Speaker 1 (04:38):
You were listening to The Alabama Show. The following program
is on demand.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Good morning, Philip. What's your issue for Ask Alabama?
Speaker 7 (04:46):
Well, I think I'm dating the wrong family member.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
Oh no, this is why we do Ask Alabama. If
you ever need help, we do our best to help you.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Eight three three five oh one, Bama is the number?
How are you dating the wrong family member?
Speaker 7 (04:59):
I started this girl that I met on bumble.
Speaker 9 (05:02):
Oh okay, and we've been dating a little over what
is it like four months now?
Speaker 7 (05:07):
And you know, over that time, I met some of her.
Speaker 9 (05:09):
Family and I literally think I'm in love with her cousin.
Speaker 7 (05:14):
No, no, wait a minute, I'm saying her cousin, not
my cousin.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Her cousin, not your cousin.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Okay, what are you falling in love with your girlfriend's cousin?
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Why do you think you love her?
Speaker 7 (05:31):
I can't help it.
Speaker 9 (05:32):
I mean, I just think we have really good chemistry,
and you know, with the corny stuff like finishing each
other's sentences, laughing at each other's joke.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Oh god.
Speaker 9 (05:43):
You know, the last time I was around her, she
brushed my arm, and you know, I think I just
felt like there's something there, you know, I felt like
a part.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Oh my god, Please tell me. You have not said
anything to her about this? Have you acted on No?
Speaker 7 (05:58):
Okay, Oh, I haven't acted on her or anything. I
don't know if I'm imagining things or if I should
break up with my girlfriend.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
No, you need to break up with her because she
doesn't deserve you. Producer Blake, have you ever liked some
girl you dated her family member?
Speaker 3 (06:16):
I can say I've gone that close.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I would say you should have been any close.
Speaker 8 (06:22):
Look, I'm just saying, if you're feeling that strong, how
long has this been going on?
Speaker 7 (06:26):
Well, how long you've been feeling this way about a
couple of months?
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Just break up with your girlfriend because if you if
you are thinking about her family members, your girlfriend is
not the one and she does not deserve to go
through this.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Nate the cousin, stop.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
That's my advice.
Speaker 7 (06:41):
That's what I'm hoping to do.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
Oh my god, Cloop call the show. Eight three three
five oh one Bama is the number? Has something like
this ever happened to you?
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Has somebody broke up.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
With you for a family member or have you had
a crush on the person you were dating family member?
Speaker 2 (06:57):
What in the South is happening? Just eight three three
five I've one two two sixty.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
You were listening to the Alabama Show on demand.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
So we're talking about have you ever dated somebody and
then fallen in love with one of their family members?
Because Philip is falling in love with his girlfriend's cousin,
and Blake was like, this happened to.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Me something similar. Uh so my girlfriend, now, Elise.
Speaker 2 (07:20):
Don't tell me she was your ex girlfriend's cousin.
Speaker 6 (07:22):
No.
Speaker 8 (07:23):
I took her to introduce her to my grandparents, and
my grandmother.
Speaker 3 (07:26):
Goes, you know, Blake's got some cute brothers.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
And trying great. This is not similar at all.
Speaker 8 (07:32):
Yes, she tried to make her fall in love with
one of my brothers, kept telling her that he was
single and how cutie was, and showed her a picture.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
I'm noticing a theme.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Yeah, they don't like me.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Your girlfriend's dad was trying has been actively trying to
set your girlfriend up with other people, and your own.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Family is trying to set your girlfriend up with other people.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
I mean, you've met me, so.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
I know.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
And she stays with you, you better marry this girl.
Speaker 8 (08:01):
Oh I'm trying, but my grandmother and other forces are
in the wood trying to stop it.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Call the show.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
I'm real curious because Philip has only been dating his
girlfriend for four months. They met on bumble, so it's
not like they've been in a long term relationship.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
But I still think it's wrong that he's looking at
the cousin.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
He does need to break up with his girlfriend because
if he's looking at other women, she's not the one.
Eight three three five oh one Bama is the number.
That's eight three three five oh one two two six
y two.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
There's three things you need to know you with the
Alabama Show.
Speaker 4 (08:32):
Okay, So there's a big hike happening on Saturday on
Mount Shee Haul, the Pinhody Trail. It's the Make a
Wish Trailblaze Challenge. I am doing it and a lot
of other people are doing it. It's where we hike
twenty six point three miles. We've been training for months
to do this, all while raising money for Make a
Wish Alabama. All the money stays here in Alabama. So
if you want to come out and show support. First off,
(08:55):
you can still donate because Grant's wishes to kids who
have been diagnosed with a to cole illness. Go follow
the Alabama Show on social media.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
The link is there.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
But if you want to come out to support at
the finish line, it will be at Turnip Seed Campground
at Mount Chee Hall. You can bring camp chairs to wait,
snacks for the hikers, and games because it's going to
be a long day for all the hikers. So while
you're waiting, enjoy, your insurance company might be using a
drone to spy on your property.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
Good luck finding me, buddy.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
That really is becoming a thing. Drone inspections are becoming
more and more common. Insurance companies are starting to use
them because they say it's more efficient and you avoid
the risk or hazards involved when an inspector has to
physically walk around the property, and it gives the insurance
company real time views of a homes current condition.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
So if you see drown it might be your insurance company.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
And let's talk about Taylor Swift because human remains were
just found near her Rhode Island home.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
What literally they found a leg bomb. This is more
of a w.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
The it was a body part found wednesday morning. Police recalled.
It's a human leg bone is what they believe. They
think it washed up from the water because Rhode Island,
and they are investigating to find out who it belongs to.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
So, uh should I do it again?
Speaker 1 (10:10):
Why?
Speaker 3 (10:12):
My gosh?
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Anyway, that's three things you need to know.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
More At the alabamashow dot com, you were listening.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
To the Alabama Show on demand.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Here's what's awesome. Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:25):
This Make a Wish twenty six point three.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Mile hike that's happening tomorrow is almost over.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
It's almost over. I'm so nervous.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
Well, the good side of it is for the kids.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Not absolutely the Trailblaze Challenge.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
We do it to raise money for kids who've been
diagnosed with critical illnesses. But tomorrow, I, me and a
group of people are doing a hike for twenty six
point three miles in one day. It's longer than a marathon,
So wish me luck. But you can still donate right now.
We're almost at ten thousand. I'm a little over eight thousand.
The average wish costs ten thousand, So if you would
(11:01):
like to donate, all the money goes straight to make
a Wish, it goes straight to the kids. We'll post
the link on the Alabama Show and if you want
to support that, that's all there.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
But thank you for following on the journey.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Producer Blake here, what's awesome for listening to me complain
about the hike all week and I'll let you know
how it goes next week.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
Okay, thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
The Alabama Show on to me. It's free on the
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Here's what's awesome.
Speaker 4 (11:23):
I got to talk about Matt Matthews.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
Okay, he was so good. If you have good news,
call the show. Eight three three five oh one, bama.
Speaker 4 (11:30):
If you were at his concert yesterday, eight three three
five oh one, Bama.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Matt Matthews.
Speaker 4 (11:34):
You know him from TikTok, Get up, it's time to
do farm chores. He released an album, actually he dropped
two songs.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
The album will be out next month.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
But he did his first ever live concert where he
performed music, and we were there.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
It was at workplay.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
But what was cool is he didn't make any money
off of that. He literally just did the concert to
raise money for animals.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
Yes, and they were even giving away dogs for adoption yesterday.
Speaker 3 (12:00):
We were there.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Yes, there were dogs there.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
We gave away at the end of the concert a
check to the Animal League of Birmingham, which helps out
smaller animal rescues in the area that really do need help.
So from the ticket sales, it was like six thousand,
seven hundred whatever. But Matt grabs the check and he goes,
that was just from ticket sales.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
I'm going to match this too. And also donate that
out of my own money, which is so cool. I
love him.
Speaker 8 (12:25):
He is super nice and more genuine than most people
probably think he.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Really is, and I love that he was like, I'm
not doing this concert to make money. I'm literally just
doing it because this is my hometown and it's good
for my heart and it's good for the animals. So
Matt Matthews, we love you. You are what's awesome today.

