imotis and we are going to chit chat with y'all
because we have so much that's been going on and
we wanted to take a moment, take a pause from
our beautiful and lovely talented guests.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
We've had some amazing guests.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
We've had some pretty good First of all, when's Maxwell
coming back to do his part two?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
He's ready, He's ready for Part two. Wendy's ready to
come in for part two.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Yeah, we need meditation. We need to talk about Nickelodeon
because he left us. Let's rephrase and clarify Maxwell is
not meditating with us. That's Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
That's Wednesday.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Wednesday, that's Wendy. But Max does have to talk to
us about Nickelodeon. But let's really talk about what we
alluded to in the last episode. All right, everyone, if
you're driving, you're sitting, if you're standing or on the treadmill,
take a pause, sit down. Because the Teach Me Something

(01:43):
Podcast is officially an.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Award podcat.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Insort the Airhorns amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I love it. So we won the inaugural category of
Educational Podcast. We won the Silver Davy Award, which is
a prestigious creative marketing award, and we were right behind NFL.
So I don't know about you, pro but.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Equit do you just skyrocket?

Speaker 2 (02:15):
It just skyrocketed. We have to find out has anyone
else in the iHeart Podcast realm Wana Davy M.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I don't know, but I guess who did? We did?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
We did?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I love it, but you know, shout out to the
entire team that makes this world.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Go round and a lot of people behind the scenes
would make this happen.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
And this season we will be doing an episode where
we're going to be taking a look at behind the
pod and bringing everyone in so they can talk about
what they do, how we do it, how it runs.
Because if it wasn't for that team, we would not
be award.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Winning, would awards, nor will we have podcasts going on?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
No, which brings us to he doesn't know this, but
we're going to bring our producer, Peter in the booth
with us.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Peter gave us the only look guy from behind the
the plexi. He's like, please now, yeah, he's gonna sit
with you.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Peter. There, you have to see Peter.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Hi, Peter, take it.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
You made sure the microphone was on.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Before you walked over here, right, Yeah, sure of that, Peter,
All right, how are you?

Speaker 4 (03:25):
It's like, look at two.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
People, Yeah, looking at your phone the whole time, wearing hair.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
We're like, did we do well? Just thumbs up, keep
it moving, No one cares.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Peter.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
What is it like being a producer.

Speaker 4 (03:38):
It's very cool. It's uh yeah, it's best company ever
because we love it. But yeah, no, it's very cool.
It's a lot of creative people, a lot of fun
and uh.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
And you hear everything first before anybody else does.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Yes, and I have to edit everything.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
And then I you know, for those of you that
don't know. So we have a mini button board here
and we have on off cough, and I turn our
mics off so pro and I can talk about things unfiltered,
and every time I look down, Peter just turns them
back on so he could hear everything, and he records.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
That's how you know he's a pro because a lot
of times records some of the best things.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
The best content is filmed when when nobody's looking, or things.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
That we don't want air and Peter leaves them in
the edit.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I mean, I'm cool with everything going.

Speaker 4 (04:28):
To be part of the uh teach me something documentary
I'm working on.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
Oh there you go behind something behind the scenes.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Do we keep you on your toes Peter, Yes, yes,
it's fine. You don't have to lie to us.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
I get plenty of editing time with this podcast.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah. I feel like we wait, did not so well.
Penny's probably the type of we hit you to tell
you things right, just uh.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, no, It's just it's a lot of fun with
two different people, two different voices, so you get.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
To he's saying fun. What that means is.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Is that I'm loud in your court work, and.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
You know I would love you guys were headphones. That'd
be cool.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Do you want us to do we have headphones?

Speaker 4 (05:13):
We don't, but I'm sure Pro.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
We can try it. You want to bring in your
DJ equipment?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Yeah? I mean do you want me to DJ also?
And put a bet in?

