Speaker 1 (00:00):
B ninety three. How far would you go for a
good parking spot? I'm telling you, in a time of need,
you would do a lot. I feel like now I'm
not talking anything illegal, right, yeah, like there were no
like elbows thrown right, No.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
No, I feel like people are more aggressive in cars,
so I don't mess around with that too much. Yeah,
I don't mess around with that too much. However, I
will do a lot for a good parking spot.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
And this is reach.

Speaker 4 (00:28):
How far will you go? Mike?

Speaker 3 (00:30):
In Grand Haven? Right now? It is it is Coast
Guard Fast Week.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
And if you are from West Michigan or Michigan at all,
you know that this week brings a lot of tourism.
A lot of people from hot A State to Grand
Haven love that. That's a beautiful thing. What that means, though,
is you had better get to the beach early. You
had better get there early, and you have to scout
and wait. You have to put in work for a
parking spot. Yeah, you have to. And I'm not saying

(00:56):
this was the right thing to do. But there's a
little spot that isn't at the state Park. It's like
I think it's by noos, I'd say, but it's it's
that little parking spot right there and that side of
the beach, those of you who know Grand Haven is
more like for the people who bring their dogs and
people who like the families, because.

Speaker 4 (01:15):
It's oh yeah, I know where you're talking abou Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah, yeah, not the party spot right by the Yeah yeah.
It's way down kind of at.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
The end, and so kind of a hike where you
need to go.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
No no, no, no, it's you just walk right there. But
if I wanted to go to like Coast Guard Festival,
yes it is a hike.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yeah yeah. So we are, we're going.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
To to like parking and I'm like, this spot right here,
this is going to be the best spot for the beach.
So we pull in and there is a car parked
sideways trying to hold two spots for somebody. Well okay, yes,
I know, but like I don't need to engage that either.
I don't need to I could just clearly if I

(01:57):
stay in this situation, it's going to lead to something.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
The doubts.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
So I pull up and just wait and I do
like a parking lot chicken with this person, and it's
like who's going to back down first?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Because that person whoever's going to pull in is.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
Not going to get into that spot because I've decided,
and I think others try to do the same thing,
because people were like, you do that thing where you
circle the lot a little bit, but this is a
small lot, so like there's you circle, You're just in
the same section.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Okay, here's a good question that I want to get
people's feedback on. Okay, should you be able to save
a spot for somebody who isn't there yet?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I don't know. I've bet on both ends. I bet
on both. I like I get what they were trying
to do. Like if if if we're at like a
family function and I know my people are right behind,
like two cars behind me, I might have to check
my tires real quick.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Should you be able to save a parking spot for
somebody who isn't there yet? Or like, what is the
farthest you will go for a good spot? Give us
a call. Six' one six four two ninety three ninety.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Three good, Morning welcome to THE b ninety Three Morning.
Show what's your? Name where you're?

Speaker 5 (03:05):
FROM i Am brooke From Battle?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Creek all, Right, brooke what say you about parking spot?

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Wars, okay So i'm all. IN i don't. Care it's.
It i'll go to the biggest. Links but but my
thing is about the whole saving spot. Thing it's different
like if you if you like bought tickets or you,
know had you, know like Someone i'll come with, you
and you had already paid for a parking, spot like
say like fair parking or something like. That, sure but

(03:32):
other than, That, no it's all. Game it's free. Game
it's free. Game you back, out like you, Said i'm
getting in that. Thing, yeah it is what it.

Speaker 2 (03:40):
IS i sat, There this was a it doesn't matter the,
car BUT i just remember it from the. Day was This,
audie this Black, audie just sat there and just stared
and we stared at each other for it felt like thirty.
Minutes it was probably. Five it was probably five back.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Exactly and that's what they. Do even at the gas.
Station they will sit there at the back of the.
PUMPS i, mean, Yes i'm pumping, gas BUT i mean
they will just sit there and stare at. You, okay
WELL i have to go into the gas, station so
hold on a.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Second thank you for the.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Call we appreciate.

