Douglas County's own Barb Tachi was having a perfectly normal
morning at work spreadsheets engineers, the usual humdrum, when suddenly
four Victorian clad carollers sash shade into her office, singing
directly to her. Not a meeting, not a memo, a
full blown a cappella ambush. Did you see these videos outline? No,

Barb immediately knew who was behind it, her son, Kurt.
Kurt Kurt is a professional internet goofball and longtime connoisseur
of messing with his mom. He is the same man
who once wore or an inflatable cow costume to coordinate
with the family photos. So yep, resume checks out. Change
our bios to professional Internet Goofbob Right. This year, Kurt

wanted to give Christmas a little bit something extra, so
he hired the Yule Tide carollers, who are normally booked
for fancy events, to perform exclusively for one VIP, his mom, Barb,
and boy did they deliver. They were hers for the
entire day. She had taken the afternoon off to make

Italian meatballs for Christmas Eve and simply said okay then
and what about her business while the live musical accompaniment
trailed behind her like the world's most festive personal soundtrack.
At the coffee shop, they belted out jingle bells and
then respectfully pivoted to a whispersoft, silent night so the
barista could hear her order. At the grocery store, they
performed Root Off the Red Nose Reindeer down the aisles

while Barb compared prices, and back home they serenaded her
with joy to the world while she rolled those meatballs.
And it didn't end until five o'clock. Carollers all day long, weird, wonderful,
exactly the kind of joyful shenanigans the Holidays are made for.
I love that, Barb says. She will remember it forever,

that's for sure. Yeah, that's what you gotta do. You
gotta do things that make your memorable right exactly, And
that is today's takeaway. Joy comes from the people who
know how to love us in the exact language our
hearts speak, even when that language is a four part
Victorian harmony telling you to go a little bit faster
