Speaker 1 (00:04):
I am your standby fill in substitute backup quarterback for
the Cleveland Browns Dylan Emery. As we get you into
your Thursday with your drive home on Wednesday. I know
we're getting you into Thursday because a lot of people
that get off of work are like, oh, thank god,
Wednesday's over. True, you know what I mean. I've been
thinking it's Tuesday all day today.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Or they could be listening to the podcast on the
free iHeartRadio app where you know you can do play sets,
plug and all that kind of stuff. You can listen
to us anywhere. Nice, whether you want to listen to
us live or in the future.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Yeah, so there you go.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
So future technically, they could be listening to us on Thursday.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Yeah, let's really trip them out. Yeah, if you're listening
to me in the future, Hello, yeah it's Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Man.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Did you get any rain last night? I did a lot.
I don't know, peaceful or did it wake you up? Well?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
I mean, you know, for me, when I am, I
have insomnia, but once i'm out, I'm out through. So uh,
while I was awake, I heard and saw it, but
after that, I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Yeah, a lot of high water stuff going on too.
It's it's much needed rain here in San Antonio, I
can tell you that much.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
Speaking of letter rate, No, I'm kidding.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Let's see, so before the breakup was telling you I
wanted to go in the NFL.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
So we should go into the NFL, shouldn't we? We should?
I kind of want to look at everything.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Obviously, when it's May, there's a lot of hopes and
I'm here to crush every one of your hopes, and
so I want to I want to start with probably
the worst division this year.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Real quick though, just to be funny, technically it is
tomorrow for some people, because okay, we do have listeners
in the Autralia, Yeah we do, we do. Okay, power
the power of the iHeartRadio apps.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yep, yep, yep.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
So speaking of the power of the iHeart rate, do
we have anybody in Arizona or Los Angeles, San Francisco
or Seattle?
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Uh, stall for time.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Because That's where I'm starting. I'm going to start with
the nf see West. Now, I have to ask this,
is there anybody that's gonna make it out out of
the NFC West that's going to be legit or is
this just gonna be a dogfight, because I don't think
the San Francisco forty nine ers are who they used
to be, and I think that Rock Party has robbed
the bank for them and so they just are who
(02:17):
they are.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
I don't see anything for the forty nine ers.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
I know that there's a lot of forty nine er
fans out there right now that are probably going to
drive into the curb and please don't but understand that dude,
you had your shot. They had legitimately had their shot,
but we all know that their kryptonite was called the
Kansas City Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
You are upsetting a lot of our California and Arizona listeners.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
By the way, Well I'm here to appease the Arizona
listeners here in a second now, just giving them the
hard true.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Now, the Seattle Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
What are we doing? What are we doing? The Seattle
Seahawks used to be scary. They used to be home
of the twelve man boom Man, Legion of boom. Now
they're the legion of doom. Like, I don't know what
to expect from the Seattle Seahawks. I know a lot
of people say, oh, we're going to be great. No
tell me where they're going to be great.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Sam Donald Tyreek Wolan, Sam Donald u tsa alum.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Okay, but Sam Donald is your leader.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
That's who you got because you're excited because he got
lucky in Minnesota last year.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Yeah that guy, Yeah, forget it.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
And then they also got rid of their number one
and number two receivers with DK Metcalf shipping him out
the pitt.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
Why did you get rid of him?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
And then you want to talk about an ownership that says, hey,
we're going to rebuild. Yeah, let's do it. You know,
Los Angeles Rams, What do you think? I think that's
the day if they can stay healthy. Now, we saw
what happened last year. Man, they spent a lot of
money for their Super Bowl, didn't they They did.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
But but to their defense, their scouting department has done
a very good job of hitting on draft picks.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Okay, So that's.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Where that's where you can take the Hey, they spent
a lot of money, but they're ass so panning out
right now and hitting on all their draft picks. But
in three years, it's going to be a San Francisco
forty nine er situation to where it's man, we're paying
a forty year old Matthew Stafford and now we've got
to pay our twenty four year old stud edge Rusher
(04:16):
or something like that. So it's like one of these
one of.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
These things is gonna have to go. So you're telling
me that the Arizona Cardinals. Here you go, Arizona fans,
they're gonna win the West, not the NFC West.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Now, who do you have winning the NFC West?
Speaker 2 (04:28):
The Rams?
Speaker 3 (04:29):
Really? I do?
Speaker 1 (04:30):
I think it comes down between the Cardinals and the Rams.
I think the forty nine ers at Seahawks finished below
five hundred, and I think the Cardinals and Rams have
a shot at winning the West.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
I just and this isn't a knock on your guy,
Kyler Murray. I think here we go. I think we've
just seen enough. We've seen enough of Kyler Murray, don't
get me wrong. Tremendously athletic, okay, but can't do anything else.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
I mean, granted, they did give him a weapon with
Marvin Harrison junior, okay, but outside of that, I couldn't
tell you anybody else who's on that team.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
So so six wins six okay, maybe over under six Okay.
The next worst division, the NFC South look, let me
be real about the Saints ain't happening.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Maybe two wins this year, maybe maybe.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Carson Beck gonna be your franchise quarterback.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
I mean, we can wrap up the NFC South like this.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
The Saints will finish third, the Carolina Panthers will finish fourth,
the Falcons second, and the Bucks first. Baker Mayfield the guy,
the Tampa Bakers, Dude, I think this year we're gonna
see a Baker Mayfield MVP.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
And like actual NS or MVP MVP, like MVP style
this year, no MVP style, maybe even possibly the MVP.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
He's he's got a lot of power and he's got
a lot of weapons out there in Tampa Bay. Tampa
Bay is gonna run it. They're gonna run the NFC South.
