
Speaker 1 (00:25):
I tell you though, I kind of feel like we've
been in the mix, even with you not here, because
of like the incredible photo shoots you're doing every month,
and look, i mean, live it up like they've they've
been beautiful, like adorable photos.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Well, listen, I feel like when you are on baby
number two, you do a lot of things differently than
you didn't or did do with baby number one. And
I do feel like it was a trial and error
with the first baby, and now baby number two. I'm like, Okay,
I didn't do I didn't take enough photos with Brock.
I need to take more photos of Isabella. I need
to get photos of them together. Like the time just
goes by so fast. You want to literally remember them
(00:58):
in every stage that they are in, rite in all
their glory and they change every day. But man, doesn't
she look like me?
Speaker 2 (01:05):
She's written out, she really does.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Like it's crazy, And I think that you have so
many photos, you're eventually going to be able to put
together one of those montage videos where you get to
see the little faces changing, like on a day by
day basis. I see, you should do that, just speed
it up over time.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
I should do that. Yeah, because I'm telling you, I
feel like I was just saying this to my husband
over the weekend. I was like, wow, Like I remember
the first week we were home and how it was
just we had nothing prepared, right because she came four
weeks early. And so here we are now in a
bit of our new routine. Like that's gonna take a while,
Like it's only four months. We're not in a full
(01:43):
fledged routine, but we are starting to get our stride back.
And Listen, I love my job, and so for me,
I'm excited to come back to work.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
I know, not everybody always feels that way. I do
feel very fortunate in that respect, but to add that
piece to the puzzle, it's just going to help the
routine get stronger and we're building on it every day.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yeah, I thing's got to be very different now with
two kids in the mix. Right, So for in a
couple of minutes, let's come back here and let's talk
about I want I want to hear from you and
your words. You're you're feeling walking through the door, like
the first day back in the office.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
Yes, lots of jitters, of course, but we'll dive into it.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Love that Natalie Imbrulia and Alicia Keys next on Sunnybito
six point five Wake.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
Up with Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on Sonny
one oh six point five.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Ooh, I feel like that's my theme song this morning.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
What's going on?
Speaker 4 (02:30):
It's Jordana and Sean right here on Sonny What was
six point five? Thrilled to be back in studio with you,
Sean this morning, Thrilled to be back on the Vegas airwaves.
Let's have some fun headed into the best time.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
Of the year.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
It really is. I love fall, especially here in southern Nevada.
It's just gorgeous out now. Speaking of fall. You left
in the spring, like you missed all of summer, so
it's been a minute. But I was curious about, you know,
what was the feeling when you were walking through the
doors for the first time coming into the building having
been gone for so long.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Well, I got to admit something to you, Okay, So
I of course was very excited to come back. I
love my job, I love working with you, love working
with our team. Like, I'm stoked to be back. But
I'm not gonna lie. There were a lot of like
reservations and nerves and all that stuff because it's like
my baby's four months right and it's like I've spent
every single waking moment with her, so you know, it's
(03:24):
definitely was a transition. And so you know what I.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Did last night, No what you do?
Speaker 3 (03:28):
I asked chat gpt give me some motivational advice that's
so great on how to get back into the office
after maternity to leave.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
I've you know what's crazy?
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Can I also missing to you? This is the first
time I've used chat GPT.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Okay, Well, so that's a good reason to use it.
I've actually read stories recently that people are using chat
GPT as their therapist. But what I want to hear
from you is what a chat GPT tell you. That's
the question. What did it say?
Speaker 3 (03:55):
I'm gonna pull it up, because you know what happened
was is, you know, we put the kids to bed
and my husband gets up very early too, so you know,
he's like Joe, like I'm being I'm so tired, and
all I wanted to do was talk because I felt
like the nerves coming back on right and so like
when that happens, I just want to talk to somebody,
and he was going to bed, and so it was
like I could have had anybody to talk to. So
(04:15):
what do I do? What I do? I'm panicking. I'm like,
why am I panicking? So that's when I turned to
chat GPT and it was the first time I ever
went to it, and I literally felt kind of silly
doing it, but it was pretty awesome because it was
very therapeutic. I'm not gonna lie and I told jet
chat GPT, Hey, I have a lot of anxiety this evening.