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Like a little sound machine here, Peter, we should do that. Well,
we have like a little sound we should little.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I feel like.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
That's what we're missing in the edits of the podcast. Yeah,
be a little bit more animated. I feel like it's
season two. Why not?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
This is escalating into more work.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
You know, well, Pro, you have to step up, you
know your game here just a little bit. I'm just saying, uh,
bring the DJ skills in. But Peter, we did want
to give you something very cool. So for those of
you listening, we have here the Davy Award official certificate

(06:02):
for Peter as the producer of They teach me.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
He's getting this before.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
We haven't received ours yet. It's still in the mail,
but here's yours, Peter.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Very cool. Look at that and it's framed and everything. Yes,
oh that's a nice that's a nice award, very cool.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Very nice, and it shines and everything. So I'm just
gonna say this, Peter on air. I don't know about
the other podcasts that you work with, but we gave
you a framed award.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yes. Wow, he's like, I'm putting this with my other awards.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
No, it's very cool. I appreciate it. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You deserve it, man, No, you deserve it.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Are you going to hang it at home or in
your booth?

Speaker 4 (06:40):
In my booth, show off to all my coworkers and
you can be.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Like what I got, guys, and you know you do?
You put that there to set the tone with everybody else.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Oh yeah, but with the holidays coming up, we put
some Christmas lights on there.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
You go. Cool. Congratulations man, congratulations for you.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
I love it and I just want to say that
this award. When we submitted for this award, the podcast
was only out for two months, so we were a
baby pod and we're behind NFL. Guys.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
What you saying? The only people that beat us was
the NFL.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
The NFL.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
You've heard of them before, you know, with the football.
I'm so happy you didn't say the wrong sport or something.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Okay, here's anxious to get back behind Peter. Thank you
for joining us.

Speaker 4 (07:28):
On the AGA. Thank you, Coure, appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
Absolutely.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Shout out to Picture and you know what. As we're
speaking about accolades and achievements, props to DJ pro Style.
I'm not going to drop the government, but props to you.
Thank you in your promotion. All right, tell the people
what you've won.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
I've won won more work Okay, now, No, I was
recently promoted to the apposition, which is the assistant program
director for five point one New York. So definitely a
huge accomplishment and uh and something that I'm very proud
of and very happy to do.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
I am so proud of you, and I'm so happy
for you because not many know all of the work
that you do behind the scenes, and you do quite
a bit. And we always make jokes here because you're like,
Penny is the one that works, but you are busy
to there's no capacity.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
Yeah, yeah, there really is no schedule when it comes
to the music industry, like you know, yeah, depending on
what you do. But I always say, like it's not
a nine to five, you know this this game can
require work and your time and your you know, your
effort or whatever at any given time, whether it's in
the morning or the afternoon, midday or the overnight hours.

Speaker 4 (08:47):
You know.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
Yeah, so it's a it's an overall three hundred and
sixty five you know degree thing.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Yeah. I wish we would have had confetti and it's
just like shooting insert the confetti insert.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
No, but it's great. It's great.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
So definitely an accomplishment for me. And shout to THEA
Mitcham from making it happen. Obviously she's the one who
makes it. Which we have to get THEA on the
podcast we do now we do. I'm going to be like,
I need you on the podcast.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Well there you go inside the right. So yeah, yeah,
so it'd be great to get her on here.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I mean, she's talking about accomplishments and we'd have to
we need like a two hour episode for her.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
But no, So what does this mean for your brand now?

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Right?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Because you have your brand as DJ pro Style you
do mixes with you Yeah, so you're you know, one
of the masses of KTU you do stuff with Z
now you're you know, with power on the admin side.
So what does that just.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Musically adding more work, just adding more work for my brand.
It's just I think it's something. First of all, it's
something I've already been doing for a long time, which
in the industry a lot of people know. So before
before this position, you know, around the right up to COVID,
I was already the music director for for Power on
five point one and I was on air there. Then

(10:02):
I took an opportunity to go down to Florida, move
with the family, did the whole Florida thing for a year,
was down there, shot to the amazing people in Florida,
did a bunch of things out there. I've been very
blessed in my career to be able to have these
opportunities to expand the brand. And I think it all
goes back to it. And I always tell people, I've
never been scared, and I've never been scared to step

(10:23):
outside the box or your comfort zone like people say,
right like, there's a lot of people who say, hey,
I'm doing great. So you know, there's been plenty times
in my career where I've gone to a point where
I'm very successful at something and I could sit there
and just do that, right, But I've always wanted more.
When I say I always wanted more doesn't necessarily mean like, oh, financially,

(10:43):
like I want more money or more of this. I
just wanted to learn more. I've always been a student
of the game, right I've been doing this is all
I do, right, Like I've been doing music. I didn't
have the opportunity to go to college or anything like that.
And I don't say it in a bad way. I'm
just I was already on mainstream radio when I was
in high schoo so as soon as I came out,
I was already up and running, like, this is what
I do, right, So music and this music career, in

(11:08):
this this industry, in this game I've been blessed enough
to be in for three decades essentially, right if I
do my math correct almost.

