Speaker 1 (00:02):
All right, it's four thirty eight. It's the Andy Everage
Show on the ticket. Another move that was made this
past twenty four hours was the Phoenix Suns deciding that
they were going to extend one Devin Booker and give
him one hundred and forty five million dollars. So he
(00:24):
is going to be quite well. Now, let's see, he's
going to make I believe they've updated this.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
He's he's on the books now through the twenty nine
to thirty seasons.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Correct.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
He already has a contract that was going through the
twenty eight correct or the twenty.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Seven to twenty eight season, So add seventy two million
to twenty eight, twenty nine and twenty nine thirty. He's
already making two hundred and twenty million over the next
three Well, take out twenty four to twenty five, so
he's making fifty three, fifty seven and sixty one. That's fifties,
that's one hundred ten, that's one hundred and seventy one
million for the next three years, and then he gets
(01:04):
seventy two and seventy two. Now, let me run down
some of his teammates, because we know Bradley Beal is
going to be released and go someplace else, so he
will not be on the roster. This is the rest
of the team for the Sons, and some of those
players are not signed yep yet for this year. But
the ones that are on the on the roster are
(01:26):
Grayson Allen, who was a flop last year, didn't play much,
I still making seventeen million dollars, Roy O'Neill who doesn't
do much for me either, Ryan Dunn, Nick Richards, and
osa Igadaro.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
That's who's on the roster right now.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Now. They could potentially resign some of the players they
had last year, but none of these are going to
float anyone's vote either. Ty Ty Washington, Jalen Bridges, Colin
Gillespie ball Ball, Tyris Jones, Monty Morris, Mason plum Lee,
Damian Lee.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Well. Remember, uh, they did make some trades and a
lot of those the players that you're that you're saying
are not on you know, have not re signed because
Mason Plumbley went to I believe he went to not
Seattle to Charlotte. They got Mark Williams from Charlotte, and
because remember they traded Kevin Durant, they got Jalen Green,
(02:23):
they got Dylan brook Dylan Brooks as well. They have
the guy that you and I were kind of hoping
would fall to the Spurs at eight with Kaman mallawatch.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
So they got a rookie they got.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
I think I think Green and Dylan Brooks and Brooks. See,
Brooks doesn't do anything for me. I think Brooks is
just He's a weaker version of Draymond Green. At least
Draymond Green puts up points and rebounds and assists occasionally.
I don't know that Dylan Brooks puts up any numbers
that are worthy of of having him on the roster.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I think Dylan Brooks and Grayson Allen are going to
have a running tally with each other, an inside bed
who can make who can be the dirtiest player in
the league. Grayson Allen is a very dirty player, very
dirty player.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
Dylan Brooks it likes to go to everybody into doing
things and bait people into technical fouls and he gets
a bunch of himself. But even with the if I'm
Jalen Green, I'm so disappointed, I'm calling my agent and going, dude,
if you can work out a trade, I'll go anywhere. Now, listen,
I would love to if I were an NBA player,
living in Phoenix would not suck. You've got great weather,
(03:29):
especially in the winter time. By the time the season
rolls around, it's relatively cool. You're going to be done
in April, so you're if you want to leave during
the summer when it's one hundred and thirty, you can.
But Phoenix is a really cool cosmo. Bollatontown lots if
you like activities, if you like outdoor activities, if you
like golf, if you like you can go to the
Grand Canyon. It's two hours away. The Phoenix is a
(03:51):
great place to go. And they have no income tax either.
So if you're an NBA basketball player, Phoenix is not
a bad destination. But if you actually want to win,
this is not where you need to be for the
next two or three years. So they they don't have
a lot of guys. That roster may be the worst roster.
And that's why I say with Jalen Green, because Stillan
(04:13):
Brooks hasn't care where he plays. He's just going to
be the the anti hero and every and every and
and and the villain and every play he's in, every
game that he's in. I think Jalen Green actually has
some game, and he's never going to get to showcase
that game where it's going to matter with the Phoenix Suns.
I have the Phoenix Suns finishing dead last next year
in the NBA. Wow, I think they're going to be
(04:34):
the number one pick in the draft.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Well, they wouldn't because they don't own their draft pick.
That's they don't own their draft picks till.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Like they'll be the number one whoever has their pick
and I can't remember who it is, but but they
but they are going to get to pick Phoenix because
I don't think Phoenix is going to win twenty games.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Wow, they're gonna They're going to finish worse than the Purgatories.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
Well, I'm just going by the West right now. The
East I don't even care about because he said the league. Well,
in the league, well, Washington might get to twenty three wins.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
But I just think Phoenix. I think Phoenix.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
When you look at the teams in the West, I
don't see how Phoenix.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Phoenix is in a three to.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Five year rebuild and by the time Mallowatch is ready
to resign his extension, they might be a playoff team.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
But it's going to be a while.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
I think there's four other teams that are not going
to make the playoffs next year either. I know you
like the New Orleans roster, I just don't like their culture.
