Speaker 1 (00:04):
Treelve, Alberts has been given a six year extension at
Texas A and M as their ad Here's something that's
kind of interesting. Dave Randa is not getting fired. He's
coming back next year to coach at Baylor in their
twenty twenty six season. You don't like that move too.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
I don't like that move, Andy. They listen. I understand
Baylor in it itself, Baylor, I get that. But so
twenty twenty one, twenty eleventh to twenty twenty one, Baylor
had by far its best decade stretching football ever. You
had RG three winning the Heisman Trophy winner, they won
a couple, They won the Big twelve a couple of times.
They tied obviously that one year at TCU, they made
a lot of key games, and then in twenty twenty
(00:40):
one that was their first outright, I believe Big twelve
women was twenty twenty one. That was twelve and two.
After that, it was three and nine, it was six
and seven, seven and five. Dave Randa has become and
I'm gonna use it again. I'm gonna say it again
to the cows come home. Dave Randa the last couple
of years has become Billy Napier at Florida. As soon
as he is on the hot seat, his back is
against the all the team is five losses. That is
(01:01):
when he coaches his best. You do not want a
coach that only coaches well when his job is on
the line.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Okay, I don't disagree with that. And I think the
Big Twelve is the weakest of the four conferences.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Well, don't don't bring that, come on now, Well.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
I think the Big Twelve is a conference that anybody
can win if you spend money. And right now, the
best team in the Big Twelve is unquestionably Texas Tech.
Now BYU's got money, and I think Houston has some,
although I'm not sure how much Tillman Furtita actually wants
to spend. Arizona State can find money because they're in
(01:38):
a major metropolitan city. I'm kind of puzzled why Colorado
is not doing better. But Colorado insists that deon Zer
guy and he's coming back. Utah is in the same
boat that BYU. Does they have money? The question is
is Baylor going to spend enough money to go get
the players?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Don't.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I can't tell you if Dave Randa is a good
coach bad coach are in different coach, but I can
tell you that it's the same boat I talk about
with every coach. If my roster is better than yours,
I'm going to out coach you more often than not
because my players are going to play better than yours.
And I don't think Baylor's roster is as good as
most of the rest of the Big twelve. All right,
the five o'clock hour next on the ticket.
