Speaker 1 (00:08):
Dylan Emery, host of the Fanatics.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Right here on ticket seven sixty is Andy is on
va K and we're going to get you home in
this five o'clock rush hour, and we're going to talk
about people that just didn't show up.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
To work today.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
You know, it's that holiday, it's you know, it's one
of those things. It's the holidays, and nobody showed up,
Kirk Cousins being one of them. Of course, I'm going
to talk about professional athletes. So here we go. Kirk
Cousins didn't show up to OTA's in Atlanta because he
wants out. I think he's guaranteed one hundred and eighty
million something like that.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
Why not just show up and be number two? Would you?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
At this point in your career? What is Kurt trying
to prove to me?

Speaker 3 (00:49):
I think it goes back to when he was originally
signed last year. Is the organization was committed to him. Granted,
I believe it was coming off of an achilles injury
alla Aaron Rodgers, but I you know, I again, when

(01:10):
the Falcons took Michael Pennix Junior with the eighth pick,
I believe it was a shocker to me. I think
it was probably a shocker to Kirk Cousins, and he
didn't do himself justice with like what the last three
or four games of the season where he just kind
of started a nose dive. Yeah, and they decided to
throw out the young guy out there. So he's getting

(01:33):
paid regardless. And let's be honest as well. This is
voluntary OTAs.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
I get it. I get it.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
But at the same time, if you're trying to make
yourself better and if you're trying to prove yourself over
this kid basically, because that's what we're looking at, right,
we're trying to prove ourselves, show up. I've never seen
kind of this kind of attitude from Kirk Cousins. I
think it's weird, to be honest with you. I just
think that he should just show up and put.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Out the effort, you know.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I mean, he could probably go to another team if
he wanted to. I mean, if he wants to go
down the road to New Orleans, feel free give him
a call, you know. But I don't think Atlanta would
be looking to give, you know, a quarterback to New
Orleans anytime soon. But at the same time, it's like
it's just weird, you know, and you've got a couple
other guys. James Cook, you know, he's holding out on

(02:26):
the bills OTAs because he's winning an extended contract and
stuff like that. So this is the time of year
where we start seeing these guys not show up. You know,
it's voluntary, which I totally understand, totally understand.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I think it is in Kirk cousins situation, Like how
you mentioned, you don't really see it with him because
he's always been, at least in his career, a guy
who's always bet on himself, right going back to the
you know, Washington team back in the day, it was
he was always you like that, the franchise tag you
like that, and always betting on himself.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
And but that injury killed him.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, you know, and that's unfortunate because Kirk Cousin was
kind of being that NFL's favorite player, you know, like
he was like the NFL dad.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
It kind of felt like he was like the dad guy.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
You know, he drove the astro van and he drove
the you know, he wore cargo shorts and everything else
like that in the world. But again, he's holding out, which, okay,
you can do that. I guess I'll be fine with that.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Well, but maybe again it is voluntary OTAs, but maybe
it's also something that him and the organization and his
agent have all come to terms and said, look, we're
not going to show up to OTAs. We're not going
to show up to training camp or anything like that
because with some of the other potential landing places that
he can go.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
It's we don't want to risk him possibly getting hurt.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Yeah, so you could look at it from that standpoint
as well. True, because it but on the notion of
like how you were saying, just show up. If you
show up camp, then you can show teams and display
to teams. Hey he still has it, Hey he has
that extra giddy up.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
He doesn't.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
He doesn't look like he's kind of lost a step
to where now if your team a maybe we go
ahead and go take him. But that being said, I
don't think you're gonna get anything higher than a fourth
round draft pick for Kirk Cousins.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
If that I mean I would take him in New Orleans.
I'll tell you that.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Of course you would.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
You know, I've been meaning to ask you because I
totally totally missed out on this. Yeah, but the NFL
Kirk Cousins, by the way, is better than Dak I'm
gonna throw that out there. Okay, sure, I just think
he is. I'm just letting you.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Know statistically they're pretty much.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Statistically that they're pretty much equally true.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
I want to go over the Cowboys schedule because sometimes
I feel like with Cowboy fans, you got to be realistic.
You gotta let stuff set in right, because I've been
seeing some videos. You know, my friend Manny wants me
to actually go up to Dallas for Thanksgiving as they
play the Chiefs. Is that who they're playing?

