Wex and AC believe Jose Altuve's run for the All-Star Game could come to an end....if he were listed as an outfielder. Too bad he's on the ballot at second base. Does this mean Houston might have a secondary starter in the All-Star Game down in Atlanta next month? The A-Team discusses!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The All Star vote is interesting, and we were talking
about it the other day. Jose Altuve's run of All
Star Game appearances might come to an end, and I
really didn't think much of it because it seemed so obvious,
even though there aren't a host of awesome outfield voting options.

(00:20):
Aaron Judge is a really, really good one, and Byron Buxton,
who I wasn't too super pleased with, is continue to
put up numbers that suggest he's probably worth voting for.
Speaking of the A's, I think one, if not the
only participant they have. Jacob Wilson's probably gonna make it,
so maybe Tyler Soderstrom doesn't, but he's put up numbers
worthy of that. And where would al Tuve rank among

(00:42):
these outfielders, It doesn't matter because he's on the ballot
at second base. I don't know if everybody knows that
that's when you go to vote for your All Stars.
It's not that you go to the Astrodome and then
you go up to the top of your row and
take fifteen paper ballots out of the ballot box and
go back dow under your seat and ask your parents
if they have a pen so you can poke through

(01:03):
all fifteen ballots at one time. Like you've done this before,
Glenn Davis and Bill Dorian and the like. You just
go on to your phone or computer or whatever and
you just here's who I'm voting for the second baseman
in the American League this year. Trying to keep Jose
Altuve from being the selection at second base. Well, they stink.

(01:28):
There's really there's no obvious choice. I mean, the best
ops among second basement is the Twins. Willie Castro. All
six of his home runs have helped contribute to that,
and his fifteen RBI hasn't played the entire season. Brandon
Lowe has six thirteen homers and thirty six RBI. That
leads the way in those categories. He's eaving to forty six.

(01:50):
He's got an ops in the seven forties. Jose Altuve's
numbers aren't i popping either. His nine home runs are
second among second basement. He has not played half of
the season. He has even played a third of the
season at second base. But if you're voting on second baseman,
the vast majority of the millions and millions of voters

(02:13):
probably don't even know it, and they're gonna look at
Andresamenez and Michael Massey and Daniel Schneeman and Lennon Sosa,
and they're gonna say, oh, yeah, I know, Josel Tuve,
he gets my vote at second base in twenty twenty five.
I can't wait to see these first returns and see
exactly where he's placed in the hierarchy of this first

(02:34):
go round. I'm shocked. I'm absolutely shocked he's sitting there
at second base on the ballot. There will be one
other person he'll be competing with, Clabor Torres, because he's
a Yankee former Yankee. He's having an okay season, probably
a worthwhile at second base all Star season for the Tigers,
but mainly because there's no competition there, and I don't know,

(02:58):
they don't really usually say when they're gonna do it.
That's just all probably on a Tuesday, probably next Tuesday.
It would be my guest. I'm curious, just because I
had no idea that he was listed there. I bet
you he leads