I'm going back to work tomorrow after four months of
(04:36):
attorney leave. Can you please give me some advice to
feel better? And the thing is is chat GPT talks
to you like a therapist.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
I'm sure it does, and.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
It was pretty incredible, and I mean, I mean it
goes on and on gives me a lot of advice,
but it starts off with I hear you, which I
thought was just so funny.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
That is so insane to me.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
I hear It's like, is what do they call it
when you personify like an inanimate object?
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Right?
Speaker 2 (05:01):
The humanification? I'm not using the right word, but that's why.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
But if I was talking to an actual human being,
that's exactly what I'd want somebody to say to me
to calm me down instantly, is I hear you and
then chat. GBT goes on to say, transitions like this
are emotional, especially when it's the first time leaving your
baby after months. Here's a few thoughts how you may
help ease the anxiety and guild tonight and tomorrow. And
some of these topics were, how to reframe my mom guilt,
(05:26):
focus on the positives for your baby, prepare a small
comfort ritual, be gentle with yourself tomorrow, carve out special
connection time and tonight focus on rest, leave the what ifs.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
At home a comfort ritual.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
First of all, those are that's incredible advice from chat GPT.
I mean, I mean, what an amazing array of suggestions.
Speaker 3 (05:49):
I would agree.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Let's do this. Let's play a couple of songs here.
I want to hear what your comfort ritual is. We'll
talk about.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Comfort us Perfect Sune six.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
It is a return of Sunday Mornings with Joanna and Sean.
Good morning at Joanna. You were saying before you came
in for your first day, you asked chat GPT for advice. Yeah,
like almost like a therapist, right, And a lot of
people are doing that, so I don't blame you at
all for doing that. One of the things that mentioned
was a comfort ritual. Develop a comfort ritual.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
So basically I was feeling all the anxiety and mom
gil was leaving my baby at home or turning to work,
and that's why I turned to chat GPT for some
advice and one of the things they said was to
prepare a small comfort ritual. Now, I think this is
in regards to the baby. This is what it says,
whether it's leaving a blanket or a recording of your
voice for the caregiver, having a goodbye phrase you repeat
(06:46):
each morning. Rituals will help both you and your baby
feel connected. So that was the advice that chat GPT
gave to me. And so what I ended up doing
is my husband and I every single night we split
the duties of Isabelle gets up right. Usually he gets
the first wake up. I get the last one. But
now because our schedules have shifted, I'm getting the first
(07:06):
one and she's sleeping a lot longer. So my comfort
ritual is I want to be the first person when
she wakes up, no matter what time of night it is.
And so I switched the shift with my husband just
so I could have that little extra time that I
know I wouldn't be getting in the mornings anymore. And
so I had a new shift last night, and it
just allowed me to have that little extra time with Isabella,
(07:26):
looking at her, you know, feeding her, doing all that
good stuff. That just made me feel more connected. And
you know, again it's finding our new routine. See, I
think I need a comfort ritual. I don't think I
have one in my life like my comfort ritual. And
I'm ashamed to say this is lying on my back
in my bed, scrolling my phone mindlessly before I finally
decide to close it and go to sleep. Now, I
(07:48):
think if we were to ask chat GBT if that
was a good idea, they would absolutely tell you that
is a terrible Hell.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Do you want to doom scroll?
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Do you want to see the worst things happening in
the world on your phone right before sleep?
Speaker 4 (07:58):
Not do that.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
I just a flat with bad news that you can
stare at for an hour.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Yeah, I think you need to cut that immediately. Yeah,
And that is one thing I've tried to do over
the maternity time too, is kind of put my phone
down more, pick up a book more.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Now.
Speaker 3 (08:10):
I know that books are not for everybody and whatnot,
but I have found pleasure in that. But I think
even small comfort rituals like this morning, I got a
pumpkin chai like latte, right yeah, yeah, Like I was
super stoked to come in, but I was even more
stoked when I was like, I'm going to get the
pumpkin chi last act like. So adding even just a
little treaty treat for yourself can be a comfort ritual.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Sometimes that is all it takes. Right.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
We have tried instituting a little quiet reading time after
dinner at home.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Okay, but with the kids or with adult reading okay
with the kids.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
So like Hallo, my sexter old girl, she has to
read for fifteen or twenty minutes on her own, and
we do the same. We're trying to, like kind of,
I think for the same reason, my wife and I
have been feeling like, you know what, we all need
to do some family reading and the living room.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Maybe that counts as a comfort ritual.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
Absolutely it does. And yeah, I think, you know, not
knocking your current comfort ritual, but yeah, that Doom's scrolling
can be the worst.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
Yeah, it really can.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
And I just feel like it just heightens anxiety. And
again it's like you know, social media and the internet
these days, it can be a highlight reel for people,
or it can be just the gamut of depression. So
it's like you don't know what you're gonna get. But nonetheless,
he doesn't always make you feel good.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
No, you know, my wife has a great comfort ritual.