I just don't think they have the right culture to
win there. Portland is still trying to figure out what
it wants to do, and nobody wants to go there.
And there's even people in Portland that wish they would
(05:44):
reach back out to Damian Lillard and invite him there
whenever he can play. But even if he can, I
don't think that's going to happen. And I don't think
Memphis is going to be very good because they're in
the midst of a fire sale. They did re sign
Jalen or Jared Jackson junior, but the the John Morant
(06:05):
thing is about to be over with I think, and
John Morant may play himself out of the league if
he's not careful, because the guy is incredibly talented but
just has got so it's so immature and just doesn't
care about making it about basketball. It's about being a celebrity.
It's about being an influencer. It's the Instagram stuff, it's
(06:26):
the gun stuff.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
He needs to focus on basketball.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
And if John Morant would just focus on basketball and
kind of go Mamba mentality the way Kobe did, I
think he could be the best, one of the.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Best players in the league. I just don't think he
wants to be.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
I think he enjoys being a celebrity more than he
enjoys being a basketball player.
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Well, you know, remember as well that they moved off
of Desmond Bane. They traded him to Orlando for picks
Cole Anthony and I forget who the I'm I'm probably wrong.
I think it was Tavious Caldwell Hope as well.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Yeah, but they got four picks too.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
But that's not going to help you until the future,
which the future would be good for Memphis. And my
guess is if and if I was the owner of
the of the Grizzlies, I would sit Jaw down and say, listen,
I think you're a fantastic talent, but if you're not
going to play basketball, I'm going to find somebody else
to run to be a part of this team. Uh,
And I'm going to trade you to whoever will will
(07:23):
give me whatever I can get for you.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Well, but I mean he had that talk with the commissioner.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
Not he did once, he did twice or twice, but
I don't think he had that talk with the guy
right in the check And if I, if I own
the Grizzlies, I would find a chance to meet with
him at some point before training camp starts and says
you got until January to show me that you want
to be a basketball player, because by January, if this
(07:48):
team is, you know, eight and twenty seven, and we're
going nowhere and you're the problem and not the solution,
I'm going to find somebody that wants you, and I'll
take whatever I can get for you, and we're gonna
move off of you and your ridiculous salary and your attitude.
He can go to the Burgatory, he can go, and
if I can, you send him to Washington see how
he likes it there.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
So I don't.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
I don't think Memphis, Portland, New Orleans and Phoenix and
the other team that I think is gonna have a
good season for them but not quite be ready for
the playoffs. She had his Utah. I think Utah is
still going to be in the rebuilding mode, but they're
on the right track. And I don't know whether Ace
Bailey is going to be their answer or not. But
he's super talented and he's going to be around people
(08:30):
that can develop him. And Utah will make a leap
from being one of the worst teams to still being
a bad team, but not quite in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
So they were seventeen and sixty five last year.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
So I got him winning twenty eight, twenty eight to
twenty nine games, thirty games somewhere in that range.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
That's a big jump.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, ten ten games swing, ten ten, ten, eleven game swing. Okay,
because I think Memphis, Portland, New Orleans, and Phoenix are
going to take a dive, all right, So here's my
order of finish for the top ten next next year
in the West. I'm gonna go with Houston number one.
Their roster is just unbelievable, and I hope the Thunder
are good again. I like watching them play. I like Shay,
(09:09):
and I'm over the fact that I used to live
there and it's fun for the people that I know
that are friends and family members that still live in Oklahoma.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
I don't really care about that.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
I just think the story is good when you have
a small market team that is able to be competitive,
and I think that's.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
What sports should be about.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
So I wish the Oklahoma City offense was a little
bit more creative, but they're a good team, and I've
got Oklahoma City second. I think the Houston will win
around sixty games, and I think Oklahoma City will win
close to that but not quite. My third place team
is going to be a conference finalist for the last
two years, and that's Minnesota. They're still a good team.
(09:48):
I just don't think that they've got what it takes.
I don't think Anthony Edwards needs to get Mamba mentality
and again pay more attention to being a basketball player
than anything else in Minnesota will be better. A team
that is going to be my dark horse to be
a conference finalist next year and is going to be
the fourth best team in the West is the Dallas Mavericks.
(10:09):
So I'll get to so Dallas is going to be
four and I am way overtime, and I didn't even
realize I was overtime. So I'll tell you the rest
of them in the next segment. And it's four forty
eight on the ticket.
