pulled over because he was driving along the interstate with
his truck flashing the red and blue lights like a
cop car, which we're all so fake. So they pull
him over and they search his truck and they found

(02:13):
several guns, different passports, a bulletproof vest, and fake federal
agent badges. One of them said he was from the CIA.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
That is incredible.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
No, it's not. Do you know how much gentle time
he's going to get for that?

Speaker 6 (04:31):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
It's three things you need to know you with the
Alabama Show.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Okay, So the Pelham Polar Plunge has moved to February
twenty second this year.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
Normally it's every January.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
It's an annual Alabama law enforcement torch run hosted by
the Pelham Police Department at Oak Mountain State Park, and
it benefits Special Olympics of Alabama. So if you want
to be a part of it this year, February twenty second,
check in and registration starts at twelve pm in the
main park office that day, so it'll be a good time.
Here's how to save some money on your power bill

(05:05):
during the cold snap. I got an email from the
power company yesterday and I was like, oh, I did
not know any of these things, so well, I need
this one. Turn the thermostat down when you're not at
home to like sixty eight degrees. If you live with
somebody who keeps it at seventy two. Stake Daddy, my boyfriend,
I'm talking to you. They're crazy.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Turn it down.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Open your blinds when it's sunny outside so the sun
can come in and heat your home. Also, use your
dishwasher at night. I did not know this. If you
use your dishwasher at night, nothing else is running, so
it's more energy efficient.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Do you know that.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
I did not know that.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
That's a good one. And if you have a fireplace,
it doesn't help with heat. It actually draws heat out
of the house. So they say get glass doors for
your fireplace to try to hold the heat in your house.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Here's the story.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
You didn't know you needed in your life, Producer, Blake,
Camila Cabo just went very public with her new boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Did you see this?

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Who's the new boy?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
So he's a.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Billionaire Henry Calhou But is his name or I googled him.
He's literally a billionaire. And they were in Saint Bart's
on vacation over the weekend. They were lanked a year ago,
but they were making out on the beach.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
But why it's a big.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Deal is because you know, Camila Cabeo dated Shawn Mendez
and they had a very public on again, off again relationship.
And Sabrina Carpenter came out with a song come called
Taste earlier or Later in the whatever a few months ago.
And people think that there is some drama between Camiala
and Sabrina Carpenter fighting over Shawn Mendez.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Well, it looks like Tamila never has to worry about work, work,
work work.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
I know she girls moved on and now she's got
a hot sugar daddy.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
He's young and good looking.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
God.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
Anyway, that's three things you need to know more at
the Alabama Show dot com.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
You were listening to the Alabama Show to man, good
morning Mandy, what's your issue for ask Alabama?

Speaker 7 (06:51):
Okay, well, my husband wants me to apologize to my
mother in law and I don't think I should have to.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Oh boy, by the way, that's why we do ask Alabama.
If you ever have an issue, we will do our
best to help. Call the show. Eight three three five
O one BAMA is the number. What is going on
with you and your mother in law?

Speaker 7 (07:09):
So? What, we just had our first baby, right, so
we've been planning this. I've been excited the entire pregnancy. Well, congratulations,
thank you, super excited. So we actually had our daughter.
Like the day we had our daughter, thing went wrong.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Okay, So what happened on delivery day?

Speaker 7 (07:28):
My husband's mom, my mother in law, she wanted to
be in the delivery room. And I was a little
sketchy about that, but you know, I was like, Okay,
maybe she can be there. She can take pictures, yes,
and she can you know, be the she can document
everything for us, because they wanted to make sure there
were pictures and all the first step and all that stuff.
But when the day came, she started overstepping like a

(07:51):
lot and.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
What did she do?

Speaker 7 (07:53):
Frustrating?

Speaker 2 (07:54):
What do you think? What was she doing that was overstepping.

Speaker 7 (07:57):
Well. The first thing that she did was when the
doctor would come in and ask questions about me, she
would answer them like before.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
Me right away.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
That's kind of weird.

Speaker 7 (08:06):
Yeah. She also invited a bunch of her friends to
the hospital, and they came in the room like right
after I get emerged, and I didn't want any more guests,
like these aren't my friends or my people.

Speaker 4 (08:16):
Well that and you had literally just pushed a human
out of your your body.

Speaker 7 (08:21):
Yeah exactly, and so okay. Well, but the final final
straw was is that as soon as I was done
giving birth right and they're they're getting ready to go
clean her up and do all her tests and everything
like that, she like somehow got in there real quick,
holds the baby for two seconds and kisses her before
I'm even able to do anything. I haven't held her,

(08:44):
I haven't, you know, they held her up for a second,
but I was, you know, completely out of it and
a little wobbly, and I wasn't able to kiss her
or do anything. And I look up and she she
kissed her before I even got a chance to.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
So your mother in law literally kissed to your first
baby before you can kiss your first baby.

Speaker 7 (09:02):
Yeah, and held her too, And.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
What happened when you said something to her about it?

Speaker 7 (09:07):
And she got really upset and started crying, like like
she's the one that should be crying.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Oh my gosh, what did your husband do? I'm assuming
he was there too.