Speaker 4 (11:17):
You know, And.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
This is just what I do, so you know, being
able to grow in it has always been the goal,
right Like, So you know, I started, as you know,
a guy in the overnights coming in to do one
mix on at one in the morning in Florida, and
before that was on college radio, you know, in Florida.
So it's like and then to make it to the number,

(11:40):
the number one market and be on the biggest hip
hop brand for the for the music that I love
right in the country, if not the world, with some
of the biggest shows. You know, you have the Breakfast
Club Angie Martinez, you know DJ Cluties are all you know,
not only just friends and family, but pioneers in this game,
some of the biggest voices and people who also set

(12:02):
and pave the way for all of us. Right So
to be able to work with them and to be
in the same building, you know, throughout all these years,
has just been a blessing in its own So to
be able to grow and to take on more responsibility,
it has always been something that I haven't been scared
or I shy away from. It's not for everybody, right,
So everyone can't do everything. That's just fine.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
You can't trust everyone, yeah, so, and and some people
are comfortable and that's fine. I've learned.

Speaker 3 (12:27):
I've learned by trying to force others into doing some
things where I want them to grow more and realize
it's just not for them. And then you realize that
not everyone is willing to step away, step outside of
their comfort zone, or some people are are happy in
the place that they're at and that's fine.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Also, and that's fine some people are.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
Absolutely That's why I said not everything is for everybody,
and people say that, and it's actually true, right, you
can't expect everybody to want to do everything right, So
all you could really do is control your own, you know,
choices that you make. And with this opportunity I have
is you know, it's just to grow and to do
more and to and to learn. And I'm going to

(13:08):
learn more things, uh in this position. And we've already
talked about some amazing things we're going to work on,
and I'm just looking forward to to twenty twenty six
and what that brings mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
So excited for you. But that and we've talked about
this several times over the two seasons of the podcast
of get out of your comfort zone, yes, right, and
push yourself and that's where true growth comes from.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
You know. And it's something that I teach to my
kids now, right, and even as young as they are,
you know, my oldest now in our house being nine, right,
and you know, they're all into sports, like academically, we
push them obviously to be their best. Like we we
we've always been on top of our kids, making sure
that they're ahead of the curve with learning, with reading,

(13:55):
with this writing, and you know, making sure that they're
doing good in school because that comes first, right, But
right now they're they're really enough sports like where we're like,
now me and my wife have become sports parents.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Bro that rigor I can't keep up. I was so
excited through that whole football journey, right, and the hockey
and everything, and then you made a post Okay, now
we're going to the next sport, and I'm like, okay, wait,
but that was like two days ago, Like, give me
some time to absorb.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
I think that's for you. How about us, right, I
was like, yeah, and so how many sports?

Speaker 3 (14:28):
So so our oldest is playing right now, lacrosse, right,
that's what he's in right now. Our male child is
playing lacrosse and hockey, so he's in those two sports.
And our youngest in spring starts everything. So he'll be
turning five and so now he'll be getting into all
the rec centers and doing flag football starting next year,
and doing all these little things.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
So talk to me about that work life balance, because
as a dad and as a sports dad, you're doing
all of the things and beyond for the three of
them simultaneously.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
And then my wife.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
You know, you have a presence on three stations and
you guys have a businesses and all of that. How
do you balance?

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Well, we just do.