Speaker 5 (04:15):
It, YEAH i have a good. Tuesday you.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Too that's when you get out your little handy dandy,
portable one of those things called the like hourglasses with.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
The oh it's hour, glass, yeah an, hours.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
And you just flip it over and they get like three,
minutes like less than five. Minutes you're waiting for somebody
who's in the neighborhood and they're right, there and they're
going to be there within the next couple of. Minutes
i'm okay with you saving the, spot LIKE i would
appreciate that if my friend did that to. Me but
if they're like fifteen minutes, away, yeah twenty minutes.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Away, no there is a, limit and you can feel
it when you're doing you're in that. Situation you can
feel if the person you and the other person are
are locking, eyes you could feel the amount of time where,
like all, right, Well i've been here a long, time
and you've been here a long, time and there's nobody, here,
right it's time for you to, move.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Right because if you're waiting for somebody to come and
get that, SPOT i feel like if people, come just
let them park and then you can just circle and
just as they, open you can save the next one
that comes open until your friends get there or, whatever but,
yeah we.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Can't, no we're not doing.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Like sideways and spots and stuff for like wild a
half an, HOUR i would Be i'd be.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
UPSET i had kids with the.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Car my windows used to be tinted in my last,
car and like now they are a little, bit but
they're not like as tinted as they, Were so NOW
i like have to catch, myself, like, hey you can't
be doing that if people can see you, Now.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
But YEAH i.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
DO i do get a little hot behind the.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Wheel that was My New year's resolution one year was
to like just calm down and not yell at.

Speaker 4 (05:58):
People but the people are so yellible.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
AT i, know and it's so much easier with the.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Windows everybody does, it But i've found that people are
more angry and less filled, less uh they hold back
less in.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Cars, yeah it does feel safer in your, car doesn't.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
It Like i'm not trying to get to that, level
but most of us have lived here for a while
and no coast.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Guard festus is, busy so.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
You have to strategically get there in park and then
you know you're.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
There for the day and the.

Speaker 4 (06:30):
Parking sometimes you get, lucky, yeah and sometimes you.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Don't State park usually is. Great if you get there early,
enough you could find a. Spot it just might not
be where you want it to. Be if you want
those hidden, gems like by the park that's like across
the street from like the main, strip or Or noos
has that little little parking, lot but it's like perfect
for families with dogs and or pets and families with
kids where you don't want to be condensed in the,

(06:54):
busy busy in the.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Middle all, yeah, yeah how far would you go yeah
to get a good parking? Spot six one six two
four to two ninety three ninety.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
THREE i would play parking lot chicken until one of,
us one of us give.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Up mike has the time and he's got the.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
OPPORTUNITY i got three kids in the car that want
to get. Out. Now good, Morning welcome to THE me
ninety three morning. Show what's your name away?

Speaker 5 (07:18):
From I'm emily From.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Vicksburg all, Right, emily how long can you hold the
parking spot?

Speaker 6 (07:22):
For, Well i've held it for about maybe five minutes
for another coworker of mine and then got profane things
yelled at me from a man trying to go get
breakfast at the restaurant next.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Door, oh so what do you do with that? That
did you leave or did you?

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Go?

Speaker 6 (07:36):
No, sorry well he screamed at me really gross, things
and THEN i hollowed back just a little BECAUSE i
didn't want to lose my. Job and then he just
kind of drove, off and because my coworker was right
behind him waiting to pull into that spot because they
were repaving half.

Speaker 5 (07:48):
Of the parking, lot oh, geez.

Speaker 6 (07:50):
And like weeklean, houses so we weren't even going to
be there that. Long we were there to just load
up and then, Leave so he could have just waited
five more minutes to get ourselves and then he could
have had, It but instead he chose to yell gross.
Thing see that's the.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Line that's the. Line i'm A i'll wave in a
car with windows rolled. Up i'll Be i'll do the come,
on come on Like i'll do. That but the line
Is i'm. Not i'm, not especially IF i got kids
in the. Car i'm not yelling anything at anybody because
you just never, know you know WHAT i.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
MEAN i feel like the time limit is how we
sort of like gauge, this like you got someone coming
there right around the. Corner, okay but they're like fifteen
twenty minutes. AWAY i don't think that should be. ALLOWED
i don't think you should be able to hold a
parking spot for more than.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
A couple of.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
MINUTES i don't, know because there is that moment where, you're,
well you can both feel that it's been too, long,
right you both can feel, that all, right you're you're
doing you're you're holding this for way too. Long but
then do you do that thing where you you, go,
Hey i'm holding it for so and so they're right
around the, corner blah blah.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Blah does it matter at that?

