Speaker 1 (00:08):
And there's discussion that the All Star Game next year
would be a Team America versus Team World, and Michael's
already not very happy about that because he doesn't like
it that the American team will have all guards. So
we'll get into that coming up here in just a
little bit. We've also got some Luca news and a
few other things. The forty nine ers today signed Kittles

(00:30):
to a pretty much a lifetime contract. It's a four
year deal total seventy six million. He probably won't get
all of it. I think some of that's guaranteed, some
of it's not. They're basically saying you're the tight end
this year and next year, and then we'll see how
you're doing, and if we want to keep you around,
then there's some outs in years three and four of
that deal. This is a good move by a good organization.

(00:52):
I think San Francisco is consistently good because they know
what they're doing for the future. Now, I think they're
about to make a terrible mistake if they give brought
perty fifty million dollars. If they give in between forty
and forty five, I think I could live with that.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
If I were a forty nine er fan.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
I'm not, but if I were, I could live with
that because you still have some flexibility in the salary
cap to get somebodies around him. Uh but Deebo Samuel's
already gone. I think he went to Washington, right, Yes,
And so now you've got Ayuk who's coming off of
an ACL You've got Kittles, You've got an okay offensive line,
but you're losing Trent Williams. And you've got McCaffrey, who's

(01:30):
a question mark about his health at the running back spot.
But you have one of the premiere tight ends in
the NFL the last few years. He's thirty four or
five years old, so he's running out of time. But
when Kittles plays recklessly and plays well, that's a good
target for Party or whoever's playing quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Should Party not be in there?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
I think I want to say Kittle is actually younger
than that. I don't think he's that old. I think
I thought the day they said he was thirty four,
I swear he's closer to like thirty one.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Maybe thirty one? Yeah, right one. Then Colin and Dan
were wrong today.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Wow, go figure Colin Cowherd being wrong?

Speaker 1 (02:14):
What maybe by the time this contract's over with, he'll
be thirty four to thirty five. That could have been
what they were talking about, but probably.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
I think it may.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
You know, you want to keep your players that your
fans like, that you're and too often we get into
the business of things and players who are well liked
have to leave because of contractual issues and you just
can't make it work. But for the forty nine ers
to be proactive enough to figure out a way to
make it work, I think is a good thing. And
you know, I was were critical of Jerry Jones and

(02:43):
Stephen Jones. I don't think that they are necessary. I
thought they had a really good draft. I think as
general managers in this draft they did well. But there's
times that they have an opportunity to go get somebody
else that could really help them, and they claim, well,
we don't have the salary cap to do it, and
then fourteen other teams that have the same salary cap
issues that they do figure out a way to get

(03:05):
it done. We were talking about we were talking the
other day. I don't know what I was talking to,
maybe on this show as well, but R. C. Buford,
who's the president of the Spurs Sports entertainment here.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
One of his claim to fames.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
When he was a young coach and a young general
manager is he figured out the salary cap. He was
salary cap genius, and he's a pretty smart person to
begin with, but he figured out ways around that cap
so that the Spurs can compete as a small market franchise.
And look at all the trades and the moves that
they were able to make. And I'm sure he taught
those same things to Brian Wright. And there's NFL general

(03:39):
managers that really understand the cap, and there's others that
what's the cap? Well, we got to center this number,
and they don't know how to officially move salaries around
so that they can get the players they need to
be competitive. Five o'clock hours. Coming up next, it's the
Andi everage show on the ticket
