Thursday: UTSA Gets a BIG Donation

UTSA got a seven million dollar gift from added Linda Whittaker,
who have been donors to UTSA for some time in
other areas, and some of this goes to the university
in two million, but I believe goes to athletics. It
didn't earmark what the two million would directly go for
in athletics, whether it was more facility stuff or if

it was going to go towards nil. But in the
bowl game press conference that he did when it was
announced this past Sunday, Jeff Traylor was talking about the
work that he and doctor Lisa compos have done in
order to try to find a solution to getting more
in IL money for the team. The top dogs in

the in conference in American Conference are South Florida, probably
in the nine to ten million dollar range, and I
think they're going to go up from that at some point.
Their goal is to get to twenty like the big boys.
I think South Florida. If there is a team in
the American Conference that will ever leave for the ACC
or the SEC, or let's say Notre Dame decides to

go to one of those conferences, and they need somebody
to balance it out. So it's an even number. The
south Ford is a place that they can look at
because they're willing to spend the money and they have
the infrastructure in place to get their ANILE numbers up there. Now,
they're building a new stadium on campus and I'm told
only is going to see about forty thousand, so that
may not be a big enough stadium for some of
those conferences, but anyway, UTSA needs to get the numbers
