Speaker 1 (00:00):
Stirring the pots one morning at a time. Welcome, Welcome
to the Alabama Show.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Why why hold on?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
I can't, we can't. No, this is not how we're
starting the show today.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I just got here. What is going on?

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Rest in peace to my duck. There's no way, I
swear to God, there's no way we're doing this again.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
We're just gonna start the show this way. That's how
I ended my day yesterday, burying a duck.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
We've had the same open I know.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
No, we've done it. It's not been an open. We've
done it other times during the show.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Rested.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Every time a bird dies on my farm, we do
a duck funeral or animal funeral or whatever. My dog
Buddy killed my duck because the other dogs were chasing
the goose. It was yesterday.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
It's not a good day.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Don't make fun of me. Scrappy the puppy and the
other dog.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
We're chasing my injured goose yesterday. And I was so
focused on them chasing the goose because I just bent
five hundred dollars on goose surgery. I couldn't let her die,
and I wasn't focused on body. My right Waller German
shepherd so I come back to the front yard after
I get the other dogs off the goose. The goose

(01:26):
is fine, and body is sitting in the front yard
with a feather hanging out of his mouth, just looking
at me like I'm sorry, Mama, couldn't help myself.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
And I knew, I knew.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
So I had to walk all over the yard looking
for the duck. Duck was dead, bad boody, no duck,
duck goose. I cried.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I felt so bad.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I did you know how hard it is to dispose.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
Of a dead bird. Oh, I'll be honest with you.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
It's sad, but it's so funny that it's it's this
is just a recurring thing.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I gotta put my dusk. Animals stop.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Having Monday call the show he ate three three five one, Fama,
good morning.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
It's what the hell headlines?

Speaker 2 (02:20):
What the hell are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
On the Alabama Show, a man drove his dad's car
into the ocean.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Why was there a purpose behind this attack?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Guess where it happened, surrounding areas to an ocean, Florida.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Yes, exactly, twenty one year old Florida guy was angry
at his dad, so he drove his dad's car into
the ocean to get back at him, and the cops
got a report of a car in the ocean and
then they started.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
They showed up.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
There was a superoo floating in the water. They found
the owner, the dad, and the dad they couldn't find
the sun. They were trying to find the sun while
the dad was like, I can tell you where he
is because I'm pinging his location, because they were sharing
each other's location on their phone. So they gods at
the cops to the sun and no, he's on jail
on a twenty five hundred dollars bond.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
What is wrong with Florida?

Speaker 1 (03:14):
It's Super Easy Trivia with the Yelabama.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Show producer Blake. Good morning, you are my contestant. Come

Speaker 2 (03:27):
I am Yes. Who is your inspiration today? Is it
your girlfriend? Is it your mom?

Speaker 4 (03:36):

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Okay, question number one, Okay, we're moving on.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
What is the name of the holiday that celebrates.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Love most time?

Speaker 2 (03:48):
It's Valentine's day. That is correct? What is it the
rest of the time, every other day of the year,
because I'm a loving boy. Okay, what color? What color
are emeralds?

Speaker 4 (04:00):

Speaker 3 (04:01):
Green?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Good job?

Speaker 3 (04:03):
And last one, what is the largest bird in the world?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
Big bird?

Speaker 3 (04:10):
That's a real bird, not a puppet Ostrich.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Good job. Just it's a good day.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Congratulations, we just won super easy trivia.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Thank you. I needed this.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
It's three things you need to know you with the
Alabama Show.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Just make sure you are weather aware. Today it's a
first alert weather day. We have a severe thunderstorm watch
for all of central Alabama through noon. Any storms that
move through could produce flooding, damaging winds, and large hail,
also isolated tornadoes, so just make sure you watch the weather.
We have more details on Katy Perry's flight in space.

(04:55):
I'm so excited for this.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
I would like to see how this turns out.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
So Jeff Bezos his Blue Origin says that Katie will
fly into space as part of the company's all women
flight crew, and they also revealed it's going to happen
April fourteenth in Texas. They revealed the flight's official patch
and it has the last name of each member and
a symbol for each woman. Can you guess what Katie

(05:21):
Perry's symbol is.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
It's a.

Speaker 4 (05:30):
Yeah, it's a firework because of this song.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
But yeah, I'll.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Be honest with you, I wouldn't want my sticker to
be of firework if I'm going to space.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Good luck to you, Katy Perry, rather than we are.
So Bill Gates just predicted the future and he says
that within the next decade, most of us will only
be working two to three days a week thanks to
AI taking over a lot of jobs.

Speaker 4 (06:00):
I don't know if Bill Gates knows this one. I
don't think we're gonna get lucky enough to work three days.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
I would love that, But here's the problem. What's going
to happen to our paychecks? If we're working a lot less,
we're gonna start paying a on We're gonna get paid.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
We are pretty close to that, you know what Bill
Gates might be onto some time.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
I know. So we're gonna have to be making that money.
On TikTok Love, Go fellow Alabama Radio. We're on TikTok
Love right now. That's three things you need to know
More At the Alabama Show dot Com, you were.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Listening to the Alabama Show.

