and not just any other Thursday. This is the Thursday
before the Masters Wednesday. Andy, wait a hue, tomorrow's Thursday.
Here we go on a Wednesday, not any other Wednesday.
(00:44):
It is the Wednesday before the Masters. There we go,
let's get that straight. We're ready to roll into the
next three hours and discuss all things Masters. You can stretch,
you can scratch etchevaria, and spawn off of your picks.
Because they won the Part three contest, they're going to
win it. I think that's somebody really does something crazy
(01:04):
with a few that are still playing. And so the
winners of the Part three contest never win the tournament,
so we'll scratch those from any.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Of our lists.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
We'll Top Masters a little bit later. Our Masters picks
coming up in a little bit as well, and all
of the things that we can get to we also have.
The Lakers are playing the Dallas Mavericks tonight is the
return of Luca. I am surprised that the Mavericks as
an organization are having T shirts made in honor of
(01:35):
Luca after they made what most consider the worst trade
in the history of the NBA.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Well, I think the pr team probably was like, Hey,
we realize y'all screwed up, but we have to do
something because if we don't, we're gonna look even more
petty and worse than you know.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
Well, I bet you there's a ton of Luca jerseys
in the arena tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Of course, And it's not hit. It's not his fault
to a certain extent, regardless of the smear campaign that
you know, Nico Harrison and the and the MAVs organization
is still trying to you know, throw out there. But
instead what I would do is I would I would
take fire Nico T shirts instead.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Well, I don't think the Mavericks are going to pass
those out. We had a bad play last night in
the NBA. It was Memphis and Charlotte and Memphis. Jalen
Wells went in for a doug and got undercut by
kJ Simpson and I think he just kind of inadvertently
ran out of room and ran under him. I don't
think it was an intentional deal, but it did get
him an injection with a flagrant too foul. So we'll
(02:42):
talk about that coming up in a bit. We've got
more fallout from the Mike Malone firing yesterday. Steve Kerr's
going to weigh in on his thoughts on that. And
when you hear him speak, it's not unlike hearing you
ever watched these shows, Like Michael Francis is a ex
mafia guy that is a speaker now and he always
(03:05):
talks about He always talks about in this life, you
ended up in jailor dead. Well, Steve Kerr was not
that ominous, but it's pretty much he was saying, you're
either going to end up unemployed or yeah, you're fired
at some point, no matter what may. You may survive
the firing and get another job, but you're always going
to get fired. And we're all all in this together.
(03:27):
So we'll talk about that coming up in a little bit.
The NFL Draft is now two weeks away, in a day,
two weeks from tomorrow, the draft is here and ready
to go again. And it's not considered that Star's spectacle
spectacular draft. But we do have to figure out where
cam Ward's going, and where Shduor Sanders is going, and
where Travis Hunter is going to end up. And there's
(03:49):
a lot of teams that are jocking for all kinds
of positions to be able to do that. We're going
to talk about the first five picks coming up in
a little bit, and it seems like it's cam Ward
right now that's gonna go to Tennessee, but everything else
is up up for grabs. How good is shoud Or Sanders?
Is he a top five pick or is he a
first round pick? Further down, what do you do with
(04:09):
Travis Hunter? What do you do with Abdulla Carter? Do
you go defense? Do you go offense? If you don't
really like who you're where's your weakness? And I think
there's a lot of things that are gonna happen, and
I don't really know that anybody is playing their cards
openly right now. It is all one big CIA secret.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah. I think obviously we pretty much know that cam Ward,
like you mentioned, is going to go number one, and
if Tennessee doesn't do anything besides that, then at that point,
you know, you just kind of do like a bracket
and you just crumble up the paper and you're like,
all right, well, it's it's a free for all now.
But I really think the the wrench that could get
(04:54):
tossed into this is at number two with Cleveland, because
Cleveland can either go should or they can go Abduall Carter,
or you know, they could Cleveland well and go Ashton genty.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
It was explained today, and I think this is something
that first of all, the owner in Cleveland has said,
we swung and missed with signing to Sean Watson. Well,
I could have told well, because you don't have a choice,
you can't just cut him. It's too much dead cap weight.
But they, I god have told him they were going
to swing and miss when they did it. But Cleveland
(05:27):
fans not only want to see something from their ownership
that makes them feel like they know what they're doing,
whether they do or not. And secondly, they want somebody
that is worth going to watch, and so even if
your team is bad, if you've got a star player
that you enjoy watching. I don't think they need Abduall
Carter because they have Miles Garrett, and I don't necessarily
(05:49):
think you need two edge rushers on a team. I
think one's enough. You could have one in one a
And while Abduall Carter would certainly be the lesser of
the experienced players, in five years, you're gonna have one
aging out and one at the in the prime of
his career. So maybe you'd think of it that way,
But I think there's other needs and defensive end, and
typically when you're trying to sell tickets and you're trying
(06:11):
to sell fan support, you go offense over defense. So
we'll talk more about that coming up in a bit.
