Speaker 3 (00:30):
I am your host for the next couple days. Sam
Freeze filling in for Andy along with Shaner running the
running the program from the parts Unknown Stone Oak Palatial,
iHeart Studios here. Thank you for tuning in. Always fun
to be in palatial.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
It's palatial.

Speaker 4 (00:48):
I love though I don't know what what that means,
but I.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Love that, uh something as if it was a palace.
It's palatial.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
That's as if it's an ancient palace. Of This is
a I feel, this is as you should. It's a
Cowboys victory Monday. I even wore a collar. Now, granted
it's a flannel that I'm wearing open as a jacket.
But it still counts as a caller.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Mom. You know what hey with the last time the
Cowboys on Super Bowl that was very popular and everyone
else was wearing at the same time, so it's it's appropriate.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
The only problem is Shane, like most things, I was
wearing it then and I am still wearing it now
Like most Cowboys fans. It's been the same thing for
the last thirty years. That shirts from the nineties, it's
actually from the seventies as my grandpa's old shirt. It
is now what the hipster kids would probably refer to
as a fashionably vented vintage.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah. Man, we have so much to get to.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
As I said, Andy is out the next couple of
days traveling with utsa basketball.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
We actually have what times the game tonight?

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Yeah, pregames tonight is at seven thirty and then eight
o'clock tip against Abilene Christian same time tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
That hated Abilene Christian wild.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
Either the want to be text tech red Raiders.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
I have someone who played very short time of college
athletics in the city of Abilene at a university not
named Abilene Christian or Harden Simmons. I always like to see,
always like to see the two of those schools go down.
So hopefully UTSA gets the win tonight. As I said,
Andy out today and tomorrow, so you will be stuck

(02:20):
with me and Shane as we navigate what should be
a fun couple of shows off the hills of yesterday's
incredibly dramatic, incredibly unexpected. After a quarter and a half
of that game, of course, the Cowboys pull it out
with a twenty four to twenty one victory over another

(02:41):
hated team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Always fun to beat the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
I'm not I have said about it.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
No matter what the records are now granted, like, we're
not gonna sit here and tell you this is the
beginning of a charge towards the playoffs. This is the
year the Cowboys from Yeah, all you gotta do is
win out or you know, win five of your next
six and you're maybe going to They had a seven
percent chance to make the playoffs before the game yesterday.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Yeah, I think it moved up to like nine and
a half.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
I think it's like I think it was like thirty
one or something like that for like wild card and
like eight percent for the division.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
And I'm not The best I saw was the athletic
at thirteen percent.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
But I saw that was that playoffs at all or
as playoffs at all? Yeah, playoffs at all.

Speaker 4 (03:24):
Because right now you would think that there's like at
least four teams ahead of them in the wildcard, which
is crazy to think it might be easier to win
the division than it is to make the wildcard right now.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
So yeah, that's exactly that's why we're not even doing
it because I think you're exactly right.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
I think the like I'm not gonna sit here and.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Try to figure out who I should root for tonight
between the Niners and the Panthers as it as it,
you want.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
The Panthers to win because the Panthers right now, based
on how the Bucks are playing, they could win the
South and they could kick the Bucks out of the
wildcard race.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
See, and this is exactly we've done it three times
now after I said, we're not.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Going to do that because you know, the West is
gonna at least get Seattle and La in there. So,
like I said, like we just talked about, it's gonna
be easier to get the playoffs win the division. But
the Eagles still have a two and a half game lead.
If I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
That sounds right. What nine and three now, and.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
There remain a schedule like they have games and yeah,
they have games against Washington both times, the Giants. Then
they also play like the Bills, the Bears, and somebody
else like. So the Cowboys and Eagles each have a
schedule where both of them could realisticly go three and
three at like some sort of of realism. So I
would advise Cowboys fans, and I get your hopes up.

(04:32):
But it is a positive sign for the last couple
of games where this team is looking like moving forward,
which we'll get into obviously more throughout the rest of
the show.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Yeah, and that's where that's where I say, We're not
going to try to pump you full of sunshine and
unicorns and tell you that a playoff push is on
the horizon now after yesterday's result, But we are going
to celebrate yesterday's result throughout the program today. Of course,
gonna do couple of Cowboys segments here off the top,

(05:02):
gonna recap what we saw yesterday, and then next segment
we'll get into some sounds of the game. Of course,
it wasn't just Cowboys in action this weekend. We had
the Spurs drop a game yesterday. It was it lined
up perfectly where riding the highs, the emotional highs of
that Cowboys come from behind victory, and then right as

(05:24):
the game was ending, Spurs were tipping off and it
was just it seemed like the planets were aligning for
a quite enjoyable Sunday. But Spurs end up dropping that
game out in Phoenix. We'll talk about that here in
the first hour. I'm wearing my speaking of vintage, this
Texas Rangers had.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
I'm wearing I got at an.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
Antique shop in Cooperstown, New York, about three doors down
from the Baseball Hall of Fame to nineteen seventy two era.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Okay, right when the Rangers came. It's old.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, it's another it's it's actually maybe older than this
flannel i'm wearing. But yeah, you you said, I'm sorry. Yeah,
We've got to talk about some of the Rangers World
Series heroes that have just one that.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
It feels like and they're already rebuilding.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
That's the way baseball go. As Ron Washington would say.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
That's also pushing all your chips in for that one season.
And honestly, Rangers fans like, let's just be honest, you
would probably agree it was worth.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
It, oh one thousand percent. It wasn't short lived.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
It wasn't my money that they were spending. It wasn't
my half a billion dollars that they spend on. Seeger
Simeon and de gram who one of those guys is
gone and maybe the next two Mike Paid might be
on the way out. It's also not just all Rangers,
because we have the MLB hot Stove really kicking off now.

