Speaker 1 (00:00):
Start your day on a positive note. Awesome sauce six
to ten weekday morning. So with the B ninety three
Morning Show. What happens when a boss decides that rest,
family and happiness matter just as much as profit. Go on.
This is something we always talk about, right, like the
thirty five hour work week. Yeah, unlimited parental leave. But
(00:23):
you know we're always here and like, well, it would
be terrible for profit. It would be terrible for revenue
that five hour in Wales, not so much in Wales. Okay,
this is a twenty nine year old CEO of a
growing marketing company called lumen Seo. He's five years in
and he made a radical decision, no more hustle culture.
(00:47):
Instead of micromanaging time and demanding constant grind, he started
experimenting with shorter work weeks. He decided on a fully
flexible thirty two hour four day work You can work
any time, you can work anywhere, just get your stuff done,
but have a life. And then he went even further. Okay,
(01:11):
this year he introduced something almost unheard of in the
corporate world, nine months of fully paid maternity and paternity leave.
What he said, it's simple working thirty quality hours is
better than fifty hours from a sleepy and unmotivated employee.
(01:32):
Some people called him naive, some people mocked him as
too woke. Here's the results. His employees are happier and healthier,
Productivity is higher. The company doubled its revenue.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Are you serious?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Doubled its revenue and doubled the workforce this year.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
That's insane.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
This is overseas. But it turns out when you treat
people like human beings and not machines, they show up
with passion and loyalty. He said. He hopes that his
model inspires other leaders to rethink work culture because family
should not be a burden and rest should not be earned.
Success should never cost you your life outside of the office.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
I need you to shout that to the people in
the back of the room.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
We've got our all staff meeting today.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Oh yeah, we'll just play this, just play this segment over. Hey, guys,
we wanted to just show you something. We've really been
working on something and just play this whole segment.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Doesn't that give you like a little bit of hope?
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yes, because it's true. There was a time and you
know this, you know, we kind of came up at
the same time. But there is a time of hustle
culture where like, oh, I'm hustling, man, I'm always grinding
the way rind never stops. But then you get like
to a certain age and you're like, well, I have
to have a life if I'm going to come in
every day. I love what we do, but to do
what we do, you have to have a life. Absolutely,
(02:51):
you have any job, you have to have rest and
you will get results.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
So today's takeaway people are not replaceable, but burnout is
take care of your team and they will take care
of the mission. Doubled revenue and doubled the workforce. That's
absolutely incredible. That's how you start your day on a
positive note. Awesome saw six ten weekday mornings with the
B ninety three Morning Show, brought to you by Modernistic