She does her whole skincare routine. Okayfore bed, I love
that I need to borrow a note from that. She's trying,
like heck to get me to like do more skincare stuff.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Well, listen, I feel like that is something that you
could absolutely incorporate. My husband has stolen some some of
my clinique products, so I'm trying to get him on
a cheaper skincare routine. He doesn't need the expensive stuff
like me. He needs the cheaper stuff.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Oh man, we do.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
We're worth it, Sun Motto six point side.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
I gotta tell you, Joanna, you picked a heck of
a day to come back here to sne even a
six point five you cave does in time for some
like really great con testing.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
I feel like we got to bring the positive energy
headed into the happiest time of the year, and that
means sprinkling in some holiday magic because the Queen of
Christmas is going to light up the Las Vegas strips
starting in November.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
So Mariah Carey, she was, by the way, incredible at
our iHeart Ratio Music Festival. We were taking bets on
whether or not she would do any Christmas songs. She
did not, but she's because she is saving it for
Dolby Live at Park MGM, So Christmas time in Las Vegas,
that's her residency. And starting today, we're gonna have a
chance for you to win tickets four times a day
with talk back for tickets. First one is gonna be
(10:33):
at at nine forty. Of course there's cash.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Bye.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Look, I feel like you chose today, like cash has come.
I want to come back. I want to I want
to bribe people with money. I want to buy people's loves.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
Listen, I mean gott to bring the fun and the prizes, right,
And that's exactly what we're doing.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
So besides Mariah Carey, besides the Christmas cash, we also
have an incredible name drop contest. Everybody has been talking
about Universal Horror Unleashed, Oh my gosh, and with it
being now spooky season, I feel like it's officially spooky season.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
October is this week for a lot of people that
started like August three, honest right, especially.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
In the stores. So I've seen some incredible things and
have read and heard of the incredible reviews about Universal
Horror Unleased. And I love to be scared. So I'm
so excited about this.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
I hate being scared so much.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
I mean, I love it.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
I still subject myself to it, but I scream like
a little girl when I am going through. Oh, I'm
the most I'm the jumpiest, Like I will shriek. You will,
you will think I was my daughter, You say is
that hallow. Is that your six year old daughter hallow
that is screaming, and that somebody goes save that little
girl's life.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
I feel like we.
Speaker 6 (11:44):
Need to go pro you and go through that together
because I think it's gonna be so much upon And
what's so crazy is like the past few Halloween seasons,
I've either been pregnant or trying to get pregnant, so
I've stayed away from like haunted attractions, but.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Now not pregnant and ready to be scared. So this
is such a huge prize, and you have two chances
each morning to win a four pack of tickets to
Universal Horror Unleashed.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
So that's the name drop. We do it at seven
forty and eight forty. I feel like we've been literally
for the last several months. It's been NonStop, like we
have just been back to back back with great giveaways,
whether with Disneyland or Lego Land or Universal Studios or
SeaWorld or Sesame place. What we just wrapped up here
Not's Berry Farm for not for not Scary Farm, and
(12:29):
now we're rolling right into Universal Horror Unleashed, which is
like this is such a taste of Hollywood horror, right
here in our own backyard area fifteen.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I've seen nothing but incredible reviews.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
I know I cannot wait, and everybody wants this ticket.
And we have four packs again seven forty eight forty
with the name drop. So you gotta sign up Sonny
one O six five dot com and be listening at
those times.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
Speaking of listening, we have four non blondes on the way,
Adele and uh Oh. Speaking of spooky season, rockwell, some
banks are watching me on the way.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Next on Sunny.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
This is Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean. On Sunny
one six point five.
Speaker 1 (13:07):
Sunny one was six point five. It's Sunny Mornings with
Joanna and Sean. I gotta tell you, Joanna, for the
last four months, Yeah, it is I wouldn't say difficult,
but it is like it is a chore.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Not no, I don't say.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Also feels mean to say it's not a chore trying
to find good news. But sometimes it is a bit
of a challenge finding a sunny story today.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Absolutely, you have to fill third through a lot of
not so good stuff to find the good stuff. But
it's always out there, and we love when we can
highlight good stuff within our community.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
For sure, so what you got today, it's your first
sunny story back.
