of the Indie Everage Show. And here we are back
with you once again for the Indy Average Show on
this Tuesday afternoon. We had some great basketball last night
in the NBA. We'll be touching up on that in
a little bit. Lots of basketball talk today, some more

(00:44):
NFL draft and NFL news to get to as well,
and Pete Rose has cropped back into the conversation a
few months after his passing. All of those part of
the docket today. Our audio disseminators today are Ty su
Chick Run and the Controls. Mike Bartler was in here
a second ago, but something happened and he had to leave,
so he'll be back here in a second. He's the

(01:05):
producer of the show. We'll figure out what's going on
with him in just a little bit. The forty nine
Ers have announced that George Kittles has signed a four
year contract extension. There's a discussion about the All Star
Game next year for the NBA. For something that is
as meaningless as an All Star game, there is more

(01:25):
talk about the All Star Game every week. It seems
like on what are we going to do to fix it? Well,
we're going to talk about all the things that we
have to have to fix before. However, I talk about
the Warriors win last night, which was really really important
if you're a Warriors fan and they're not three to
one and they've got the rockets on the brink of elimination.

(01:46):
Just I want to remind everybody that Alpern Shirgushan Goon
could have been a Spur.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
He was he was picked.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
He was picked after the Spurs pick Josh Primo about
four years ago.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Don't remind so it's still too soon, man. I think
he went like two or three I would say three,
four picks later.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Yeah, I would have loved.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
To have had him.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Well, he would have had a logjam at small forward.
But I guess that's a good problem to have because
Josh Primo is nowhere.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
To be found.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Well, No, Shingun's power forward. Yeah, he's a four or five, four, fourth, fourth, three, four.
I think he's four.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
If he can dribble the basketball, you're not a three,
not that good of a three, You're you're more of
a not that much of a four, You're more of
a three.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Nicole Yogics can dribble the basketball.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
That's because well that's they teach that at like age
four over there, how to dribble. That's why their players
are more fundamentally sound than American.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
He's not fundamentally sound. He's all right, He's a good player,
all right, Buddy Healed showed up last night. Jimmy Butler
showed up last night.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Uh, Steph Curry was Steph Curry again, although not as
many points as he normally would throw in there. And
this goes back to the conversation that I had when
the play playoff rand started. I'm not sure that Houston
has the experience to know how to handle adversity in
the playoffs. They should have won Game three without Jimmy Butler.
We talked about that yesterday, and they should have won

(03:12):
Game four last night, but they just couldn't figure out
a way to get things. They had a really good
spurt at the end of the second quarter they go
up seven, and the Warriors start the third quarter.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
On a fifteen to one run.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
And even though the Rockets came back at time to
take the lead, I never felt like Golden State was
out of that matchup. And Draymond Green was painting everybody's
rear end as he normally is. But then he stepped
up and played stellar defense on the last play of
the game for the Warriors to get the win.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Did he or was it really a foul that should
have been called? That was not a foul hits.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Him on the arm and the other I'll say this too,
if it was not Draymond Green, the flagrant foul that
he got where they were the ball was loose and
they're rolling around on top of each other and his
leg comes back and hits the back of whoever it
was for.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
For Houston, that was just that was part of the scrum.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
But when they saw foot to head as they were
scrub it wasn't like he kicked the guy. It was
just your head gotten the way of my foot or
my foot gotten.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
The way of your head. Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
If it wasn't Draymond Green, that would not have been
a flagrant foul.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
This is Andy trying.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
This is Andy's best way of trying to be a
lawyer to the thin Draymond Green.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
He also grabs his jersey off the jersey tries to
pull up. Well, that was that was a different play.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
It's Draymond Green.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
I don't care who that is, even if that's Kelden
Johnson or Jeremy so Hand.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
It deserved what it deserved. Well it would have.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
It would have been looked at more times than it will. Oh,
that's Raymond Green. Certainly. Sure he tried to kick him
in the head. He was probably lucky he didn't get
teed up and tossed because that would have been his
second technical foul.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I just found it hilarious that I think it was
what in the in the second quarter, he had three fouls,
a flagrant foul and a technical foul. I'm just like
that he still was in the game and he may
still able to survive the game. And if they would
have tossed them out, you would have had all of
these You know hulable laws, Oh how dare they toss

