Speaker 1 (00:00):
For a New Country b NIGHTTY three box Office opens
at seven twenty. We're going to get you in to
see Chris Stapleton at Vaniandel Arena when he is here
for a two night run in mid June, So make
sure you link up for all those details at bnety
three dot com. One of the things that I will
not give up no matter how much I budget are
(00:23):
my sweepers, which are it's this local company I've been
working with, sweep and they come and they clean my
house and they do an amazing job.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I know, I really liked.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I want to try this, like at least once a month.
I think, yes, just to like we need some deep
cleaning and certain things.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
But you were talking about it how great it is.
It's not amazing.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
I love it and I had never done it before,
and I started with them in November, and it's just
it has changed my life. I will not go back.
I will find other things I won't eat if it
means I can keep my sweepers, because it makes that
much of a difference.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
But you do something before it that really I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Fully, I didn't think this was weird, okay, and now
I'm like reevaluating everything. So that's coming up in a
few minutes. Right now, let's check the roads. BE ninety
three listener family traffic from the Big Bee Coffee at
Traffic Studio. We've got the right lane blocked in Rockford
Northland Drive at eleven mile Road. Also a crash reported
in Battle Creek. This is ninety four westbound at Columbia Ave.
(01:25):
And in Kalamazoo this one has been working for quite
some time. But West Main Street, both eastbound and westbound
between North Fletcher and North Clarendon, that right lane is
blocked because there are some power lines that are down.
So avoid that area, find a different route, and if
you see something else, give us a call and let
us know. Six one, six two four to two ninety three,
(01:45):
ninety three. You be the judge. Am I the weird one?
Because of what I do before my sweepers come and
clean my house? I want to know because if I'm
doing unnecessary stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
It doesn't feel weird.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
It feels very unnecessary, very very unnecessary.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I thought everybody does that. Well, okay, we'll find out
coming up BE ninety three. I just have a very
simple question, because Mike thinks that I am doing way
too much.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Yeah, you're paying for a service.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
I have the sweepers come or I call them my sweepers.
The name of the company is Sweep. That's who I
use locally to have my house clean. And this is
kind of a new thing for me. I wasn't sure
I was gonna like this, so I was like, you
know what, I'm just gonna try it out see if
it's for me. If it's not, no big deal, but
I absolutely love it. I will find other things in
my budget to give up before I give up my sweep.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Is this one of those things where you could like
pick a room and they'll just clean, or like you
don't have to clean your whole house, but you could
pick individual rooms And yes, I like that.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yes, So it keeps it like really budget friendly, okay,
because I can, like, if I don't have the cash
to have them do like every single room in the
house this month, I can just have them do like
just deeply in the kitchen for me, or just like
deep clean the bathroom for me, and they will they'll
and just do that. That's so great, which I love.
But we were talking about this last week because I
had my sweeper come on Thursday, I clean before they
(03:11):
get there.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
It's so funny to me, like I sort of get
it because a lot of people will brush their teeth
before they go to the dentist, right exactly. But I
would say I overdo it and do like what you
do that version of it with my teeth only because
my wife works there. If I if I'm paying for
a service, let's say I'm going to get a car
(03:33):
wash or I'm going to clean out my car whatever,
I'm not cleaning out my car or washing my car
before I take it to the car wash. Why would
I wash my house before I have them come over
to clean my house.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
I don't understand that.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
It's a good point, it's a solid point.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
What's the reason behind it? Though? Like why do you
do it?
Speaker 1 (03:52):
I just feel like if I need to get everything
out of the way, like I need to get the
dishes out of the sink, I need to get the
blankets folded and out of their way, and then I'll
do like a light surface clean because then I feel
like when they come they can do they can focus
on like the deep clean.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
You brought something up the other day and I you
breezed past it.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Why do you do the dishes. Why do you? Why
do you do the dishes before they come?
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Because uh huh, they will do that. That is like
actually one of the things. You can make a little
note and have them like put the dishes in the dishwasher.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Huh you.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
But they won't do it right. They won't load the dishwasher.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
According to you correctly.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
So then I will have to go back in and
reorganize the dishwasher because they won't do it.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
How I do it right. I think there's a there's
a terminology for that. I think it's.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Old control freezing.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
See no, And I wish I wasn't this way. I
wish I could leave the dishes in the sink and
be like, that's what I pay them for. But there's
just something in me that is like, no, I have
to make this house look like nobody lives here before
they come.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
But there, that's what they're doing. I know, that's what
you're paying them to do.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
I know, I know.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
I'm sure they love it because they don't have to
do as much work. But like DoD they Okay, so
let me ask you this. When you when you do
that and they come in, do they do extra things?
Do they do they do anything.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Different this last time?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah? Yes, oh oh they did. Oh mm hmm, okay.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Because I I yeah, so that's that's part of my
other motivation. But is this weird? Do you think this
is weird? I need someone to call and back me
up and say I am not crazy and that you
do the same thing. It doesn't necessarily have to be
with your house and getting it cleaned, but just like
something kind of the same. Because I'm feeling a little
bit like a headcase. Now. I don't think I am
(05:52):
crazy here. I actually think that this is like a
sneaky little cheat code that I have unlocked, even it
comes from deep rooted shame.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
Just trying to avoid embarrassment at all all.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Cause yes, yes, but I when I have the people
who who clean my house. I've been working with this
local company, Sweep since November. I've never had like a
service or somebody clean my house before. I didn't know
if I was gonna like it. I love it.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah, I get the service. I get I get why
you do it.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
It seems like an incredible thing, like to have somebody
come in and just deep clean your house. It saves
a bunch of time. I don't understand what you do
before the service.
