Speaker 1 (00:04):
I got a question here as I was thinking during
the break before Wimby got hurt and was out of
the lineup, there was an interesting and dubious stat of
the day, and the stat was the Spurs of the
best defensive team in the league when Wimby's on the
floor and the worst in maybe the history of the
league when he's off the floor. And the difference was,

(00:24):
when you do the analytics, teams were averaging about one
hundred points a game in the minutes that he was
on the floor and averaging about one hundred and twenty
two points in the games when he in the minutes
that he was not on the floor. So it's a
huge discrepancy. And at the time that stat was released,
they were on pace to break Oklahoma Cities record for
best defense over a season from a year ago. But

(00:49):
collectively they weren't a great defensive team because of the
or weren't that high up because of the minutes where
Wimby wasn't on the floor. Still a great defensive team overall,
but record setting. Yeah, these games that Wemby's missed, however
long it becomes. I'm wondering now when Winby gets arrest
and goes to the bench. If this defense continues to

(01:11):
play as similarly as it is now, and maybe Luke
Cornett is a part of that to protect the rim
on the minutes that Wemby doesn't play when he returns.
But this nine games stretch so far, and I would
imagine it's going to be at least another week or
more before he's back. Maybe that makes this defense better
and makes it better when he's not playing in the

(01:32):
minutes that he's resting. A twenty two point swing just
feels like insane. And I don't know that was exactly
I remember it was. It was a stat that was
either on ESPN or on the Spurs broadcast, one of
the two, but it was it was a huge discrepancy
between him on the floor and him not on the floor.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Well, he does so much for you on defense, and
obviously everyone looks at the block shots by themselves, that
feels kind of like just a lazy statistic to look at.
It's impressive he could four blocks a game, but you
also have to look like the fact that, like he did,
he draws the better matchups. He also makes it hard
for teams to want to penetrate the post because he
the fear of the shot being blocked. He also allows
other guys to be able to key up more on

(02:10):
their guys on the outside of the wing and force
his guys to take more aland by shots. Maybe maybe
they don't want to take the three point shot, but
they know that once they get closer to the mid
range they ain't gonna have much of a chance to
make it. So it goes beyond just as simple what
he does with his hands. It's the effect around him.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
All right, let's get some quick predictions. James Bennetson just
kicked the field goal. I think James Mannetson beats Troy.
This is a home game for them. The sun Belt
plays at the highest seated site. Yep, So I think
James Madison wins the game. I'll take them me too,
Texas Tech BYU. I'm going with Texas Tech. You know
who I'm going with? Alabama? Georgium going with Alabama. Going

(02:46):
with the dogs. Uh and Ohio State I think beats Indiana. Yeah,
I did too, and I'll you know, let's go and
predict the rest.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Okay, North Texas tu Lane, North Texas Okay, Duke Virginia Virginia, Oh, Okay,
so you're going with the sape. Okay, this one could
kind of factoring if Duke wins, but only only if
Boise State wins.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
So Boyisse State and UNLB Boise State.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yeah, that's like the one thing is like, if Duke wins,
but they picked b White at Boisse State ranked higher
than them, that becomes like a a chaos issue because
if if Troy were in fact to beat James Madison tonight,
then and obviously other things happen. Oh God, I love this.
I usually only get this kind of chaos in college basketball.
I love that we're finally getting into college football.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Well, so many du scenario and what you really get
in college football is if a duke gets in the tournament,
that shouldn't uh, because but they know they earn a
way in. If Troy beats James Madison, and all the
different scenarios that are out there, there's so many, so
many different possibilities that could happen. Yep that uh, it's

(03:47):
gonna be chaos from the beginning. And that's what I
think is made. That's what makes march madness madness to
the one. H Well, it's early. I've watched I have
watched a few James Madison games this year because they've
been on TV on Friday nights when we were on
the road, and I think they're a really good football team.
Now I haven't. I can't say that I've seen Troy,

(04:08):
but I have seen James Madison play a couple parts
of a couple of games. I didn't appointment view them,
but you were as locked in. No, I got you, oh,
I think.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
And the the Troy quarterback just abated a sack and
ran in for a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
All right, No good for him. And and the a
C Championship game, the American Championship game is tonight on ABC.
And that was so they get the they get the
prime time slot.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
That's crazy because you think about it, Andy, the American,
no matter what, is guaranteed a playoff spot. Yes, just
based on how everything is set up. There's no well
I think a bit. The American is the second best
or the first best conference after the.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Power four schools. I don't think there's any question that
they have the best football program unless they regard the
Pac twelve next year as higher. The Pac twelve, I don't.
I mean, look at the time, I say you do,
I'm saying what the committee does. Well, I mean they'll
they'll be part of the group of seven or six
or nine or whatever it becomes. But Washington State and
Oregon State are the blue bloods of that conference. I
would say Boise and Boise. Maybe Boise has a little

(05:09):
bit of a pedigree, but everybody else in Colorado State,
Texas State, Washington, Washington State. Yea, none of that rings
a bell for me. All right, that'll wrap things up
for today. I'll see on Sunday from Alabama for basketball,
and on Monday we'll dissect the NFL games and we'll
know who the CFP is. Have a great weekend. Thanks

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
