AJ Pierzynski on The Astros: It's Not Over In Houston No One Panic

Our own Dan Mathews had the chance to catch up with former Major League catcher AJ Pierzynski over the weekend at Minute Maid Park, before he called the Astros-Rangers on FS1. He talks about dealing with the early season stuggles for the Astros. Plus, his message to the fans about the struggles.

Astros? How do they fix this? They're gonna be fine. They got
a good team. They need startingpitching. They need their pitchers to go

to be back. Once they getthose two guys back, they stabilize the
rotation. They're gonna be just fine. What's important in a clubhouse when you're
going through a stretch like this,I mean, the frustrations do build all
those things, and the fans onthe outside, they're like, come on,
man, show some fight. Dosomething like what's important to keep in

mind that's a long season that they'refifteen games in it and it's only a
tenth not even a tenth of theway through. Uh So you have one
hundred and fifty games almost left.Not to panic. I think that's what
one thing the Astros do is theydon't panic. They have veteran guys in
their Al two Va, Bragman orBray you even Jordan at this point as
a veteran guy. They're starting pitchingtheir BULLPENK guys have been through a lot.

They've been through the ups and downsof everything. So I think they
have the right mix. I thinkJoe is in a good spot because Joe
as although he hasn't been the manager, has been through you know, the
winning and knows how long the yearreally is and how many ups and downs
happen. So I think they havea good mix and I think they have
the right mindset. Talking to themtoday, a couple more for aj Prizinski
again on the call today with FSone and one of them. I mean,

you know, you've seen Jordan showsome good things. You've seen Al
tuove Tucker last night a couple ofhome runs, but the lineup really hadn't
gotten going. I mean, isthat another reason to believe in this team?
Of course, the lineup these guyshit ds can hit. Obviously,
Al two as going to the Hallof Fame one day. Jordan's one of
the best hitters in the game.When Bregman comes back, he's great.
Tucker's unbelievable. I mean, McCormick, whoever it is. They just have

a team that can hit right.Bray you will figure it out. He
got up to a slow start lastyear and figured it out. So I
think they have hitters that know whatthey're doing. They have hitters that have
been through the battles and they're gonnabe fine. And it's just a rough
stretch where everyone seems to be strugglingat the same time. And again,
if this was in July, you'dbe like, oh, it's a bad
week. But because it happened atthe beginning of the year, because it
was you know, the Yankees thestart, they lost the four. Oh