Speaker 1 (06:39):
So they were coming last week on Thursday, and I
just like I told Mike, like I didn't I don't
have time to do something today because I got to
get home and I gotta clean before the sweepers get
to my house. And he was like, excuse me, what
did you just say? And I was like, I have
to go clean before the cleaners get here.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
I'm looking to get my deck like fixed or whatever.
I'm not gonna fix that. I'm not gonna nail in
nails before they come fix my deck. Like I'm not
gonna do the work that they're gonna do before they come.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Yeah, I get that, but like I just feel like
I have to get some of this stuff like out
of the way, Like I have to do a surface clean.
I have to do like a quick tidy up before
they come so that they can actually get at the
stuff to clean. Am I insane? Am I doing their job?
Am I like paying them and then doing the work
(07:28):
for them? Like what six one, six, two four two
ninety three ninety three? Good morning b ninety three? Who's
this and where are you from?
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Huh? This is Kelly from Ada?
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Kelly? Am I crazy? Or am I doing this right?
Speaker 5 (07:40):
So you're not crazy and that's just a joyful thing.
But so, Mike, I'm gonna talk to you about your analogy. Okay,
you said you don't watch your car before you take
a car wash, right, Yeah, So let's say that you're
gonna walk clean the inside of your car. When you
go to the car wash, you're gonna vacuum it all.
You're gonna you know, wipe down the things and do
(08:01):
all the windows and all of that. So the same
concept is where you will clean out your car before
you go to the car wash. You can vacuum it out,
so you.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
Can vacuum it you know what.
Speaker 3 (08:14):
The first you're right, yes, And the first thing when
I said that is I remembered when I took it
to get detailed one time.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
I was going to bring this up, like, before you
have your car detailed, you get all the water bottles out,
you get all the trash out.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
Yeah, but that's because they what are they gonna do
like mostly when they okay, thank you a little bit, yes,
a little.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
Bit, Okay, a lot, but okay, thank.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
You, have a great day. You're welcome you to bye.
Let me explain because I'm feeling real neurotic this morning. Okay.
Lots of people on on TikTok Live. You can stream
with us on air, Mic and Ali Mack on air.
We stream them Morning Show Live every single morning Monday
through Friday. A lot of people are like, what are
you doing? Why are you doing that before they get there?
(09:07):
That's what you're paying them for. Ye, it's not by
the hour. I don't pay by the hour. You pay
by the room. And that's why I like it, Yeah,
because they could if you get like a super super
deep clean, which you can also choose what level of
clean you want as well, which I think is amazing.
Speaker 3 (09:22):
So do you still get the deep clean then even
though you're doing this, or do you get the lighter
level if that's.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
What I choose? Okay, So you can go in and
like choose by room, like do you want a surface clean,
do you want a regular clean, or do you want
like a really really deep clean.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
I got you.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
I got you and a couple of the rooms last
week when they were there. I wanted like a really
really deep clean in the bathroom and a really really
deep clean in the kitchen. And I just feel like
I don't want anything to be in their way when
they come to do that, and I don't want to
slow them down. But also I want everything to be
(10:00):
how I like it. Like I don't want to have
to find mispatulas after they're done. I don't want to
have to find where they put back like pots and
pants if they don't know where they go.
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Okay, I guess I get that a little bit.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Like topperware, Like you don't know where the tupperware is,
like half the time, I don't even think you know
where my trash can is because it's kind of hidden, right.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
But you're not I get sort of putting things in
their spot. But you're cleaning before they show up. You're
doing the job for them before. Do you sweep the
floors too, before they get there?
Speaker 6 (10:27):
No?
Speaker 2 (10:27):
I don't, Oh, okay, I don't.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Sweep the floors, Okay, but I will, like get the
dishes out of the sink, like make sure the blankets
are out of the way, Like I take the pillows
off the couch, I load the dishwasher, I get everything
off the counters, and in the bathroom, I take like
the bath mats out and so they so there's like
nothing on the floor. And then like put the blow
dryer or I put the makeup brushes in the cabinet
(10:48):
or whatever.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Oh I would I would do your job, or I
would come in and do your house every single week
if I could.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Then I feel like it's a sneaky little cheek code
because I feel like they always end up doing more
than what they're suppose to do, because they're like, yeah,
I mean it was in like pretty good shape, so
like the last like when he was there last week,
because I had done like the surface clean and the
tidy up cleaned. Yeah, it was like, I know your
dining room like wasn't on the list, but I want
(11:15):
ahead and mop the floors in there anyway. Oh and
I was like, this pays off.
Speaker 3 (11:20):
Okay, that's okay, this pays off, kind of selling me
on that I do like that.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (11:26):
I just feel like I've I've paid for the job, right,
I've paid for the work. If I then go in
and do it, I'm not paying any less. Right, they're
not necessarily gonna do anymore.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Why would I do that. I wouldn't. I wouldn't get.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
My I realized the detailing what it kind of got
me on this, But I wouldn't wash my car before
I go pay to get it washed.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
That would be silly.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Yeah, but you would take all the trash out of
it before you got it detailed.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
I would probably do that. See I would probably do that.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
See
