Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, it's five thirty eight. It's the Andy Everage
Show on the ticket. I was disappointed this year in
March when Jimmy Butler did not want to live up
to his Miami contract, because how dare you disrespect the
fact that I deserved more years even though I really
haven't I'm even though I'm thirty six years old, And

(00:23):
that he was losing his joy because fifty million dollars
was just too much to overcome and he needed another
fifty million from Golden State to rekindle and refine and
find his joy once again. But I will give Jimmy
Butler some credit. I thought he had a pretty decent
playoff series. He didn't play great last night, but neither
anybody else for Golden State. And when Steph Curry pulled

(00:43):
his hamstring, this series was over.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Hey, Potchinski played pretty well. Who cares.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
He's a role player, but just he can play good, bad,
or indifferent. He's not going to make the difference in
the outcome of any game he's going to ever play in.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Wow, would you agree? Disagree? I don't know, right, I
don't know if I would go that hard.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
He may have one of those games like like Sandro
had earlier in the year, we scored thirty four and
pull down nineteen. But let me see you do it again.
You know that you can always find a you know,
an acorn somewhere, but it's not always gonna it's not
always gonna work. He's he's like the fourth option on
that team. It's Curry, Curry, Curry, and then occasionally it's
Butler and and Uh and Draymond.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
What he feels like playing.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Hard, He's a good he's a good third fourth option.
He's a good role player.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yes he is. I will give you that.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
I don't know if I would go that far saying,
you know, he's like somewhere towards the bottom.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
No, he's not gonna make a difference in if if Curry,
Butler and Draybond Green and this current configuration of Warriors
team doesn't do something well and doesn't have their their night,
And I don't think Pojenski's gonna make that big of
a difference unless he has a thirty point nine that
then he would. But he's gonna average on of was

(02:03):
average fourteen a game, twelve a game something like that.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Twelve.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
Yeah, if that's his role, he's not going to become
h Klay Thompson overnight. Good player, not great player. He's
not going to make the difference usually in the outcome
of most games. Occasionally he may be able to.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I mean, who's to say that he can't though, because
he could be.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
He could be like the next Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
And I could play on the on the PGA Champions
Tour next week.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
But it's not going to happen.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Of course, you could again, because like you mentioned before,
Jimmy Butler, you could you could argue that, like Patchemski
was either the second or third option behind you know
again a lot.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
He probably became the third option. But how well can
he do the third option.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
He's not a terrible player, He's not not terrible that
he's not the difference maker.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
He's a good role player.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
So but here here's the point, Draymond Green, and I
even think Steve Kerr said last night that Jimmy Butler
is a cat list and what the Warriors could potentially
be next year.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
They got a lot of holes to fill. They're old.
That's they are an old basketball team.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Steph Curry's thirty six and Butler thirty six to seven.
Maybe Curry's thirty eight, and Draymond's up there as well,
and they do not have a deep team, and they
got to figure out what they can get for Kaminga
because right now it's not gonna be very much. They
got to figure out what they're gonna do with Looney.
I'm not sure how he fits into their future plans.

(03:28):
I am a I like Steph Curry. I like to
see greatness and I like to see innovative things. And
Steph Curry has changed the way we play basketball in
the years that he's been in the limelight. But that
team is gonna be really hard to make the playoffs
next year without a lot of different roster moves and
to get younger and more athletic quickly.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Yeah, Steph is thirty seven, he'll be thirty eight this year,
Jimmy Butler thirty five, He'll be thirty six, and then
the most overrated player in the National Basketball Association, Draymond
Green will be thirty six as well. And then your
guy Buddy Heeled that reverted back to normal, not showing up.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
But Buddy Healed has had a I think Buddy Held's
a good player, not a great player again, not a
difference maker, but he's he's pretty good on certain nights.
There's a lot of players in the league that are
like him, and if if you needed somebody like that,
I think he would be really good here in San Antonio.
I just don't know that there's a place for him
when you look at all those different players that are

(04:23):
on the roster playing basically the same position that he does.
Bryce and Deshambo by the way, just hit it to
about two inches.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Was he missed a putt earlier? I was waiting for him.
He missed a whole of one by two inches.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
I was waiting for one of the clubs to get
broken or thrown at the bag.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
And yeah, well anyway, but.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Anyway, I think that when Steph Curry was their only
hope last night, I don't think Minnesota is a good team.
I think they're I mean a great team. I think
they're a good team. Minnesota plays two LASA days ago.
For me, they should have blown out Golden State these
last couple of games, and they let him hang around
a little bit, and so the outcome I never thought
was in danger. But I think they could have had

(05:05):
a little bit better rest for some of their starting players.
Had those starters played better and more consistently as the
game went along. The one player for Minnesota that has
all of a sudden had a renaissance in these playoffs
is Julius Randall.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I've always thought Randall had the potential to do what
he does, but most nights he does not, and Randall's
been a big difference maker. I think Oklahoma City is
going to beat Denver in one of the next two games,
and the Oklahoma City is going to the finals. But
I just don't think that Minnesota can beat either one
of those teams in the next series.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
It's not.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
It's not surprising that Julius Randall is playing well Andy.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Because he's under He's in a contract year.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
He has a player option for next year that he
can opt out of a thirty point nine million dollars.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Well, who's going to pay him more than thirty point
nine million? I mean somebody might somebody Listen.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
I would not take that gamble if I were him,
because you can't ask around. Hey, am I worth more
than thirty point nine million? Okay? I am, Okay, I'll
opt out.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Somebody might might think that he's worth me. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
He also may become Dennis Shrewder also and get paid five.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
I don't know if we would go that far. Somebody
would at least pay him thirty, but yeah, he is.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
I would not pay Julius Randall thirty if he's getting
thirty next year from Minnesota. That's your residence for the
next couple of years. You need to deal with that,
all right. Boston played better last night. They came to life,
so they forced Game six back in New York. I
think this is a must game for the next I
don't even though Boston's hobbling. I don't think you want

(06:41):
to play in Boston Garden. In Game seven. Bad things
happen are our TV garden now. I don't think good
things happen in Boston, and Game seven's usually for the
visiting team. Occasionally they do, but the NIXT need to
take care of business and then set up that date
with Indiana shortly after that. All right, I got another
story to share with you here to say. We'll get
to that next. Plus we'll talk to NFL and the

(07:02):
Olympics and a little bit more. It's the Andy Everage
Show on the ticket