Speaker 3 (13:37):
Absolutely, So the whole Las Vegas community has a chance
to come together to help a fallen officer's dream and
it's happening this Friday at the South Point. Now, back
in two thousand and six, Metropolitan Police Department Sergeant Henry
Prendeses was shot and killed in the line of duty.
And of course that loss was tragic for so many people,
(14:00):
not even close to him, but for our community. But
that tragedy has turned into triumph because Henry's wife decided
to follow through on his dream, which was to have
a camp where underprivileged kids could have life changing experiences
brought to reality. And that camp is about to celebrate
six years in existence. So the fundraiser for that is
(14:22):
happening this Friday.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Okay, So that's a very amazing cause.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Yeah, I mean, is that something to be able to
think about doing something like that and then have your
family follow through on for you when you're when you're
no longer around.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Is that that's some really touching stuff? What's that? Do
you know the name of the camp?
Speaker 1 (14:40):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (14:40):
So the organization is Henry's Place, and this was of
course created for Henry's memory and his wife down is
the one who really followed through now, she said, since
the first camp back in twenty sixteen, they have obviously
been very committed to providing free, in life changing summer
campings experiences for kids in our community who need it,
(15:02):
because just one week of camp can truly transform a
child's life. So the sixth Annual Country Jamboree Fundraiser is
happening at the south Point this Friday to raise funds.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
That's crazy. I like how you said that, like a
single week at camp can change lives. Yeah. I remember
going to some camps when I was a kid for
just like a weekend that I still remember New Years.
You build some real strong memories there. And by the way,
shout out to south Point. They always do a great
job down there, Like they always have great customer service,
great shows, So shout out to them for putting the
show on too.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
Yeah, this is pretty incredible. So if you are looking
for a great opportunity to give back for a very
special cause, you can learn more about the sixth Annual
Country Jamboree fundraiser again happening this Friday at south Point.
All the details up right now, at Sunday when it
was six five dot com just click on Sunny Mornings
Sunny one or six point.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
The Beach Boys on Sunday one was six point five.
We've shaken things up a little bit since you've been gone.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
That would surprise me. I love the Beach Boys mainly
because John Stamos plays drums for them these days, but
I love them.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Forever no matter what John Stamos, he sure does. You're
blowing my mind right now. Can't get how could that
band get any more handsome?
Speaker 2 (16:13):
I guess right.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
Just adds is the return of little victories today, by
the way, So we're.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Gonna share some little victories.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
If you've got one, you can call us up anytime
on Monday mornings and we'll start with Carrie here in
Lone Mountain.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
You got a little victory today that you're proud of.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Yes, I'm so proud. I got the holiday picture done
with the kids and the pet.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
Everyone is basically looking in.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
The same direction, So.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
It's a wind.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
We're done.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
What you got the holiday photos done before October? First?
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Oh my, I feel like you're making all the rest
of us over here look like about the slackers. It's
not even October.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Yet that's okay, I get on it. It's the worst.
Speaker 5 (16:53):
Get on it.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Like nobody wants the holiday cards from you any mark,
you know, just all.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Right, let's go.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I love that. Good for you, Carrie.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Seriously, you are very inspirational. You're inspiring us this morning
to get on it.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
All right. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
I gotta tell you, Joanna, we uh every year we
do this thing where we don't get the holiday cards out,
and my wife goes, you know, we should send New
Year's cards. Let's get on it, and then it never
we have not. We didn't send a card last year.
We've been saying this for years now.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
E Liza, you know I'm all about the holiday cards.
But Carrie definitely reminded me. I've got to add that
into my October to do list.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
So do you have any little victories of yourself?
Speaker 1 (17:31):
I mean, I would say you guys, just being here
on a Monday today is probably a little victory, honestly.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
And I honestly, I think the biggest victory, biggest little
victory in my life that I'm celebrating is that I
just have my daughter Isabella on a really great sleep
schedule right now, Like that was tough to do it first.
But I feel like I honestly have her on a
great sleep schedule and she sleeps through the night. And
I don't know, I'm patting myself on the back for that. Okay,
give me that victory.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
That's that's better than a that's a pretty big victory.
Because yeah, because little victory, right.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Joanna, I don't have myself on a good sleep schedule.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Legacy because you doom this girl. I know. No, I don't, right, No,
I definitely do.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
No.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
That's that's that's pretty monstrous though, getting getting a four
month old onto a good sleep schedule usually I feel
like it usually takes a lot longer than that.