You can call for whatever you want to talk about. Complain.
What are you thinking about?
Speaker 4 (14:49):
What's going on in the world, Producer Blake, what's on
your brain right now? Well, I feel like it's going
to be a rant, so I'm doing I'm giving you
the dramatic music.
Speaker 8 (15:00):
Well, oh gosh, this is tell us about the car wash.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Oh.
Speaker 8 (15:05):
So I went to get a snack yesterday after the
event we went to and I wanted some shoes sticks.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
And there's this lady that goes, hey, producer Blake.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Went through a drive through. We won't say the name.
Speaker 8 (15:18):
Of the restaurant, and she goes, you should come by Saturday.
Speaker 3 (15:23):

Speaker 1 (15:24):
Why.
Speaker 8 (15:24):
She goes, I'll be in a bikini. I said, that's great,

rant about it. And then she goes, there's another lady
gonna be here. She's about as white as an ox.
She'll be in howmis you she said that, and she
pointed at the lady too.
Speaker 7 (15:41):
That was.
Speaker 4 (15:44):
And then she told producer Blake to come watch her
shake it.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Yeah, she said, I'll even shake it for you. And
then she starts and while she's at the window, does.
Speaker 8 (15:52):
A little shake like she's like like doing a little movement,
and I go, uh huh, that is.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
I don't think that's the right sound effect for somebody
shaking it.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Well, this lady was, I promise.
Speaker 8 (16:03):
So then I go, ma'am, man, I just get my
my snack, and she goes she was the snack she
was hoping so and then she told me what time
she got off work, and I said, oh boy, okay,