Speaker 7 (09:15):
Right He starts apologizing to his own mom, saying, oh,
she's just really hormonal right now. And I said, no,
it's absolutely disrespectful for her to kiss my baby, my
first my baby, not her baby, before I even you know,
get to do to hold her kiss or anything. So anyway,
that just ended up being a huge argument, and then

(09:37):
he wanted me and apologized.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Ooh, that's a hard one.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Maybe somebody else has gone through this with you.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
Have you ever had an issue in the delivery room
when you were giving birth?

Speaker 4 (09:46):
And did somebody overstep their boundaries? Eight three three five
oho one Bama is the number. That's eight three three
five oh one two two six two.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
If you're listening to the Alabama Show on demand.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
Mandy called she's upset her mother in law was in
the delivery room for her first baby with her and
her husband, and her mother in law ended up being
a little overbearing in the delivery room, invited some friends
in and then kissed the baby before Mandy even could.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Kiss her own child.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
And so she was super upset and she said something
and her husband got defensive and thinks that Mandy should
apologize to her mother in law. She's like, I know,
this is crazy. Call the show if you have advice
or if you've ever been through something like this. Eight
three three five oh one, BAMA is the number to Shanda,
good morning.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
Do you have advice for Mandy?

Speaker 6 (10:36):
Okay, first of all, I'm a healthcare professional, and her
mother in law was long for kissing the baby on
the before it even could get your good it's immune system,
it's not even up and running.

Speaker 2 (10:48):
Oh I didn't even that baby could get very sick.
Think of that.

Speaker 4 (10:52):
Oh, that's that's a good argument for her to tell
her husband too, Like she could have made our kids sick.

Speaker 6 (10:57):
Absolutely, have you seen she could have very well made
her sit Have you.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
Seen overbearing mother in laws in the delivery room at work?

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Thankfully I have it. I'm a pharmacist, so thankfully I
haven't had to deal with that, but I've had several
friends who've had it. I was blessed with an amazing
mother in law and never had that issue. I know
it's a hard thing to line to walk with the
husband's significant others, but you have to stand your ground

(11:27):
ground on what and that experience. It's life and death
for a lot of women.

Speaker 7 (11:32):
YEA.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
For the baby, yes, but that kissing the baby before
the baby could get here good would have sent me
to the moon. So I think she handled it way
better than I could have.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
That is a.

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Great, great point. Thank you for Colin. I appreciate you.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
Thank you, have a great day.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
You were listening to the Alabama Show on demand. It's
three things you need to know with Thelam Show.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
So there are some multiple warming stations that are opening
across Colman County ahead of the cold temper that we're getting.
So in Hantsville, Trinity Pentecostal Church will be one FA
Baptist Church in Fairview, Dodge City Town Hall and Donald
Green Center and Coleman. You can get more at WBrC
dot com. But just make sure you check out the

(12:15):
warming stations and stay warm because it's gonna get real
cold this week.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Here are some tips for the cold weather. Are you ready?
Here's what the four peas stand for.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Producer Blake, go on, remember the four peas, people, pets, pipes,
and plants.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
All right, I only need three of those.

Speaker 4 (12:31):
So the people, you got to bundle up the pets,
bring them in if possible. If you can't bring them inside,
make sure they have a warm, dry shelter to get
them out of the freezing.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Please don't leave your dog outside. That's cool. Pipes, I
didn't know this.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
We know to cover your pipes with like the little
styrofoam thing, but open your lower cabinets inside your house
to let the warm air flow through the cabinets and
keep the pipes from freezing and leave it at a drip.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
And if you have plants, bring them in. You don't
have plants, You're not a plant dad have pets. You
just gotta worry about people and pipes.

Speaker 4 (13:04):
People, Okay, Sleeping upside down is the life hack you
didn't know you needed in your life. I've done this
before and people look at me like I'm crazy.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
If you have.

Speaker 4 (13:14):
Trouble sleeping, this is a TikTok trend. But I used
to do this all the time as a kid. That
if you turn upside down on your bed and put
the pillow where your feet normally, go and try to
sleep upside down.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
It changes your routine.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
The science behind it is it like makes you stop
thinking about whatever is keeping you up at night.

Speaker 2 (13:34):
If you can't sleep, just sleep upside down on your bed.

Speaker 5 (13:36):
Just do it.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Okay, it works for me, I swear to it's like
sometimes I do that.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
I really do do that, and it ends down. It works,
sleep upside down. I will do it tonight. Okay. Yes,
that's the three things you need to.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
Know more at the Alabama Show dot com, you were.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Listening to the Alabama Show. The following program is on demand.

Speaker 4 (13:58):

your favorite Christmas present? Called the show eight three three

what a VR head set?

Speaker 3 (14:07):
That one's pretty top two.

Speaker 2 (14:09):
I know what mine was a crop pot. It wasn't
a chicken.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
I know.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
I heard that sigh of you thinking it was going
to be a bird.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
No, it was a sigh of happiness. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:19):
No, a crock pot. I love my crock pot.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
Eight three three five o one Bama is the number, jays,
good morning.