Speaker 3 (15:09):
We take it as it comes, right. We cross those
bridges when we get in front of those bridges, right.
So we try to plan ahead as much as possible.
So like we have like my phone every single day
that you know, I get alerts about what that day is.
Because our kids, on top of that, are in you know,
they they're really signed up to everything. So they're in
after school programs, they're in this, they're in that, and
and you know, like our oldest son loves school, right,

(15:30):
so he's in math like they picked him out of
the whole athlete.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
He's like he represents like.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
The whole like our area in like you know, math
and this and that for in school, and like he
already knows what he wants. He's playing football now, but
he wants to be a heart surgeon like when he
gets older, Like he already has his lifeline like cause
you know. So, but for us is planning and just
taking care of it as it comes. Shots to my wife,
she you know, she obviously carries most of the weight
when it comes to that if I'm not so me

(15:58):
taking on the new the new role obviously, you know
it's going to come with more hours and and and shifting,
you know, things around. Obviously, I'm I'm in New York
already in the night time for my show on KTU,
So there's gonna be now those nights are gonna turn
into earlier days as well, because there's gonna be meetings.
There's gonna be a lot of work to do. But
it's something that you just take on and you make

(16:19):
it work. You always find a way to make it
work when the time comes, whether it's getting friends. We
live in a great area, so shout out to our
community who who everyone helps everyone also, So like so
many of our friends in our neighborhoods, you know their
kids also are into these sports.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
It's such a community.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
So most of our kids friends and our friends or
families da da da da, they're in sports. So there'll
be days where like a mom or dad will take
all the kids or I'll be the one to pick
the other kids up and back and forth, especially to
help each other because everyone has something.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Going on and that's the importance of community.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
And so when you actually start buying homes and looking
for where you want to live, and that didn't realized
that I got very lucky, uh with with with the
area we live in because we didn't have kids at
the time, so we weren't even thinking about that. Right.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
So now we've grown into it and really got to
understand and.

Speaker 3 (17:11):
We're like, wow, we really love where we live because
of how community it is and how people really pull
together and help each other out in all these different aspects,
whether it's just anything you know, and the support.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
A support system goes a long way. So as far
as the kids go, and there's you know, we make
it work.

Speaker 3 (17:32):
And stepping back to your original question of stepping outside
the box or feeling or getting in the getting out
your comfort zone, right, we're instilling that now with our
kids with sports, so like we'll make them work out
a lot and.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
Trust so they're not bothering you in the gym.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
They're working out with you now, No, they yeah, they're
working out with us.

Speaker 3 (17:52):
But we're keeping our kids like really active and training
and pushing them and we teach them that like you know,
getting uncomfortable like doing those things now at this age
is going to set them up down the line in
the future for just to excel and to be ahead
of the curve with everybody.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
So I love that. And that rolls into our health journey.
Ladies and gentlemen. Many have DMed asking how our health
journey's going.

Speaker 1 (18:19):
Because we spoke about that, because you just told me
something too about you.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
I spoke about that in season one and we would
kid around because there was always cookies and sugar, and
then we started with you know, healthy granola bars.

Speaker 1 (18:33):
Well, the water fast kicked off, and then yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:35):
You get hungry.

Speaker 1 (18:36):
Yeah, I don't get hungry, Yes, you do. You get hungry.

Speaker 2 (18:39):
You get those days. I'm like, are you fasting.

Speaker 1 (18:44):
Seat today?

Speaker 2 (18:46):
But when we started the podcast, I was, you know,
around twenty five pounds heavier.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Amazing, So I met that goal and now.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
I did a new goal. So it's very exciting. You know,
you lost it quicker than I did. Took me a
little while think so, but I think so you're like
almost invisible.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
No, it's funny because I'm looking at the photo shoot.
Are you looking at are you looking yeah? Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
So for those of you listening at.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
My fat cheeks.

Speaker 4 (19:13):
Right.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Yes, that's happiness right there.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
We have four TV monitors in the studio, and what's
up there is our podcast.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
By the way, that's like a double Excel hoodie you
gave me I remember, Okay, it's huge.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
You did not tell me it was the wrong size.
When I get I gave you more merch.

Speaker 4 (19:29):
No, I know.