Speaker 5 (06:32):
On to me.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Good morning, Megan. What's your issue for Ask Alabama?

Speaker 5 (06:37):
My boyfriend wants me to choose between him for my dog.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Oh hell no, that's why we're here. If you ever
have an issue for Ask Alabama, call the show. We'll
do our best to help. Eight three three five oh one,
Bama is the number. Why is your boyfriend making you
choose between him or your dog?

Speaker 5 (06:52):
So after we moved in together, the dog started getting
really anxious and jumping around my boyfriend.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
How long have you and your your boyfriend lived together.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
Well, we've been together for five years, but we just
moved in together last summer.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
And how long have you had the dog.

Speaker 5 (07:07):
I've had this dog for eight years.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Okay, so you had the dog before you even started
dating your boyfriend.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
Yes, that dog had That dog is like it always
lived with.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
Me, okay, And so then he moved in together. And
what's the dog doing.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
Well, he's just like getting really anxious or around my boyfriend,
Like he gets jumpy and like runs around, and he's
been chewing on a lot of the furniture around the house.
And actually the worst part is he's been growling at
my boyfriend and he just does not like him, like
he wants nothing to do with him.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Oh okay, and so what did your boyfriend do?

Speaker 5 (07:41):
So my boyfriend the other day he told me, like,
actually it was the other night that I had to
choose either him or the dog, and he wants me
to take my dog to live with my mom and
get rid of him. And I'm just like devastated because
I love this dog so much and I don't know
what do I do.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I already know what you're gonna say, Blake, choose the boyfriend.
Oh my god, are you planning on marrying him?

Speaker 5 (08:07):
I think so, But this has just really like grown
me for a loop.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
You no, no.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Dog, choose the boyfriend. Choose your dog.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
You had the dog before you had your boyfriend, and
the dog's eight years old. If your boyfriend can't deal
for another two or three years with your dog, and
the fact that your dog doesn't like him and he
is growling at him, that's a red flag to me.
Dogs are better judges of people than people are. I
think your boyfriend's doing something sketchy.

Speaker 5 (08:31):
I know my dog is kind of old. That's the thing.

Speaker 4 (08:33):
Well, I will say this, A human life is more
important than a dog's life.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
Oh my god, call the show. Have you ever been
in this situation where your spouse told you to get
rid of your animal or them? Eight three three five
oh one Bama is the number? That's eight three three
five oh one two two six two.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
You're listening to the Alabama Show on demand.

Speaker 3 (08:55):
Do you get rid of your dog for your spouse
or do you keep it? Eight three three five oh
one BAMA is? Then that's what we're talking about. And
ask Alabama Today, Mike, good morning. What do you think
keep the dog?

Speaker 5 (09:06):
Do?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (09:07):
Thank you, Mike. You're my kind of people.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
If the dog doesn't locked up, guy, there's a reason
for it.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
Okay, I agree, great judge is a character.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
I absolutely agree. Have you ever dated somebody that wanted
you to get rid of a dog?

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah, long, Well did you break up with her?

Speaker 5 (09:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Absolutely? I love you, Mike.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Mike, thank you for calling the show.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
You're welcome. Love you guys.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Lindsey, good morning. Would you get rid of a dog
for a spouse?

Speaker 1 (09:36):
So I didn't have to get rid of a dog,
but I did get rid of a cat and it
almost killed.

Speaker 5 (09:42):
Him when we were dating.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Was he allergic to it?

Speaker 5 (09:45):
He was very allergic and he had warned me, but
I didn't realize how bad it was. And we had
to give him like spin a drill, sir head, like
the first time he ever came over.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
To my house.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
So then did y'all we've been together and you got
rid of the cat?

Speaker 5 (10:02):
Yees?

Speaker 1 (10:02):
So I bought a farm and we moved into.

Speaker 5 (10:06):
A tiny house so we couldn't have the cat anymore.
So I got rid of her, and now we have every.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Where the cat goes? Who's got the cat?

Speaker 3 (10:16):
I wish I knew.