Speaker 3 (18:16):
I feel that's why I'm celebrating.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
I think that's honestly why I have so much energy
this Monday morning.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
I spep good last night.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Speaking of little victories, we have some big ones on
the way for you here this morning coming up at
seven forty that's gonna be your first chance of the
morning to when your into Universal Horror Unleashed.
Speaker 2 (18:33):
It's day one of the name drop for that.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Absolutely get signed up right now at sundywodow six five
dot com and be listening like Sean said, first chance
seven forty, but again at eight forty.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
And of course Mariah Carey tickets day day one to
see her Christmas residency at Dolby Live in Park.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
Mgm oh, that's.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Gonna be so good. And you have four chances to
get your name in the drawing for those tickets.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
That's right, first ones coming up here at nine to forty.
Stick around Benson, Boone and Sink and Sam Smith on
the way next on Sunny.
Speaker 5 (19:02):
You're listening to Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean on
Sunny one oh six point five.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
How's your first day back going.
Speaker 5 (19:08):
It's going good.
Speaker 4 (19:09):
I'm grooving to all this new variety we've thrown into
the mix here on Sunday Winter six point five, and
we have the.
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Best giveaways in town. I've been saying that for years,
but coming back this Monday, I am reminded of just that.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Right.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
I would say the music is the best it's ever
been right now. But also we have our name drop
back this morning. I think this is the first time
we've ever done a local spot for the name Drop
because it's just so cool.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
This is awesome.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Universal Horror Unleashed the year round terrifying attraction that has
opened over at Area fifteen. But what better time of
the year to go than now.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
This is gonna be so cool. I feel like so
many people have been talking about this and saying how
good it is. I mean, it's universal, right, so it's
like like obviously movie quality scares. It's gonna be epic.
Everybody wants these tickets. And of course you had to
sign up.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
For your chance to win, and we do it twice
a morning. We're gonna do one of them right now.
So if we don't have your name, give us your
name at sunny Wino six five dot com so we
can pull it out of our digital hat over here.
Denise Hurley is who we're looking for right now. Denise Hurley,
call us back at seven oh two seven nine to
six one oh six five. You got ten minutes to
call back and claim those tickets, Denise Hurley seven oh
(20:16):
two seven nine six one oh six five.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
Good luck, Denise, and hey, good luck to my mom
and dad this this week too, because you told me
that it's the end of an error for something that
has been so important in their life for so long.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
Yes, hold on, let me see, let me see if
I can make this a little bit, las. I heard that. Yeah, yeah,
you heard it. You heard it.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
This is this is going away for good as of tomorrow.
Dial Up internets on America Online going away permanently on
September thirtieth, which is tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
I get hold, let me turn this off. That's enough
that happened.
Speaker 3 (20:50):
I mean that sound is so iconic to the nineties
and early two thousands, right, I mean everybody knows that sound,
and this move marks the end of an era for AO. Well,
I mean to not have dial up anymore. Parents, grandparents, everywhere,
not happy.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
I remember, I don't think I don't think jen Alpha.
Maybe gen Z knows the word, but I don't think
jen Alpha has ever or will ever use the word modem.
I remember distinctly going to best Buy with my dad
for our Tower PC and trying with shopping for a modem,
talking to best Buy and employees.
Speaker 2 (21:24):
So what does the speed here? Is it? Fifty six
silabytes per second?
Speaker 3 (21:28):
Oh my gosh, and that sound again, Like you said,
it's like certain generations at one point is not gonna
have any idea what we're talking about when we're talking
about dial up. It's like, wait, you had to wait
before you could get connected, Like, how dam that be
a thing? But that was a thing and we loved it.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Look, we had to install second phone lines in some cases,
and bells is just because it would tie up the
first phone line.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Right.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
So I would come home from school, I would eat
my cereal, I would watch Total Requests Live.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
With What's his Face?
Speaker 1 (21:57):
With Car and then you'd go the computer room, the
one room of the house you had the internet access, right,
and then you would say, is anyone using the phone?
And you would dial up and you'd connect to aol.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
Oh man, you were bringing me back this morning. But seriously,
it's so crazy to say the end of an error.
After thirty years, dial up no longer going to be
a thing.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
S six.