Speaker 4 (05:09):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Yeah, yeah, you guys are gonna lose because it's the Chiefs.
It's literally Cowboys and Indians on Thanksgiving.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Think about that, folks.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
But anyways, I want to go over what it's true.
Sometimes people, you have to understand this. Mike sometimes cringes
a lot when I say things. But it's true. Is
it not true? Prove me wrong? Hit me up on
Twitter or x whatever.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
It's called.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Cowboys Eagles September fourth, twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
You like that one? Do you want that?

Speaker 4 (05:41):
That's? Is that the opening game?

Speaker 3 (05:44):
One? That's the opening I like it because you get
the Philadelphia road game.

Speaker 4 (05:49):
Out of the way early. Okay, don't you don't have
to deal with it.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
That blowout, well, you don't have to deal with it.
And possibly December where the weather could be uglier.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
You go ahead and get it out of the way now.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
Now question, Yes, if you guys happen to win that game,
are we super Bowl bound?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (06:05):
No, not only NFC East Championship bound.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
I would say by week at least for me, I
have to go by at least week six, maybe even
halfway through the season before I completely.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
October twelfth, You when you face the Panthers, that's week six.
That's that's when you're gonna know where you're at.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
I think that's relatively safe to say so.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Winter loss winner loss, Cowboys Eagles first game of the season,
yep seven kickoff.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I'll say Cowboys win only because obviously the Eagles coming
off of the super Bowl, there's always a Super Bowl
lull and it's like Championship night though, Yeah, it is
Championship night, so adrenaline could.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
Be the toush push is in full effect.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Yeah, don't even get me started.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Love the touch push. I'm so glad I got passed.
Figure it out, try to stop it. Why is this
such a bad thing? Anyways? Week two Giants, Cowboys win? Okay,
Cowboys Bears when Packers Cowboys?

Speaker 4 (07:11):
When? Really? Wow?

Speaker 2 (07:13):
So we've got one two three, we're starting off undefeated, Mike,
Cowboys Jets.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Win, Cowboys Panthers.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
That should be a win?

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Is that when you're booking your Super Bowl tickets? Because
I because by then, according to your calendar, Mike, theyre's
six and zero.

Speaker 3 (07:31):
If all if all aspects of the Cowboys to where
you get a legit number one slash, number two receiver
with George Pickens, if the offense is healthy, if the
defense is healthy. Again, that's big ifs. But that's always
every NFL season. You know, if Patrick Mahomes gets hurt,

(07:54):
what happens to the Chiefs?

Speaker 4 (07:55):
If that gets hurt, what happens to the Cowboys?

Speaker 2 (07:57):
What happened last year too? Yeah? Seven and Commanders Cowboys.
That's probably gonna be the first loss? Is that at Dallas?

Speaker 4 (08:05):
It's at Dallas. Yeah, that's probably gonna be the first loss.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Cowboys Broncos.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
I really want to say Broncos. Probably it's in Denver. Yeah,
that one's probably a Denver win.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah, Okay, I'll give you that Cardinals Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
That should be a win for the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (08:22):
Cowboys, and in Vegas.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
That one I think is gonna be surprising, because, yeah,
I really liked Ashton Gensy. I was hoping he was
going to be a Cowboy, but also selfishly hoping he
wouldn't be, just for some of the other particular avenues
that the Cowboys could have gone. I think Pete Carroll
originally should have been the higher a couple of years

(08:48):
ago with the Cowboys for defensive coordinator. I think Pete
Carroll is gonna bring a lot of accountability and Gino
Smith is a good, serviceable quarterback.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Now, mind you, this is the three games and ten
days stretch. Okay, so you got the Cowboys Raiders, and
then you have the Eagles Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
That's probably gonna be a loss.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
And then you turn around four days later and now
you face the Chiefs.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Yeah, that's probably gonna be a loss as well.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
And then after that lick your wounds because you got
to go up to Detroit and face the Lions.