Speaker 2 (19:30):
So you have toime to the bookstore and look at that.
We need to do a new photo shoot, is what
we need to be. I'm staring at that picture and
I'm like, yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:37):
So you've lost twenty five pounds. Yes I have. Are
you feeling healthier than ever?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
I have feeling healthier.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
I want to know how you've lost your weight. It
was very taking shots. No, no, no, Nowadays, if you
lose weight, that's the you know, that's.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
The first thing. Did you get surgery a weight?

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Yeah, now it's one hundred. I don't care.

Speaker 3 (19:56):
If you're out there running ten miles a day and
and you're they will just be like whatever, you take a.

Speaker 1 (20:00):
Shots you what is it called Ocempic.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Ocempic or GLP one or whatever the versions. No, none
of that old fashioned, uh is what I've been doing.
So no, it's I decided at the beginning of the year.
I've always fluctuated with my weight. Weight has always been
a struggle for me since grammar school, Like around fourth

(20:29):
grade is when I kind of inflated a little bit
and I really ate my feelings. You know, when you
grow up half Greek and half Hispanic. The result for
everything is food. If you're happy, eat, if you're sad, eat,
And it was you know what were the like the
ho hos and the Nutter butter bars like I just
loved all things. And I always fluctuated. And when I

(20:52):
was diagnosed and we spoke about this season one, I
was three hundred and eighteen pounds. I went down to
one hundred and eighty five within a matter of ten months.
And it was a drop due to the medications, the treatment,
all of that, But I did not see the change
in myself. When I looked in the mirror, I saw because.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
You look at yourself every day, you know, it always
takes somebody who hasn't seen you for a long period
of art to tell you correct. And then you know.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
I got healthy, and when you get healthy, you gain
some And I got to a weight a couple of
years ago that I said, I don't want to be
here anymore. And I started organically. And then in January
you had mentioned to me when we sat down that
you were starting this health kick and you were like, no,
this is my plan, this is what I'm going to do.
You just need to hold yourself accountable. And I said,

(21:42):
you know what, I think that's what I'm going to do.
And I enrolled in a pilates class to try it.
And I was already doing like cardio and chords and
all these things, and I'm like, that's not really for me.
I need like structure, I need to build endurance. I
need to feel confident in that way. And I started pilates.

(22:02):
I did four classes to see if I liked it,
and I'm like, I don't think I do, but I'm
going to stick with it. And I did a paid membership.
If there's anything that's going to keep you accountable, it's
your wallet.

Speaker 3 (22:13):
Yeah, when you're paying for something, When you're paying for something,
So I invested into it.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:17):
So I did an unlimited plan and I do about
four classes a week. So I do physical therapy for
my back, but I'm still doing the pilates and doing
the things and yeah, I've like fluctuated with weight where
I've gone up and down and dips. As females, we
have our menstrual cycles and all these things, and our
bodies fluctuate. So I've lost more than twenty five if

(22:38):
you count.

Speaker 1 (22:39):
You know, you do it slowly.

Speaker 3 (22:40):
I've learned this. People lose weight fast will get it
back right. So the way we've been doing it is great.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
It's organic.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
Yeah it's slow, like you want to get to a
certain point fast, right, but that's not the way to
do it right. So like if you're starting at so
like for instance me, you know, and the day I
really like I already had started dieting, I want to say,
or eating better, but I was up to like two
twenty seven or something like that. And so I can
only imagine when I wasn't even paying attention what weight

(23:07):
I was. But when I started actually paying attention because
I started eating a little better and trying to work
out a little bit, I noticed.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
That's when I was like, ah, two twenty seve imemtter.
I have a picture of it.

Speaker 3 (23:17):
And I recently hit like one ninety, and I'm just like,
you know, I'm down, you know, over thirty pounds, you know,
and I'm like, I'm going to keep going, you know.
And you know, I'm up to a point where I
don't necessarily have a goal weight. I think it's just
feeling better, feeling lighter, and and my kids, I'll tell
you what.

Speaker 1 (23:36):
My kids have been a real motivation for me right
because of their.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Sports, because you have to practice with them and keep up.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
I'm very active, if you know me, Me and my
wife are very active with our kids. I'm outside with them,
so like we're at the bus stop, like during football season,
we're going thirty minutes before the bus every single day
because they want to throw the football. I'm running around
with them. And then now I got a little too
cold for that, so now we're in the car. But
you know, they come up from school. I've transformed what
used to be, you know, the man cave in the house.