Speaker 5 (10:18):
I gave her to a really sweet girl, but.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
I have no idea if she still has a way, Well,
bless you.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Hey, better put a ring on it.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Oh we've been married.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
For three years now, Okay, then you know what it was, Martha.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
I love you. Thank you for calling the show.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
It's three things you need to know them.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
I never thought I would say this, but War Eagle
because Auburn beat Michigan State and they're going into the
first Final four since twenty nineteen. So I'm on a
root for an Alabama team. Yeah, War Eagle seventy to
sixty four.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Good job, buddies.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
Okay, A lawyer in Texas is going viral for saying
you can get a dui from too much caffeine. A
California man got charged for it in twenty fifteen. Why
because duy and dwy don't just mean booze or elicted drugs.
Whatever it is that impairs your ability to drive. Even
legal drugs could get you in trouble. Caffeine one of them.
As I take a sip from my coffee, Well, good

(11:16):
luck everybody else, and be careful. She seen Morgan Wallin
walked off Saturday Night Live before the show ended, and
everybody's talking about it now.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yeah, and he even posted a tweet after the ship.
It was on his Instagram stories.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
So Mikey Madison or is at Mickey Madison, she made
her hosting debut, and she said, I had a wonderful time.
And the camera panned out and you can see Morgan
lean in and whisper something to her, and then he
just walks off. Then he shared a photo on his
Instagram stories. It was a private jet and it said
get me to God's Country.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
So he had to fly out.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
I guess he was going back tonight. Nashville people are
saying he's a jerk for walking off. But there's a
source that came out yesterday and said it was no
ill will, So maybe you just needed to catch his flight.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
No, I did see a lot of controversy behind this
and at the end of his uh, give me.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
One good reason why did he walk off? One good reason?
How are you?

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Because the differing views between him and the people there
that were against him, what people didn't like him, that's
what's rumored.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
That's sae things you need to know more At the
Alabama Show dot com, we're listening to The Alabama Show
on demand.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Do you miss your college days? I feel like I'm
kind of and I'm still.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Are you sad that everybody went on spring break and
you didn't?

Speaker 2 (12:34):
I am upset about that. Yeah, well, good news for you.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Here's my what's awesome for today that you have no
idea about.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Hi, my name is Alabama. Thank you for listening to
The Alabama Show with producer Blake. Hey, I'm producer Blake.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
You're gonna have your very own spring break in the
eight o'clock hour, and the first thing we're going to
kick off is everybody on spring break gets bad tattoos.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
It's Kidstonberg. I ordered some tattoos.

Speaker 3 (12:56):
We're gonna put some tattoos on you, and we're gonna
kick off spring break in the studio.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
This is what you were talking about saying, I hope
you don't have anything to do today.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
Go follow the Alabama Show on Facebook. I got another
surprise coming.

Speaker 2 (13:11):

the time. So happy, what's awesome? You want an air horn? Here,

Everybody's coming back producing, Blake's kicking it off.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Okay, yay, thank you. What's awesome. You're welcome.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
You were listening to the Alabama Show. The following program
is on demand.

Speaker 3 (13:38):
This is really a passion conversation for me because if
you listen to the show, you've heard me talk about
my mom and how she passed away from an accidental
overdose five and a half years ago.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
But Nicole, you are are you.

Speaker 3 (13:52):
The what's your official title?

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Executive director?

Speaker 3 (13:55):
Executive director of the Addiction Prevention Coalition. And there is
an end Addiction Walk in Birmingham that's coming up that's right.

Speaker 6 (14:03):
April fifth. We're so excited. It's our ninth annual.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Oh that is huge, that is huge. But what I
love about the walk, So you do the walk and
it's free. Is it free to sign up?

Speaker 6 (14:14):
It's free. You can pay day of it and you
can pay if.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
You want a T shirt. Basically is what it is.

Speaker 6 (14:21):
But there are so many people that come pass by
or like what the heck is this and end up
coming and just having a great time. On a typical
year we see about twenty five hundred to three thousand people.

Speaker 3 (14:32):
Oh that's pretty aw simple, but it's good because you do.
I was reading there's a resource row that gives people
resources who are dealing with addiction or know somebody dealing
with addiction.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
That's right.

Speaker 6 (14:43):
So this year we have over fifty tables that have
committed to being there and they're I mean, it is
the gamut, right, So it's everything from recovery housing that
is Christian based, recovery housing that is secular HIV testing,
employer that go out of their way to hire people
in long term recovery. It's a really good opportunity for

(15:05):
as you said, people who maybe are newly in recovery,
and I want to talk more about that in a minute.
Or people who have been celebrating recovery for years, maybe
people like yourself who lost someone and want to memorialize
them and honor them. Or maybe it's for family members
who have somebody that they love that is struggling and

(15:28):
they don't know what to do.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Okay, So the walk I yes with coming up ten
am is when.

Speaker 6 (15:33):
At start am is when it really starts. There's like
a short program. I think folks usually start to get
there at nine, will have a coffee. There's a coffee
food truck. There are other food trucks and stuff like that. Yes,
you can bring your dog, they just have to be
on a leash. Yeah, exactly, exactly. I'm a dog person.
So it really starts around ten and then I mean
I think it's really over by like noon. There are

(15:55):
some people that linger and grab some food and stuff.
But I mean, we're I don't want to, but I
think we're gonna have good weather. It's under city walk,
kind of right under the overpass and awesome. We hope
folks come out.

Speaker 2 (16:07):

Speaker 2 (17:23):
