Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is awesome B ninety three Awesome Sauce. Start your
day on a positive note. Awesome Sauce six to ten
weekday mornings with the B ninety three Morning Show, brought
to you by Modernistic. Today's Awesome Sauce proof that humanity
shines brightest in the most unexpected moments. And that's kind
of why we started doing Awesome Sauce is because you know,
(00:22):
at least once a day we should see or hear
a reminder that the world is still good, especially these days.
During comedian Drew Lynch's show in Spokane last weekend, the
room went silent when a man in the audience suddenly
collapsed from a heart attack. For more than five minutes,
he had no pulse, but what happened next was nothing
(00:45):
short of remarkable. Strangers in the audience immediately jumped into action,
some taking turns to perform CPR, others clearing space for paramedics,
and others monitoring his vitals. I mean, these are people
that can even figure out the line into the comedy club.
But somehow, in a moment of despair, everything just worked seamlessly,
(01:07):
and Drew later wrote that in that moment, there were
no egos, no identities, no division. There was just one goal,
and it was saving a life against all odds. With
the combined efforts of total strangers, the man was revived
right there in that room. And of course now Drew
has the hardest job because he's got to get back
(01:28):
on stage after all of that. He was a little
bit shaken, but I feel like he recovered. Well, listen
to this. That was incredible, dude. I know we're you're
making joke just about the town, but you guys all
really just came together in a really cool way. Dude.
You saved that guy's life. Man, I mean that was crazy.
You guys like work together so fast. I mean to
(01:51):
just witness that. I mean, I have literally the hardest
job in the world now, and that's mostly what this
is about. He was a little bit shaken, he was
tearing up on stage, but he recovered, and the story
didn't end at the comedy club. The next day, he
and the other two comedians that opened for him showed
(02:12):
up at the hospital not just to check in, but
to finish the show. With the heart attack so great,
so for hours they laughed and they swapped stories and
they turned a really terrifying evening into a powerful reminder
of the healing power of community and humor. Drew summed
it up pretty perfectly. He said, comedy is needed, especially
in times when the world feels so torn apart. So
(02:35):
here is your reminder today. When people come together, miracles
can really happen, and sometimes laughter is the best medicine
of all.
