you by Modernistic One. West Michigan senior just wrapped up
her high school career. But the impact that she left behind,
that is the part that everybody is talking about. Today's

Awesome Sauce is all about grit, heart and a girl
who led both on and off the court at Jennison
High School. Senior Kris Chatfield has been a force since
the moment she put on that Wildcat's jersey. Four years
every rotation, more than fifteen hundred career digs and fifteen
hundred kills. That is the kind of stat line that

puts your name in the rafters. And this year, all
that hard work was recognized statewide when Caris was named
a Miss Volleyball finalist, one of the top honors in Michigan.
She ultimately didn't take home the title, but honestly, her coaches, teammates,
and community say that she has been a champion for years.

Caris fell in love with volleyball in the fourth grade
at summer camp and she never let go. She said
being chosen as a finalist felt unreal. Over the moon
is how she described it, because it meant every rep,
every practice, and every early morning had come full circle.
Her senior season ended in the district finals. She says
it was unforgettable, was a team that pushed each other

every single day, and an atmosphere she'll never forget. And
her coach Turan says, coaching her wasn't just coaching an athlete,
it was coaching an amazing human being. Aw love to
hear that hardworking, compassionate, of fierce competitor who lifts everyone

Nelson says Caris welcomed her in, pushed her and help
her become the athlete she is today. So now Caris
is headed to East Tennessee State University to play Division
one volleyball. Coract well done, carisining a program that just
won their conference. Her next chapter is just beginning, but
the legacy that she leaves behind at Jennison High School