All Right, Michael and I have different opinions on the
Luka Doncic situation from last night. He got teed up
in the first half and then later in the game
he was bad mathing a fan. The official thought it
was in his direction, so he sent him to the showers.
(06:33):
You think he deserved it.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
I do, And you know, the one criticism that I
have of Luka doncic Is, and it's well known he
complains way too much, way too much, and after a while,
you know.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
But the second one was not directed at the ref.
It was that a fan who has shown back and
forth with them the whole game.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
I understand that, but that's that referee does not know
that because he's looking in his direction, and if you
look at the video from the.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Back angle, he couldn't tell. You couldn't tell who he
was talking to.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Me exactly, so it looks like he's talking to that guy.
I would say, if you don't want to be in
that situation, don't get the first tech.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
Well, I've got some different thoughts on that. We'll talk
about that coming up in the next segment. We'll talk.
As I said, well hears from Steve Kerr on his
thoughts on coaching in general, basically in the NBA and
the volatility of it. Also his thoughts not necessarily directly
because he didn't want to get into the business of Denver.
He's got his own problems to worry about as well.
(07:36):
John Morant may be in trouble again for another brandishing
of weapons thing, although it's not guns this time, and
something else we'll tell you about that. I mentioned yesterday
that the Pittsburgh Pirates or like maybe it was Monday,
Pittsburgh Pirates took off the twenty one Clemente sign in
right field and replace it with an advertisement. And the
(07:58):
first thing that fans noticed when they went to PNC
Park this year was that the Clemente sign in right
field was no longer there, and the organization said it
was an oversight, please excuse us for this honest mistake.
I'm not buying that it was an honest mistake and
it was an oversight. I think it was intentionally done
to see if there would be a reaction, and when
(08:19):
there was, ownership cave and said, okay, we'll put it
back and we'll move the advertisement someplace else. They did
something else this year that fans in Pittsburgh are complaining about,
as the fans in Pittsburgh should, because it's again another
example of an ownership group and a leadership and a
culture that it's not about winning. It may be about
(08:41):
making a profit every year, it may be making about
making an extraordinarily greater than normal profit, but it's all
about greed from the Pittsburgh Pirates, and that's why their
team is probably going to finish and way out of
the pack in the standings once again and not be
a relevant playoff team. We'll give you all the details
on that coming up in a little bit. The Spurs
(09:03):
lost last night in the NBA. They play at Golden
State tonight. Correct, Yes, it's back to back tonight, So
they got they got that, and so Spurs are basically
playing out the string here. They've got this game, and
I know they're home on Tuesday. Where's my schedule?
Speaker 2 (09:20):
They played tonight, they play, and then they play Friday Friday.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Friday against the Suns, and then they come home for
the Raptors. I have a problem with the NBA on this. Okay,
at what point in time did somebody in the NBA
think it was a good idea to have two teams
that are not in the playoffs to play a Sunday
afternoon game opposite the Masters. Well, if I'm the Spurs,
(09:48):
I'd move this game to six o'clock at night. And okay,
people are, well, it's a meaningless game. Let's get it
over then play it at eleven in the morning. I
don't care when you play it, but you're not wanting
to play it on Sunday afternoon, on Master Sunday, that
nobody cares we're watching the Masters.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
I mean, you make a valid point. You do make
a valid point, you know if anything like how you say,
golf knows to stay and it knows its place. Hey,
we're gonna make sure we're at certain times when we're not,
you know, overstepping on other things. Of all things, this
would be the one time, you know, I'm actually really
surprised that that game has not been the time has
(10:26):
not been moved.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
So play it at noon. You can get it over
it by two and the leaders are just getting rid
of to tee off.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
There you go.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Maybe you get home in time to watch the last
nine holes of it. Anyway, that's that was I don't
think the NBA should ever play on Master Sunday. If
if the end of the season starts on Master Sunday
and you're not playing a Sunday evening game, play them
on Saturday. This loaded up. I mean, you obviously want
to watch the Masters on Saturday. I guess you can
go to the arena and watch the Masters on TV
(10:54):
while you're watching the Spurs in person. You can, Yeah,
because I'm playing golf on Saturday, and my will be
fully charged when I get to the golf course so
I can watch the Masters in between shots.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
Hey, you never know, maybe with Project Marvel, one of
the one of the new features in the arena might
be like a little little.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
TV and TV changed channels during the game, catch the
other game exactly. Absolutely all right, let's talk about the
fact that Luka Dacht's got thrown out of the game
when he shouldn't have been last night. Uh and uh
chirping with fans and officials not paying attention to what's
what's going on. Uh, let's let's get into all of that.
Coming up, it's the Andy Everage show on the ticket