Speaker 4 (09:20):
I don't know what the Lions are gonna be this year,
that's the thing.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I think they're gonna be. The Oklahoma City thunder this year.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
I think obviously getting the one seed and then getting
outsd by the Commanders, I think there's a lot of
redemption up in Detroit. Yeah, but not just saying it's
gonna be an eight mile walk. Yeah what I did there.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Yeah, but not having you know, Ben Johnson and then
you're tensive coordinator with Aaron Glenn. So the one thing
for them will be again like with the Cowboys, they
had a ton of injuries. Yeah, you're getting eight and
Hutchinson back healthy after the ugly I think it was
what Week six injury when he suffered against the Cowboys,

(09:59):
the broken leg, So that will obviously help. But we'll
see what type of offense they have this year without
Ben Johnson? Are they still going to do some of
the razzle dazzle you know college football Madden, NFL's gadget.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Plays sports down. They never punt.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
After that, you have the Vikings, you travel home to
face the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (10:21):
That's gonna be a win.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Okay, I'm not I'm not sold on JJ McCarthy. You know,
Andy and I have talked about the fact that he
is your uh, he is your your up. Oh my god,
the word just escaped me. But he's the guy that
all he's gonna do. You know, he's prototypical, your prototypical

(10:45):
hand it off quarterback.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Yeah, I mean he's a machine, that's all he does.
Chargers Cowboys four days before Christmas?

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Yeah, where's that one at Dallas? That could be a loss.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
And then Merry Christmas, Commanders Cowboys. So you get both
holidays here, you get Thanksgiving and you get Christmas.

Speaker 4 (11:07):
Yeah, I'm not happy about that one.

Speaker 3 (11:09):
I think they'll split with the Commanders, so they'll probably
win that one in Washington, h And I mean they
won in Washington last year.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
And then of course January fourth, you cap it off
in New York against the Giants. That's probably going to
be a win because I think the Giants will finish
dead last in the NFC East. So overall, I'm hearing
about three or four losses from you, Mike.

Speaker 4 (11:31):
Again, it all depends on health.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Always depends on how it always does, doesn't.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
It always does.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
If Tom Brady is not healthy, do you think the
Patriots win ninety five percent of the games that he
was in? No?

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Same, No, there was that one year where it's like,
what was it? His acl got like taken out from
him against.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
In Miami like Week one and Matt Castle.

Speaker 1 (11:55):
Yeah, yeah, we all know what happened.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
There, another starting quarterback for the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Okay, so you're pretty confident. I'm gonna check back in
with you throughout.

Speaker 4 (12:04):
The season, though, We'll see what happens.

Speaker 1 (12:06):
I always like to text you when they're losing. Now
you do it to me all the time.

Speaker 4 (12:09):
Yeah, it happens a lot, especially with your Saints.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Just don't even get me started out. But they don't
want to watch the Saints.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
They at least addressed a lot of the positions that
they needed.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
You know, you got running back.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
Granted it was a little later than I was assuming
because they had the potential to get Amarion Hampton. Yeah,
but they did get Jaden Blue from Texas. The only
concern I have about Jaden Blue in his career at
Texas is he had a fumbling issue. True, that was
a big thing. That's kind of why he got overtaken
by Quintravian Weisner. Obviously with the injury to C. J.

(12:46):
Baxter as well. But Jaden Blue, you want to talk
about speed, like lightning, McLean, he is speed. So he
is fast. He's definitely a home run hitter. You addressed
offensive line to possibly replace Zach Martin retiring. You got
another quarterback corner, uh Chevon Ravel, who I believe was

(13:08):
probably gonna be one of the more one of the
most underrated and sleeper picks this year because originally before
he got injured. At this point, I don't know how
much credibility he has, but he was mel Kiper's best
rated corner going into last season. And then you got
a couple of defensive guys to replace DeMarcus Lawrence. So

(13:30):
you got your wide receiver in the in the trade
with George Pickens. So again, obviously everything depends on health
and if injuries happened, and injuries are gonna happen, but
the amount of injuries that happened to the Cowboys were
just ridiculous, Like how it was for the Detroit Lions.
It just seemed like every week it was one of

(13:53):
their one of their key guys, was going down.

Speaker 4 (13:54):
But that's no excuse.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
Very true, very true.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
So coming up next, I want to get back into
the NBA playoffs and how critical is tonight's Game four
in Indiana. That's all next on the Andy Everage Show
on Ticket seven sixty
