It is the birthday of one Eldrick Tiger Woods, who
turns fifty tomorrow. Really that means he is That means
he is eligible to play in Champions Tour events on
the PGA Tour when their season starts in about three weeks.
Speaker 2 (00:18):

Yes, Lebron have the same day. That's same birthday. That's ironic,
right they were born what is that forty eight years apart?

Lebron was born eighty four.

Eighty four, No, nine years apart, yeah, nine years.

It's crazy thing just because like I grew up with
like Tiger Woods being like the face of golf still
is I mean yeah, I mean fair Brady's also kind
of still the face of Like there's some athletes that
even when they retire, still the face until like I mean,
even when another face takes over, like you just recognize
because of that one guy. But so, remind me about

the Champions Tour.

Because I'm Champions Tour golfers over fifty golf carts are allowed.
There's twenty five events. They play about three events a month.
Some months they take off some months they are some
months they hardly ever play off as the majors, so
it's kind of scattered. You can plan as many as
you want and you get points towards the FedEx Cup

and are the Charles Wab Cup. That's what I'm gonna
ask about. How it affects does not affect the FedEx standings.
Champions Tour golfers get no FedEx Cup points. My guess
is if he plays, he'll play in three or four
this year as tune ups to the majors. He's still
recovering from the back surgery in September, and my guess
is that he doesn't consider even playing until March. He

is ramping up his golf game and we'll see. I
don't think we'll see him even at the TGL League
which starts this week as well. But anyway, it's out
there that Tiger could potentially get to the Champions Tour
as a tune up for some of the majors that
he may or may not choose to play year.

He talked about the Golf Show I think last week
the week before last week, and David wouldn't on there
that that is not just the injuries that are affecting him,
but he does not have the same power of a
swing that he used to have.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Well, he can still hit it far enough, and from
a chick A Champions Tours perspective, he'll be one of
their longest hitters. I mean, he's still gonna have one
sixty five to one seventy ball speed, which means he's
gonna fly at three ten, and most of the guys
on the Champions Tour don't hit it that far. The
golf courses are considerably shorter. He'll have a lot of
wedges and nine irons end of holes he'll distance won't

be a factor for him yet. But I don't think
he can just play the four Majors and make the
cut unless he gets under the gun in some real competition,
which I think the Champions Tour will allow him to
have six o'clock hour coming up. John Klipari and Marcus

The Burden
The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary.