(24:03):
Then it became the kid's cave, which is all toys
and stuff, and now that's transformed into a full on
like workout center, like our whole basement in our house.
We're blessed enough to have a space where I put
in like the grass inside my house on the floor.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Like the turf that's crazy.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Yeah. I put turf, like a thirty foot turf strip,
and I have the weight now come in where they
have to slide the slide weight so they could push
for a just episode.

Speaker 1 (24:28):
We're gonna do it from the house.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (24:29):
Oh, I'm like online, well, because when you know, you
get so invested, you know, the kids. I'm living through
my kids now with these sports. First of all, I
never played any of the sports that obviously we knew.
I knew football and when I grew up those baseball, football, right, yeah,
basketball here and there for me. Now they're playing hockey, lacrosse,
all these kinds of sports that I never so I'm
learning with them, you know, and so cool it's been, yeah,
and it's it's so competitive though, and it's like, but.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
You run, Yeah I used to be a runner. Yeah
I don't run, but I used to job I do.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
You know. I walk little Zeus every morning mile and
a half, which is whether he wants to or not.
But that's a mile. Let me tell you something.

Speaker 3 (25:06):
You know what that is though, you're doing a mile
or a mile and a half a day is amazing
and that has to do with your weight laws.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
Yeah, when I started, I was not doing a mile
and a half. So the consistency. So even if today
you're like, I'm really tired, I'm just going to do
the ten minutes, don't do the full forty.

Speaker 3 (25:22):
It's funny because this whole episode now is turned into
the weight loss Journey episode.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
I just looked at the Ti'm like, wow, the whole
episode's over just about really yeah, no, but it is.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
I think it's more of consistency, but it's also.

Speaker 3 (25:34):
That's anything, right if anything like consistency is key and
staying to it and practice. Like with the kids with sports,
it's practice. Everything they do is practice, practice, practice, practice. Hey,
if you're not starting right now, is cool. Maybe you'll
start later this year, Maybe just start next to night.
You're going to get better. You're going to get better
at whatever you're trying to do as long as your
practice and you have to put the work in when

(25:55):
nobody's watching. Right.

Speaker 2 (25:56):
So, speaking of have you started meditating, I haven't. You know,
Wendy's gonna.

Speaker 3 (26:01):
Yeah, I'm gonna have to learn that. That's something I
think it's asking for me is going to be a
real tough one. I'm one of those people and my
oldest gets it from me. My mind is always racing.
I'm always thinking about things, always in my head, and
I feel that.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
If you do it, you don't have to do it
every day. But I feel that it will help you because.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
I think you have to stop that voice in your head, right,
like you have to, like the one it for you.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
To get it together.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
Stop talking about yes.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Yes, but I feel like it will help you because
you have so many things going on.

Speaker 3 (26:38):
I mean, I'm okay, though I don't know if I
need to meditate. I'm sure some people need to. I
don't know if I have time for that.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I have to figure. I just got to keep going.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
You just gotta instead of stopping.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Got too much work to do leadership. I pro just
keep going, just keep going. Meditate later.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
I can't. I can't. This really did turn into health?

Speaker 4 (27:02):
Why? Oh?

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Yes, because I have a well I'm not going to
show because they're not a sponsor, but I have a
little Apple sauce pouch. I like my snacks.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
What do we eat?

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Meal prep? I do meal prep? And I started doing
because you had said like replace with nothing.

Speaker 1 (27:16):
Yeah, yeah, so I did that.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
So I did the Internet fasting intermediate fasting.

Speaker 1 (27:21):
It is called intermediate fast.

