it's Joanna and it Shan and one of our favorite
girls in tag Laura Foster is joining us in a
studio this morning from Opportunity Village.

We're excited to have you the Magical Forest. We are
proud partners and supporters of the Magical Forest four years now,
all benefiting Opportunity Village. Tell us what's to expect this season?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
We have so much going on at the Magical Forest.
Of course, we have our popular beer garden. We have
a brand new vendor village with gifts treasures. We even
have ov artwork studio items out there, so if you've
seen the ov Heart we talked about in October around
you can pick up a hot or bag there. And
of course we have the Magical Forest Holiday Lights Walking Path,

which is in its thirty third season this wow.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
So this is an all ages event to bring and
a place to bring your family to. Can you tell us?
I know you have a new partnership with your beer
garden with a local brewer here. I think it might
be myself be excited about we do.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
You might be excited, but able Baker is our sponsor
for our beer garden this year, and we have a
special brew. It's called It Takes a Village. It's a
hot chocolate stout and so it's available at the Magical
Forest and at the Able Baker tap Room for a
truly magical partnership.

Oh and one hundred percent of the proceeds from that
drink goes right back to Opportunity Village.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Yeah, it's amazing, which this is all.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
About this time of the year, right, And I do
love walking through the actual forest. Sunny one oh six
point five has a tree out there look for ours.
But what great partnerships you have with so many great
organizations that decorate those trees and truly take pride in them.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
They do. People come out, They make it a team
building exercise with departments, business owners come out. They really
take time and dedicate it. They design the whole tree.
And then that way the community can come through and
see who supports Opportunity Village throughout the year, including Sunny
Windows six point five. Thank you guys. But it really
is it's just a celebration of the community at the

Magical Forest. It's such a special place to be. It
really does have that hometown feel while also providing true entertainment.
We've got the food, the rides, the shopping, and the beer.

I always have to remind myself every day that somebody
might be hearing Sunny one to six point five for
the first time or learning you an Opportunity Village for
the first time. So for anyone who might be one
of those people, could you just walk people through what
your mission is and who you serve here in Southern Nevada.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Opportunity Village has been around since nineteen fifty four, so
for seventy one years we've served people with intellectual and
developmental disabilities. We do that through workforce training. We also
provide direct employment to people, so you'll see people working
out in the community that maybe have started with Opportunity
Village and then grown into community employment at places like Starbucks,

(02:45):
Freddie's Steakburgers. We also provide dahabilitation programs, so if your
loved one has an intellectual disability, it can come to
Opportunity Village and interact, socialize, learn things like reading and arithmetis,
and really just have a fabulous life. A lot of
people find passions at OV they become artists, they become musicians.

(03:09):
Some learn learn that they love to work and they
want to get a job.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Absolutely. I mean, you guys just do so much. I'm
telling you that Opportunity Village tour if you've never done it,
it is life changing. And to be able to see
the work firsthand while touring your incredible campuses really is
something that I'll never forget, Like, it's amazing and Laura
of the work that your team does is amazing too.
So we want everybody to support the Magical Force this year.

five dollars. We do have a few discounts if you
go in person to the ticket office, but if you
want to skip the lines, my pro tip is to