(06:48):
We also saw the Astros trade away one of their
last remaining pieces to their Dynasty World Series runs. So
we'll hit on some baseball here at the end of
the four o'clock hour five o'clock You probably already guessed
it by now. If I'm in the chair and there's
football to talk about, that means we're gonna do a

(07:08):
football happy hour.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Five o'clock will be all NFL.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
We'll get it some Cowboys winners and losers in there.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Along the way.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
We've got another another announcer struggling with the name of
the NFL's leading receiver. We have another name to add
to our Jackson Smith in Jigba Montage. Say either you
have to say his name either really really fast with
no confidence or really really slow with full confidence.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
I've told people before doing it practice of his second
last name. They have no problem with Smith. Literally, just
imagine there's a space between the inn and the j
in jigba boom.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
That's Sitsy.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Should be easy, right, And another of us said it
on TV honestly, Well, it.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Seems the people on TV continue to struggle with it,
and we have another he's also a Texas like I'm
lucky enough to have uh, you know, first tried to
pronounce his name when he was playing. I think it
was either I think it was Rockwall Heath, one of
the rock Wall schools up there in East Dallas.

Speaker 1 (08:08):
So he was a name. If you listen to.

Speaker 3 (08:14):
Tepper and Craig Waye doing the high school recap shows
every Friday night about five years ago, you heard his
name quite often on the broadcast. But still have some
TV personality struggling. So we'll get to that in part
of our NFL discussion in the five o'clock hour, and then,
like always, every good happy hour doesn't last just an hour,

(08:37):
we'll do a little elongated football happy hour to start
the six.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
O'clock gotta talk. I got to talk some college football.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Despite the he weren't a whole lot of good games
on the schedule this week, a bit of a cupcake
week as all the teams get ready for rivalry games
coming up this weekend.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
So we'll recap a little bit of what we saw.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Got a really on Arkansas Razorbacks stat for you as
it compares to an NFL team since Texas did take
care of business against Arkansas.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Arkansas was making a spot in this show.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Only because they played Texas I Association and because it
brings me, you know, for a lot of people my
age and a little how old are you again, Shane
thirty three? Thirty three? Okay, so you're a little you're
a little below the cut line. Arkansas and Texas was
still a massive, massive deal in my early childhood when

(09:33):
my sports fandom was really being curated and solidified. So yeah,
when Texas plays Arkansas, we talk about it and got
a fun Arkansas something to.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
Childhood.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
Well, all everything does eventually, eventually it gets back, at
least that's what the therapist said. And then we'll also
do something I do on the podcast. We do a
lightning round to close out the show. So each show
and today with all of the football that is mandatory

(10:07):
that we talk about, they're not just the Spurs. We're
lighting up our sports airwaves this weekend, including arguably San Antonio.
Outside of Wimby, San Antonio has another absolutely world class,
transcendent talent that was in action this weekend. I'll give

(10:30):
you a hint. He knocked the hell out of a
dude and smiled while he was doing it. So we'll
talk about that in the lightning round and then we'll
give way for Uncle Andy and utsa basketball coming down
at seven thirty. We do have a full show, right
we do this usually always happens to me.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
Tomorrow we're gonna be call off at six thirty for
the coach A Show and that's where Jay and Pat
are going to be at Roco Martia six thirty, seven thirty,
and then we're right back to Andy for seven thirty
pre game eight o'clock tip against Georgia Southern tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
We're dealing with a lot of stuff.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
So even more is that we may or may not
have a show on Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Well, don't even see. This is like the Cowboys just
live in the moment. Take it day by day the
Cowboys are.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
I'm a producer as well, so I have to account
for all this stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
No, no, no, trust me, as someone who said in that
chair before, you're much better off lowering your own personal
stress levels.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
Let's start with that, though.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
The Cowboys want to zero every week is how they've
got to take it. Yesterday was exactly that. Brandon Aubrey
after missing surprisingly missing a kick under sixty yards what
was it?

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Fifty one yard? Want to thank you. Yeah, we saw
a couple.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Kickers struggling yesterday, but fortunately for your Dallas Cowboys, Aubrey
got it together.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
And this is what it sounded like. Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
We're twenty one down, trying to pull off to come
back Aubrey from forty two, and the winner.

Speaker 1 (12:07):
Guts the Cowboys win.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
Maybe Neil looking.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Down from the blogs, of course. Uh.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
This is the first game Dallas has played at home
since the passing of Marshawn Kneeling Kneeland. A lot of
Marshawn Kneeland references.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
From the flag this number.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
It was pretty awesome, Yeah, carrying it out as they
ran out of the corporate sponsored tunnel at Jerry World.
But even more even cooler, even more inspiring, uh seeing
them wave it after the game after they tied their
largest comeback ever beat the division rivals Philadelphia Eagles on

(12:51):
a last second field goal.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
We're gonna we're.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Going to do a lot of the main you know,
quote unquote analysis. We're gonna talk numbers in the five
o'clock hour. I figured to start the show this first
hour since we're all still feeling, you know, pretty.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
I mean, i'd be lying if I try.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
I try to claim to be a Cowboys nihilist, but
it's impossible with this team, because at least not today.
So we're gonna have some fun with some sounds of
the game, some of the big plays from yesterday, and
some of the weird noises Tom Brady keeps making.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Coming up next here on the ticket