Speaker 3 (27:22):
So for me, and just to go back to the
very beginning, what really got me into this is I
did a and I kept seeing it. You know, it's
like anything on social media. When you look into something,
it just keeps coming up on your phone. Yeah, So
all these different things about intermediate fasting and fasting and
eating every other you know, X amount of hours, and
then this three day fast, the three day fast kept
coming up, coming up, and how it helps with this

(27:43):
you know, resell generation and all this kind of stuff
in your bi it's really not about losing weight more
than like fixing damaged cells in your system and all
this kind of stuff. If you guys really looked into
fasting and the benefits of it, it's insane. It's really insane. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
See, there's intermediate fast, which those normal folk like myself
can do where you don't eat from six pm. I
do to ten am. So I'll do like a tea
in the morning something like that, and I'll have like
lunch and whatever. Then there's pros fast, my fast thing
that he only drinks no water for like five days.

Speaker 3 (28:19):
No, no, no, which I'll do that. So when I
first say no, when I first started this, whole health journey.
I started with a three day water fast and I
did three days of just water. And it's really as
hard as it sounds.

Speaker 1 (28:33):
It's really not.

Speaker 3 (28:34):
It's really not that hard. And there's a couple of
things to it. There's so many different benefits to it.
The first thing was will you lose weight? Yes, right,
but that's not like realistic weight right, Like you'll get
a little head start on losing weight because you didn't
eat for three days, right, So just water in your system,
and you could have like black it has to be
straight black coffee, but it doesn't way to reach or
you could put like restart, like I remember how to

(28:56):
order like the salt, like a specific it has to
be a specific salt that you could put in your
water to keep you hydrated for like electrolytes. But you
can't put like a certain type of salt. And you
definite can't have any sugar stunt because that eliminates the
actual fasting of.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Your of your system.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
So just water and coffee.

Speaker 1 (29:12):
It's just water, realists and coffee.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
That's that's if you really need it, it's they they
for me, I did it right, I did black coffee,
and because I could drink black coffee. And but after
you did it, after I did it, I realized by
the third day that I felt more energetic than before
and I felt great. Then you realize that you really
don't need to eat as much food as we've been

(29:35):
trained to eat, right, right, And I'm not going to
get into this, well that's breakfast breakfast. I'm not going
to get into this whole thing of I will say,
I think it's been pushed on us, right, and this
will be a whole notherto this will be a whole
other episode. Right, But when you really think about it,
you know, when you realize that your body does not

(29:57):
need as much food as it's been to you, you know,
That's all I can say, right, Like they want you
to eat breakfast and lunch and dinner and snacks in between. Right, yes,
but you know, and maybe some people need it, and
maybe maybe some.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
People don't, you know, but oh our bodies are all.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Different, everyone's different here. But but anyway, that's what the
water fast. If you could do it, try it. So
One is the benefits of doing it for your Like,
like I said, you'll initially lose a few pounds.

Speaker 1 (30:26):
Great.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
Also, there is a cell in your system. It fixes
and repairs cells like you and you could go further.
These people do five day fasting and all that, and
it really gets into like resell generation. But the biggest
thing for me what it did is is mentally, it
let me know that I could go three days without
eating food. So if I could go three days without
eating food, when I don't eat because it's been a

(30:49):
few hours, I'm like, oh my god, I haven't eaten,
it puts in a perspective like, let me take a seatback,
let me really out to social media.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Is it seven days that we can go without eating?
I think it is the human body. You just need
to I don't think if you I think if you
did some research, you'll see I forget what it is.
I don't ask social media, Penelope.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
You guys could write in the comments.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Three to two months, No, just hydrating three weeks to
two months.

Speaker 1 (31:19):
I'm like, wait, what how you go from three months
to two months?

Speaker 4 (31:21):
No?

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Three, That's all I was gonna say.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
There's actually people like we don't have the time on
this podcast, let's talk about it. There's really people that
have creed diseases that live longer, that have never you know,
experienced any sort of medical issues because they either fast
or they cmated certain foods. From there, well, you'd be
surprised of the problems come from what of.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
Much of what we consume have chemicals, and you'd be surprised.
Like when I was diagnosed, I went vegan straight for
five years because that's what was required, right with kidney
failure and all these things. And when I did that,
at the beginning was very difficult. But then you're you
actually see the differences in your body. So the first

(32:11):
time I remember someone offered me, I think it was
like skittles and you know that has to dies and
all of that. I will stick to my stomach for
three days. Yeah, well, I mean so it's interesting when
you read things.

