The SEC to go to a 9-game conference schedule starting 2026.

The SEC has said, Okay, we're going to do this.
We're going to go to a nine game conference schedule
next year, and that means you're only going to get
three non conference games. So the Longhorns next year don't
have to worry about anything. They have three back to
back to back games at home in dk R, Texas State,
Ohio State, and UTSA. Let's hope Texas State and in

Ohio State wears the mat a little bit before UTSA
plays up there next year on September nineteenth, so they're
not going to have to change any of their schedules
or move games around. Let me look at some of
their other dates in here. If I can get this

with this being this, this being their deal. I understand
why they're doing it, but I like it's like twenty
seven they have they have Texas, they have New Mexico, Michigan,
and U TAP at home. So they're going to play
three straight home games the fourth, eleventh, and eighteenth in

twenty twenty eight. I know UTSA is on that schedule again,
but they play Louisiana Tech and Notre Dame before. So
here's the thing. I think every coach in the world
wants to have an easy game from time to time,
and Louisiana Tech and you could probably say, who knows
what UTSA will look like in twenty twenty six and

twenty twenty eight when they play those teams. You can
say that those could be easy games, but UTSA made
it tough on them in twenty twenty two or yeah
twenty two, not as much last year in twenty twenty four.
But occasionally those small, smaller conference teams, the group of
five teams can make make you a little bit nervous.

But the fact that Notre Dame is on the schedule
and Michigan is on the schedule, in Ohio State's on
the schedule are still things that the league wants to
have that marquee matchup out of conference. My biggest concern
about what we're doing in college football is that we're
creating NFL schedules. And I know these athletes are in
tip top shape and they're getting better than they've ever

been before, and all those kind of great things, But
I think by the time we get into late October
and November, we're going to have some beat up football
teams because you're going to be playing against really good
teams each and every week, and there's not going to
be that Patsy in November anymore for you to kind
of win and rest at the same time. More about