(05:09):
him out?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
He you know, the referees are trying to upstage the game.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
He's trying to have a pleasant conversation with somebody saying
he was sorry for something in the first half, and
then men Thompson comes in there and tries to get
in the way of it, and he's like, this is
a private conversation. Go away, And then the referees had
to get in there and straighten all that out. We'll
talk more about that in a second. What's going to
happen to the Rockets, the Heat, the Grizzlies, and more importantly,

(05:35):
the Milwaukee Bucks when and if these guys lose their series? Though, well,
obviously the Heat and the Grizzlies have already lost. They
just need to go back to the drawing board and
figure out who they're going to draft. And I think
both of those teams have some opportunities for the future,
but they've got to get some culture in Memphis, and
the Heat need another player or two. The Rockets, I
think have really good experience, but I don't think there's

(05:57):
any way the Milwaukee Bucks can get back to where
they want to be without blowing the team up and
starting over, and that includes a trading Giannis. And before
I talked about this, I think last Thursday when this
first came out. If the Bucks lose to you trade Jannus,
the answer is absolutely yes.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
They are in salary cap. Hell, they have no draft picks.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
They have but if you look at their roster, it's Dame,
it's Janie and aging Brook Lopez, Uh, Kuzmo, who I've
always thought was majorly overrated, Bobby Bobby Portas is okay,
and it only makes twelve million a year, so that's
not a big deal. And Pat Connie the rest of
the team's us. The rest of the team's awful. Uh,

(06:39):
And and Dame's not going to play until the All
Star break next year, if even then. So, uh, you've
got a You've got a group of players you got
to you got to start over from the beginning. You
need to get whatever a number of players you can
get to match forty eight million or fifty one million
for for Yannis in the in a trade, and then

(06:59):
that the team that's also dumping those players has to
give you multiple draft picks. Now, I'll go into some
strategy here in a little bit on what I would
do if I were in Milwaukee when that series.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Ends, all right.

Speaker 1 (07:09):
We talked about the fall of Shedor Sanders in our
discussion yesterday after this weekend's draft, when he was in
some polls projected to go as high as third of
the Giants ended up going to Cleveland in the fifth round.
But what about Quinn Ewers. What about the fall of
Quinn Ewers as a quarterback in the draft. But I

(07:31):
know that you're not a big Dolphins fan, but I
think he's in a really good place because the only
quarterbacks ahead of him on the roster right now are
Tua and Zach Zach Wilson. Zach Wilson, who was terrible
in college and worse than the pros and I thought
was one of the more overrated draft picks we know
to It's another concussion potentially away from not playing for

(07:54):
an extended period of time, if not forever, And I
would think that quinn Ewers would find a way to
beat Out and Zach Wilson.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
So I don't think they're in a bad spot.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
And I got some details I want to throw out
on that in a little bit and kind of the history,
if you will, of Quinn yours. But how did a
guy fall from a Canton first round draft pick two
years ago to the seventh round pick draft pick to
a team that already has quarterbacks in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
You know, it's funny.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
I swear you must have been listening, because Ty and
I were having this conversation earlier, and we both kind
of agree. Obviously, injuries are are a big I would
say a big deal with it. You know, he got
injured the past two seasons, and with him being so
highly touted as a high school recruit coming out and

(08:43):
then going to Ohio State and then coming back to Texas.
By the way, Texas is the only school that has
three perfect scores when it comes to quarterbacks. But he
just never I guess, lived up from what Ty was
telling me, and I was, you know, near acknowledging it.
He didn't exceed the ex He didn't meet the expectations

(09:06):
that came with being the perfect five star quarterback going
to Texas. I would argue that even with the injuries,
he did kind of meet expectations.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
My thought is Miami got a steal if he turns
out to be as good as projected. We just haven't
this past year, the injuries prevented him from being as
good as he could be correct and even the year
before he had the injury in the Ohio State game
and I think it was whatever game it was early
in it was a Bama, Yeah game. Yeah, he got
hurt in the Bama game. And then so he's had

(09:41):
some injuries. If he can stay healthy, that's going to
be key as well. But the may might not be
the next Tom Brady, but hey, you could be the
next Brock Party.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
I think size is a big thing as well. But
if you want to say that, he's to think size
is overrated. Yeah, we talked about it yesterday.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Six two six four, I mean roll out two feet
and you can see where you're throwing it.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Your quintessential ideal quarterback, you would probably want to be
six three six four ish.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
I mean two is only six'. One so BUT i
agree with.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
YOU i think he's in an ideal spot because there
are plenty of weapons around.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Him a Laf Brock. Party talk about a little. BIT