Speaker 3 (32:22):
Ye, the first time I ate after the three day fast,
I ate anything. It like my body like didn't want
to accept it.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
It was bad.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
And your body will always tell you what it needs
to tell you. But if you don't allow you have
to almost do a cleanse. So if you could do
it fast, or if you could do anything that really
cleanses your system out, if you're out there listening and whatever,
and it's for you and you want to do it.
I don't preach it on anybody, but everybody's different.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Also disclosure and disclaimer. We are not professional in the
health atmosphere. We're just talking about our specific journeys and
what we've done for.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Thank you. Yeah, I'm not here to tell you what
to eat. People make your own decisions.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
No, And also pro does not tell us his fasting schedules.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
So the second time I don't fast, but I don't eat,
I st I really did help, like what you do.
I try not to eat like five or six o'clock.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
But the second time you were doing the water fasting,
I was not aware. And it was when I came
back from Greece and I brought you a box of this.
There are these Greek Christmas cookies.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
Amazing. I want you fast.

Speaker 2 (33:26):
Yeah, I'm fasting right now, but thanks, But I will
say follow some inspo accounts that help you stay accountable.
There's a few for me. I want to give a
shout out to Larrois. She works with Billboard and she
has Baby Gains is her account and she has gone

(33:47):
through a tremendous weight loss journey and she puts the bad,
the good, the old things, and she posts daily on
what she does working out and all of that. So
she really inspired me to to kick off friend and
to continue and sitting next to pro, that's just depleting
the pounds to the ground, but it's.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
Lost like the same amount of weight.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
So I remember what I tell you, Like next time,
for anybody out there who's lost a lot of weight
or something, remember I tell you us, like when you
go into a gym or something like that, pick up
a weight that's with the amount of weight you've lost,
and it'll shock you because like, so if I go
to gym and pick up a thirty pounds or thirty
five pound weight, that much weight is what was on me,
and you start thinking about your joints and your feet

(34:29):
and your knees and you're like, wow, old you know
would you say we're.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
But no, So here's I'm But here's the thing on socials,
Why don't you send us a DM or comment when
we put the clips on and tell us if you've
gone through Yeah, tell us we can our health journey
this year and what you've gone through.

Speaker 3 (34:50):
What we've got, what we've been doing. I want to
take sense share. Hey, this is what I eat on
a daily basis because I'm still losing weight. So a
lot of people have what are you doing it than
staying active?

Speaker 4 (35:01):
Right?

Speaker 3 (35:01):
I have like a routine, like I could literally eat
the same thing every day from from start to the
finish of the day, and I'll know the next day
what I'm gonna.

Speaker 4 (35:09):
Wake up with.

Speaker 1 (35:10):
So interesting, it's a routine.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I too, have made a science experiment with my eating
habits and seeing how that affects well because you learn
about yourself. Carbs are not my friend, and that's okay.

Speaker 1 (35:23):
Not for most ice.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
We love them, and if you are going to have them,
you have those needs to be what's you know in
the beginning of the day, and by carbs.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
Fresh bread with butter, it's so good. It's so good,
but so bad.

Speaker 1 (35:39):
The bread is one thing that's bad and the butter
is another. So you're putting two things that are were European.

Speaker 2 (35:44):
Uh, it's in our genetic formula.

Speaker 1 (35:47):
I've lost weight, but it's been so boring. It's like
a hard boiled egg by itself. Things like that.

Speaker 2 (35:52):
You eat one hard boiled egg by itself, that's it nothing.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
I don't just it it. Yeah, I air fry and
that's it. I don't boil like harbowl like in water.

Speaker 2 (36:04):
That's really like okay, so you air fry one egg
and that's all you put on the plane and that's
what you eat.

Speaker 1 (36:09):
Or like I'll do that with like half avocado.

Speaker 2 (36:12):
Okay, that's good healthy fats.

Speaker 3 (36:14):
But back back then you would do it and add
like a little salt and pepper and the Yeah, I
don't do none of that. So, like I said, we'll
save this for another episode.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
This has been very interesting.

Speaker 1 (36:24):
Teach me how to eat?

Speaker 2 (36:25):
And you know what we're we're going to We're going

we can ask the viewers questions. But thank you for