And I hate saying that because again, who that right?
But let me be real. The Saints ain't doing anything
for a while. You know, can can Kellimore do something?
I have no idea. I don't know what he did
(06:13):
during the draft, to be honest with you, I'm like, okay,
whatever to bring the Tush push to New Orleans, now,
come on, man, they can't speaking of Tush push NFC North, right,
I know, it's the NFC, says Tush, push calm down.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
NFC North.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
You've got the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers,
Minnesota Vikings. This one's just an ugly division as well.
I think Detroit comes out in the North. Now, you
were saying yesterday, Mike that you didn't think. You don't
know what they're gonna do. We don't know what they're
gonna do. I like Detroit because I feel like there's
a redemption thing going on. I think they have to
make up for what happened last year with them. The
Chicago Bears obviously Caleb Williams saying he didn't really want
(06:52):
to play there, but now he does want to play there.
Blah blah blah blah. The drama that unfolds there. He
doesn't really want to be a Bear. We'll see how
many times he gets sacked. I think he led the way.
Or was it him or caes Shild that got sacked
the most less year?
Speaker 3 (07:04):
It was cj. Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
Then you've got the Packers, which you know, Okay, maybe
Lafleur can maybe do something there. I have no idea,
but I still don't see the Packers being anything. The
Minnesota Vikings. We'll see what happens. Lucky they playing a dome.
It's all depending on JJ McCarthy. Ow, well he hands
the ball off.
Speaker 3 (07:25):
Yeah, so out of there.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Give me Detroit, right, and I think Minnesota finish his second,
Green Bay finished his third. In Chicago. Well, sorry, there's
finished fourth in that division NFC East. I don't like
any of these teams, the Cowboys, the Giants, the Eagles,
the Commanders. Now, the Commander's surprised everybody. The Commanders made
it to the NFC Championship Game last year. Not only that,
(07:48):
the Commanders knocked off the Detroit Lions in Detroit. So
don't we say that there's the tail of the tape
now in the second year of these Commanders because it
is a new look team. Now, the Commanders had a
couple of games last year that were lucky. You know,
we'll see. Now Philadelphia says, hey, we're the Super Bowl champs, Like,
you gotta beat us, you got to finish you know,
(08:11):
this tush push and everything else that's gonna happen. Obviously,
teams need to figure it out. You know, whatever works works,
and that's what Philly does, is they're gonna you know,
do what they need to do. The Giants, I think
we're still rebuilding, you know. I'm I'm curious to see Dart.
I'm really curious to see what comes out of that,
you know. And of course let's not forget we have
(08:33):
Russell Wilson there, yes, and then we also have Jameis
Winston there.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Yes. So it's so funny to.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Me that we all talk about the Cleveland quarterback controversy.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
What about in New York. I think it's a mess.
I don't know what necessarily think it's a mess, because
it is. They are only one year deals, true, and
I do have a feeling that more than likely Jameis
Winston is probably not going to be on that roster
come opening day?
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Can he come back to New Orleans? I would take him,
I'll be honest with you. I would take Winston in
a heartbeat.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
He could. Now the last team.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Of course before we go to break the Dallas Cowboys,
Your Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Cowboys, this is our year.
Every fan tells me every year, this is gonna be
our year. I don't know, because here's the problem. Dallas
Cowboy fans, all of a sudden, the Washington Commanders, who
you used to laugh at, are now better than you.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Yeah, they are the legit.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I would put them number two right now in the
NFC East, and I would put Philly in number one.
Of course, give me the Cowboys at number three and
the Giants at four. Now, that doesn't put your Dallas
Cowboys in the playoffs at all if we were to
playoff strength strength of a team. Right, So, I honestly
think that this year the Commanders win the NFC East.
(09:52):
I think for Philly they're gonna struggle because everybody's gonna
bring their a game against Philly. They're gonna try to
do everything to stop. Philly's gonna have a test, you know,
and their head coach Will I don't know how many times.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
He'll probably get ejected.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Right, I have no idea, but everybody's got to figure
out Barkley two, right, because he had a phenomenal year
last year, breakout year, you know, running his life and
just wonning that championship. And he got that championship. Yeah,
So I like Washington in the NFC East, and then
I follow that with the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys
(10:27):
and then the New York Giants. Is that far fetched.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
No, I don't think so, because history right now, at
least for the NFC East, would be on your side.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
I might.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
For the last what twenty something years, there has never
been a repeat winner for the NFC East.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
And then I want to tell you that out of
the NFC East before we go to break or out
of the NFC in general, when we get to the playoffs,
it's going to come down to the Detroit Lions and
Washington Commanders.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
By the way, if I'm not mistaken, another another thing
that could hinder the Philadelphia Eagles, along with the potential Super.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
Bowl hang over.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
If I've read correctly, guess who's going to be on
the cover of this year's Madden No, boy, I'm just saying,
people don't think it's real. Who the Jinx is real?
Saquon Barkley.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
It is real Christian McCaffrey last year, right, And that's
why I'm picking the Commanders and Lions to go to
the NFC Championship Game. But give me the Detroit Lions
to go to the Super Bowl. So that's my NFC side.
Coming up next, we'll break down the AFC side. That's
all next on the Andy Ever Show on Ticket seven
