Speaker 1 (00:04):
The ball matchups will also be determined on Sunday along
with the CFP. CFP I think gets released what about
eleven o'clock or so, uh Sunday morning, So I think
they announced it on ESPN.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I mean there's a good chance for already hit.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Like no Twitter will know before ESPN puts it out
because somebody always leaks it.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Yeah, And the thing is is, like I feel like
after Saturday, we'll have a good idea of what at
least ten of the teams.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Are gonna be.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
It's gonna be like you and I talked about, like
those two one or two spots left, that's gonna be
like the biggest topic of discussion. But the bowl games, Yeah,
that's Sunday right afterwards. And that's always like, that's always fun,
especially if you're a team.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
Who like was on the bubble.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
It's on the bubble because Canna State.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Remember they Canna State opted out of a bowl game,
which doesn't surprised me because their coach set down the
ad is like, you know, trashing the team.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
The team is ready to move on what happened to Cannes.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Sometimes sometimes you're just not in the mood to go
play Cannas State used.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
To have like the best culture, and it feels like
that's just been tier.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Well, Snyder was a guy that created that, and that's
kind of and he made it a good place for
especially for JUCO players to go play. And then when
he left, they've just kind of tried to figure it
out since then, and they really haven't figured it out.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
And he was, you know, Bill was a guy that
could figure out how to get the local community involved.
And you know, I look at the same thing in
a lot of areas where when somebody, when somebody comes
in and wins, does that carry over when the next
guy comes in. Look at Florida Atlantic and Florida lank
went to the Final four two years ago. Nobody cares.

(01:38):
Boca Raton's got more things sorry about than their FAU
basketball team. As soon as this team a left, so
the program went back to what it was, just another
mediocre mid major and and you thought it would trickle
to the other sports. It did not, and that's unfortunate.
But so we'll see what happens there. Esp and events
they put on all these ball games, they determine when

(01:59):
the game are, they determine the TV times, They determine
the TV networks to the ESPN. Nothing happens unless ESPN
says it's going to happen, so they've already. They always
tell you in advance of this weekend who's going to
the Hawaii Bowl because you need to plan accordingly. Sure,
there's It is incredibly a big expense to take what

(02:22):
you need to go to Hawaii because it can't be
trucked there. You may not know this, but every college
football team has a basically an eighteen wheeler and a
trailer that carries shoulder pads, electric the all the equipment,
all the equipment, medical gear, you know, pretty much everything
except what the players need between the plane and helmets,

(02:46):
all that kind of stuff. It goes on the truck
and if depending on how far the game is, the
truck leaves the day before, two days before, three days before,
so like when they played at Temple, the truck left
at noon on Wednesday, and they have two drivers, maybe three,
and they it's a camper, a sleeper camper in the back,
and they rotate driving. Somebody navigates, somebody drives, somebody sleeps,

(03:11):
and that truck only stops for restroom brakes and some
coffee on the way if they don't have it in
their thermos, they're they're on a mission to get there
as quickly as possible. And then the advanced staff gets
there the day before the game and starts unloading that,
and then the rest of the staff gets there when
the team arrives and they unload it. And that's why
they also go to the stadium six hours before the game,

(03:33):
which is the bus that radio is on, because that's
the best ride for us, and that's how they get
the game all hooked up. And then when the game's over,
they load the truck back. The team and the staff
get on the plane and go and the truck driver
gets back to campus by Monday or Tuesday at the
latest and unloads all that gear for the next trip
and gets it cleaned up and moves on. So if

(03:54):
you're going to go to Hawaii, you obviously can't drive
a truck there, so all of that has to go
on an airplane, and it means you need a bigger
airplane that can carry the weight that all that stuff
has in the eighteen wheelers. So they always scheduled the
out of country games or out of the main the
main area of the States the mainland early and they've
already said that California will take on Awai and the.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Yi Bowl is gonna smack them.

Speaker 1 (04:18):
And why Hawaii always host this game because they don't
want unless they're ever in the CFP, they don't want
to travel and they're gonna just they're they're happy being home.
And then California is it's a lot easier destination for
a West Coast team to get there and maybe get
some of their fans there. But I think California is
the better team.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Yeah, they do, and.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
They have the better quarterback who honestly could be in
the portal once it's all said and done, just because
he's become one of the hottest names among among the
potential movers. But he's also like kind of reinvigorated what's
been a dead cal program.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Did you see? Also like they also announced like.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Well it's the Xbox Bowl, Yeah, which replaces the Bahamas Bowl.
It's played in Frisco, but it's not the Frisco Bowl.
This one's played a week before or five days before
the Fritzco Bowls.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
So they that's at the Ford Center, it looks, and
so is.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
The Frisco Bowl. Now the Frisco ball used to be
at toward a stadium, so both games now are at
the Star where the Cowboys practice, and that's a great stadium.
The Frisco Independent School District plays its games there now
we've been there for basketball, but it's set up for
a football stadium as well, so it's a good place
to do and especially that time of year, it's indoors,
so it's climate controlled.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
It's Missouri State their first ball game.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yeah, Missouri State in Arkansas, Arkansas States.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
That's that's always cool.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Whenever like a team like either hadn't been a bowl
game in decades or for the first time ever makes it,
that's always like a nice little store. But it also
tells me that Arkansas State's gonna smack them, because you
never trust those teams that are making their debut.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Uh. The athletic projects that UTSA is going to play
Western Kentucky at the First Responder Ball We'll find out
if fair accurate or not come Sunday afternoon. And they
also project a B y U USC in the album.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
E y U two Years in a Row. Okay, oh,
did you see that there was actually a third of
ball game announced?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I did not, which one did I miss?

Speaker 3 (06:07):
So it was the It's uh, it was the Camping
World Bowl. And it's still the Statey in Orlando. Oh yeah, yeah,
it's USF versus Oldest the Cure Ball, right, it's the
Cure Ball. Yeah, okay, Utsa went there a few years ago.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
The USF essentially gets to host this one, yes, but
Old Opinions not that far.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Though, Old Dominions in Virginia. So it's a two hour
flight there.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
Oh it's perfect because that means you get fans from
both sides to come to this one.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Yep, So that'll be good. That'll be good. And USF
plays in a different stadium. They play on campus in
Orlando instead of in that in that soccer stadium.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
I wonder if Byron Brown, though, is going to declare
and then opt out before the bowl game. Though. That's
gonna be interesting because, like I said, like this year's
quarterback class in the draft is going to be a
little wonky because some of the top names might not
go pro just yet.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
If they ever get legislation that does not violate anti
trust laws or the anti trust waiver, part of collecting
your nil money should be play in the ball game.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
I agree, that that's just unless you.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Unless you are medically not cleared to play in the
bowl game. You'll play in the ball game if you
have a legit injury and the trainer says, you know,
but then you can go back to everybody could pull
a Kawhi and go, well, I don't care what the
trainer says, my leg hurts. That that's how they get
opt out of it. But at least make it somewhat mandatory. Okay,
you don't have to play, but you're not get your
You're gonna we're gonna you're gonna go his money. You're

(07:26):
gonna lose a percentage of your inn, aisle Man. That's
why i'd pay him by the month, not I'm not
on in one check. Oh you're not playing in the
ball game. You don't get the December check. Sorry, let's
wait till January. All right. Uh, Lebron has a milestone
that stopped last night, and Mike Tomlin looks like he's
coming back to Pittsburgh. We'll talk about those two things
coming up on the ticket.