Speaker 4 (22:23):
Sunny Mornings with Joanna and Sean right here.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
On Sunny one o six point five, and it's time
for a little victory. We're bringing it back. We're celebrating
the winds in your life. So if you have something
to share, give us a call. Seven oh two seven
nine six one oh six five And oh Jason has
been on hold. Good morning, Jason. We want to hear
about your little victory. What's going on?
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Oh man?
Speaker 3 (22:45):
So you know, I had a tire that was leaking
air and I wouldn't care about I'm gonna have.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
To buy a new tire, right, But they just plugged it,
didn't even talk to me. Twenty bucks and I'm good
to go. So yeah, yeah, big victory, little victory. It
feels it does? It does feel big. That's that's a
few hundred extra bucks you got in your your pocket.
That's big.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
I mean, with everything costing the way it does, that's
that's a victory, my man.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Yeah, I don't know what it is about buying tires,
but it's never glamorous, is it. No, And it's just
it's an expense.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
I don't account for it. So I'm very glad. I'm
just plugged, move on right exactly.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
Why why is it, Joanna, that tires they always sneak
up on you?
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Like seriously, thank you, Jason.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Well, Jason, we're happy for you that you get to
head into the rest of the week with some extra
money in your pocket.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
Yeah, take an extra bucks. And I feel like, man,
I never ever account for tires. I don't know never
did you ever?
Speaker 4 (23:41):
Never?
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Joanna?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
Look ahead and think like, wow, I have thirty two
thousand miles on these tires.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
I should probably I.
Speaker 3 (23:46):
Mean to be I'm going to be one hundred percent
honest with you. I don't have a budget for anything
car related, right Like, I'm like, oh, I've got car
insurance with the big STUFFU but whatever. But it's those
little things that pop up that certain things aren't covered
that you're like, oh my gosh, I forgot about this.
Speaker 2 (23:59):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
I feel like I don't know anything about my tires
until I go in for an oil change.
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Yeah, And then one of the.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Texts is like, hey, by the way, you're gonna die.
Speaker 2 (24:09):
Oh my god, but your tires are bald. What have
you been doing? You need new tires?
Speaker 1 (24:14):
And then they show them to me, and I'm like,
why do I not pay attention to that kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
I'm a grown man.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
You should be attended to that stuff because it's scary,
especially on these roads these days with all the construction
everywhere and everything.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
It's like, you gotta really pay attention to.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
That, especially if you gotta take like a road trip
or something anytime. See and I know a lot of
people make that track, like to and from LA or
like any of the other big cities around.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Here absolutely, And I mean we come to downtown Las
Vegas and there is so much construction everywhere. I'm like, yeah,
I'm probably gonna get something in my tire. So I
feel like, now we're talking about it, I'm probably gonna
will that into my universe. And I don't have that expense,
so I need to like figure out a way to
make sure my tires are good.
Speaker 2 (24:50):

little bit. It is day one. Joanne is back in studio.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
That's right, we want to highlight a great event that's
happening this Friday at the South Point. Now, this Friday,
the whole Las Vegas community can join together to celebrate
and remember a fallen officer's dream. Now, back in February
of two thousand and six, it looks like Las Vegas
Autropolitan Police Department Sergeant Henry Pride. He was shot and
(27:04):
killed in the line of duty. Now, his wife wanted
to make sure that Henry's dream came alive no matter what,
which was to have a camp where underprivileged kids could
have life changing experiences. And that reality became a thing
here in our community and has happened for six years.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
So it's called Henry's Place.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
Henry's place, Henry's Place, and I know it's like a
week of camp, right and to change his lives. Oh
and now we mentioned this earlier, but I mean I've
had weekends, just a couple of days at camp when
I was a kid with some sort of a sleep
away camp but a ranch or something that I still
have fond memories of. So giving these kids an entire
week to build memories with friends that desperately need it
in their life super cool cause.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
And uh, what is what exactly is the benefit?
Speaker 5 (27:48):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (27:49):
So what happens is this Friday at the South Point
they will be hosting the sixth annual Country Jamboree fundraiser.
It's going to be so much fun and all the
proceeds will benefit Henry's Place and of course getting kids
to have great summer camp experiences, changing lives right here
in the community. And if you want to learn more,
maybe attend on Friday as well. All the details that

Speaker 1 (28:18):
Yeah, I mean to be able to continue your husband's
legacy like that. Gosh, it's so It's so incredibly touching
to know that he had this dream and to I
mean it's a lot of work too, I mean to
put a camp together.
