Speaker 1 (00:04):
We have some Micah Jerry Dallas Cowboys discussion to finish
off the show with Brian Schottenheimer. Today, was asked about
his confidence level if Michael will be on the field
when they take on the Eagles, and he was somewhat positive.
Then he was asked what about if he will he
have a new contract or not, and he was also
(00:27):
positive with a wink. So I told you this was
gonna get done. This is Jerry just manipulating the situation
and milking it for whatever he can do.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Of course. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
The other hints is that I guess Michael Parson's brother,
Terrence posted on his social media about how his brother
wanted to be back out there with his teammates and
how he didn't want to leave Dallas. I just equate
this to this is why Jerry is playing like five
(00:59):
thousand mentional chess and we're all just sitting here playing
checkers and take tacte.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Well, I don't know what game Jerry's playing, but it's
definitely a game and a lot of times I'm not
gonna stereotype every salesperson, but there's a lot of salespeople
and Jerry is definitely in that boat that want to
play games. They enjoy the chase, they enjoy the negotiation,
They enjoy asking you for way more than they know
(01:25):
they're gonna get, hoping that they do. It's it's amazing
how they they love the thrill and excitement of the sale.
And this is a selling process that Jerry and Micah
are a part of right now. And that's one hundred
percent of what's going on.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
Do you think that Jerry ever does like the notion
of how like I talk about with with like Kendrick
Perkins to where when Jerry wakes up and rolls out
of bed, he grabs like a dart or something and
then just throws it at the wall with the of
like little post it notes and he's like, all right,
let's see what am I going to do today, throws
it and he's like, but I and it says the
most ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Thing, you know, and he's like, all right, that I
wouldn't gonna commit you today, but I wouldn't put this
past him. He wakes out of bed about a bet
at four point thirty in the morning because he can't sleep,
and he walks in the office and checks his stock
portfolio and goes, yeah, I can pay Mica today. Yeah, no,
I can't do it today. I gotta wait till tomorrow.
(02:29):
I'm waiting for the proper deal before I pull those
funds out. Yeah, I believe he's I don't think Jerry
does anything during the day that's not planned. Did you
ever see Hunt for Red October parts of it? Well, basically,
the Soviets have back in the Soviet Union days, have
a a submarine that you can't hear because it's got
(02:50):
a caterpillar drive and it's operates silent, so that the
Americans are trying to find it and steal it and
see if they can get secrets from it.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
And so Uh. Fred Thompson is the actor. Uh and Uh.
Alec Baldwin is Jack Ryan who's gonna help them save
the day. And he says, uh, let me tell you.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Fred Thompson says, let me tell you something, son. The
Russians don't take a jump without a plan. Jerry doesn't
do anything without a plan. Yeah, Jerry is is way
above that level. Everything he does is is with a plan.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
I don't doubt it. I don't doubt it. And again,
that's why I keep reiterating, is I love Micah and
and and again, I know he is trying to do
the you know, to where players have more power and
control over everything. But dude, it's Jerry, Jerry. He is
your guy. You're you're Jerry's guy, along with everybody else
(03:52):
that has been a cowboy, that is a high profile player.
You know. I've asked Shane this earlier. It is like,
when is Jerry not paid one of his stars?
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Shane? What was the answer you gave me?
Speaker 3 (04:04):
He never paid.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
He never not pays his stars, exactly, never.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Not Jerry always. You want to say, caves whatever Jerry
always takes.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
It's part of the plan. It's already been determined. He's
got a date in mind. It's when he's gonna do this.
He is, He's one hundred percent on board with that plan.
He's going to execute that plan, and it's going to
happen on his timeline.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
You know what, Here's I just realized that this is
probably what the negotiation issue is is Jerry Micah is
probably trying to educate Jerry in his whole podcasting stuff.
That's what it is. He's probably like Jerry. When I
retire as a cowboy, I want to make sure that
I'm like the the number one podcasting genius in the world.
(04:48):
And he's like, Micah, I don't know what the hell
that is. You have to explain it to me, because again,
Jerry has his finger in the pie everywhere. And I
love Jason Witten, but for God's sakes, Jason Witten was
terrible on TV. If Jason Witten can be on TV
to do Monday Night football, Jerry can make that happen.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Jerry can make anything happen. He's Jerry.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, instead of even calling Dallas, let's just call Dallas Jerry.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
But there's gonna be another negotiation process for the next
player that needs to be under contract whenever that time
comes next year, the year after that. I don't know
who's next on the pecking order to get paid.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Deron Bland, but I think those conversations are already being
already happy.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Yeah, but that's not a big contract.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
That's not that's not big, but it is significant. I mean,
he's history. He's the NFL record holder for most picked
six in a season. Come on, now, well, that's why
you sound like his agent.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
No, I'm just giving him facts, right.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Change it's facts, yes, but it's you're going to bring
that up and the you know, Doron Bland was I don't.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Know, Den was one of the one of the Yeah,
like that the defense sucked last year because he was hurt.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
He didn't come he didn't he didn't come.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Back from last year until I think it was what
like week nine or ten some more along the lines
again because the defense was ridiculously injured.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
But we'll find out again.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
I'm gonna go.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
I'm telling you it's it's uh six, It's no, it's
gonna be the day before they fly, before they get
on the plane to Philadelphia, That's.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
What it's gonna it's gonna be six fifty now, it's
gonna be what local time, it's gonna be seven fourteen
fifty nine seconds right before they kick off, and they're
gonna be well, breaking news. Mike Parson has just agreed.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
As he's walking out of the lost walking out of
the locker room, exactly, sign right here, exactly.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
That's what again.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Jerry's playing five hundred dimensional chess. We're just twiddling.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Arthur pawns in the game of life.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Andrews soll I know that was our guest today, Spurs