Speaker 7 (14:25):
My favorite Christmas present I got this year was a
knife sharpener for my grandma was a what a knife sharpener?

Speaker 2 (14:33):
My knife sharpener? Oh? Yes, what makes it so great?

Speaker 7 (14:40):
I'm at the age where favorite fundamental gift like that.

Speaker 3 (14:47):
Dude.

Speaker 4 (14:47):
Honestly, I didn't realize how much of a difference a
knife sharpener makes.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Have you ever sharpened your kitchen knives? Producer Blake?

Speaker 3 (14:54):
Not my kitchen knives, but I have sharpened knives.

Speaker 2 (14:56):
It makes a huge difference.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
I totally and I'm with you on like basic stuff
that you don't get for yourself. My grandma got me
a bread knife last year for my birthday, and I
love that thing.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
The only other thing that I like more than that
was every year I get underwear and socks so I
don't have to buy my own.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
And don't you get free underwear? You're like, yeah, that's
what's awesome.

Speaker 7 (15:21):
I don't think.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I've bought my own underwear socks.

Speaker 4 (15:25):
Just don't tell your girlfriend that, okay, buddy.

Speaker 7 (15:30):
She knows and she doesn't mind.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
That is great. Thank you for calling the show. See
it's not weird if you're a guy.

Speaker 4 (15:37):
And she's buying you like your mom's buying me boxers.
But if you're like a girl, and your mom buys
you thongs that could be a little weird, definitely different.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
I gotta get run into work.

Speaker 7 (15:49):
I'll have a.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Going you have a great day. Thanks for calling.

Speaker 1 (15:52):
You were listening to the Alabama Show on de Man.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
What does bread, milk, and eggs have in common?

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Dairy?

Speaker 2 (16:01):
It's all gonna be off the shelves in the next two.

Speaker 4 (16:03):
Days because everybody's pick and of the snow that we're.

Speaker 2 (16:06):
Supposed to get.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
That was not my guess.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Well, I'm making French toast. By the way, thanks for
listening to the Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with producer Blake.
Good Morning, Good Barning.

Speaker 4 (16:16):
So that is like, literally, that's the joke in the
South is when bad weather is expected, which we have
a snow cold snap coming in possibility of snow, the
bread is always the first thing to go, bread and milk,
and we're like, what are you gonna do?

Speaker 2 (16:30):
You're gonna make French toast. So I posted the question
on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
And I'll give you some of the answers, and then
I want to hear yours. If you know you're gonna
be stuck in the house for a few days, what's
the first thing.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
You're stocking up on.

Speaker 4 (16:41):
Joseph says mountain dew, Kimberly says dogs for warmth and entertainment.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
That would be me. Joe says hot pockets.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
Amanda says alcohol, firewood.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
Some of the things. So what are you stocking up on.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
I'm gonna get some of them fancy like garlic, breadsticks
in the bakery, slim gems and propel water and game
in game what Marvel rivels Baby, the new game?

Speaker 3 (17:13):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
What if you run out of power and you can't game,
I'll get puzzles.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
I'm on a puzzle kick lately. That's what I'm stocking
up on. Puzzles. I'll let's do it puzzle together. Have
you ever been stuck in the house and trapped for
a few days? Yes, what'd you do? How'd you get
through it?

Speaker 5 (17:29):
Well, during that time, we went outside and played in
the snow, and I probably will do that again.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
I'll do that again. Is that or we had dial
up internet when the last time we got on big snow?
So you had that?

Speaker 5 (17:41):
Yes, and my dad get really mad at me because
the phone would ever work.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
That's what happened on my list.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
What are the things you're stocking up on again, garlic.

Speaker 5 (17:49):
Breadsticks, the garlic breadsticks in the bakery section of Anywhere,
slim gems and propel water on my game.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Okay, call the show.

Speaker 4 (17:58):
I'm like because i am going grocery shopping this week
and I'm trying to figure out what do I need
to stock up on?

Speaker 2 (18:03):
Chocolate for me?

Speaker 4 (18:04):
Eight three three five oh one, Bama is the number.
What's the first thing you're stocking up on this week
in case we get stuck in the house for a
few days?

Speaker 2 (18:11):
That's eight three three five oh one two two six two.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
You're listening to the Alabama Show on demand.

Speaker 4 (18:18):
Kara said she's stocking up on firewood. If you got
to be stuck in the house for a couple of days.
Because we're talking about what what are you going to
stock up on? Because we have bad weather coming in
we literally might be stuck in the house for a
couple of days.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
What's the first thing you buy?

Speaker 4 (18:31):
And producer Blake says, slim gems and garlic bread and
prepare water.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
And I'm gonna be paying my keys.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
Eight three three five oh one, Bama. Chris, good morning.
What are you stocking up?

Speaker 7 (18:40):
All? Right?

Speaker 4 (18:40):
Hear me?

Speaker 7 (18:41):
On this one. I'm stocking up on pasta because even
if the power goes out, once you cook that stuff,
you can still eat it.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
That's that's a good answer. I like that one.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Pasta is pretty solid. I'm okay with pasta. You can
cook pasta like camp food on a camp stove.

Speaker 7 (18:55):

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