Speaker 2 (08:50):
POINT i don't, know Because i'm, here they're not, right
so move.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Six one six two four two ninety.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Three what is the acceptable amount of time to be
able to hold a spot for somebody who's, like, oh
they're They're i'm holding a spot for a friend or
a family.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
MEMBER i, Mean i've been on both ends of. This
i've been on That i've held a spot, before BUT
i believe there is a time. LIMIT i believe there
is a time. Limit you usually have to have an awkward.
Explanation but this last WEEKEND i was on the other
end of, it WHERE i. GOT i was trying to
get a good parking spot In Grand haven and it's
like the far end of the beach where like the families.
Are and there was this guy who was parked sideways

(09:30):
in His audie, wait holding, off waiting for somebody to get,
in AND i did the stair down with. HIM i,
said all, RIGHT i got three kids in the car
and a wife who's like ready to get out of the.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
Car I'm i'm ready to park, Now i'm.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
Ready, Yes i'm here and ready to. Park AND i
won the. Battle but.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Six, one, six two four two ninety three ninety, three
what lengths would you go to to get the spot
in the parking? Lot good, morning be nainety. Three who's
this and where are you?

Speaker 3 (10:02):
From good?

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Morning my name Is.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Leslie i'm actually living In Battle, Creek, michigan BUT i
am From South.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
Alabama.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Leslie do you think there's a time limit on how
long you should be able to hold a parking spot
for somebody?

Speaker 4 (10:14):
Else?

Speaker 5 (10:15):
Absolutely about ten, seconds BECAUSE i feel like.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
That southern hospitality is really.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
Nice but you're about ten seconds from a brawl in
a parking.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Lot so it always gets heated in a parking. Lot,
specifically especially if it's a good.

Speaker 4 (10:27):
SPOT i think maybe ten seconds might be a little bit.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Short it, is but you Don't you never know how
long that person's been sitting. There but you can feel
it if somebody pulls up and you, see like you
ever pull up to a parking spot and somebody's got
their tailgate or their their hatch open or.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Whatever, yeah you can't tell if they're going in or.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Out, see that is part of. IT i feel like
if you are holding a spot for, somebody play the.
Game turn your hazards, on check your. Tires, sorry Something's
i'm having an issue. Here sorry about, That, Like i'm not,
gonna you, know open your.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Tailgate, yeah you can't. Tell you can't tell whether they're
going to edit it. Out that's a fun game to
play from the other, end to tell, It, robert what
do you?

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Say how long you hold the parking spot?

Speaker 6 (11:13):
For, oh twenty?

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Minutes own, Family.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
No that's that's. Yeah IF i see you holding for twenty,
minutes have you ever held.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
It i'd hate me.

Speaker 1 (11:25):
Too probably that sounds.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
RUDE i don't hate, you BUT i CAN'T i can't
imagine that.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Maybe for like your wife or. Something if a guy was,
Like i'm saving this for my.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Wife she's having a rough.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
DAY i would be, like you know, What, okay having
a rough, day maybe she could use the, walk so
may park in the. Back par, Enough thanks for the, Call.
Robert everybody needs A robert.

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Just saying don't mess With.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
Robert robert's the guy you don't mess with in the parking,
lot because that's the guy that no matter how long you,
wait twenty, minutes he's not giving up that.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Spot if you're riding with me And i'm driving, though
like we are parking in the, back we're getting our steps.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
In i'm not trying to find a. SPOT i will FRONT.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
I got a good.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Seat that's another thing with the time limit on, THIS
i have a good five to ten minutes of circling
the area. Before first, off my wife will say the same.
Thing just park it doesn't. Matter, yeah BUT i have.
To i'd like a good parking. Spot it makes to.
Me it makes going in and out of whatever you're
going to a million times.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Better it's not that big of a. DEAL i understand that.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Fully derek In, hudsonville maybe he's talking About Planet Fitness, Mike,
okay he said jim parking. LOT i drove around for
fifteen minutes waiting for a spot closest to the. DOOR
i was going in to run five miles on the.
Treadmill the irony is not lost on.

Speaker 2 (12:45):
Me that's so.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
TRUE i feel LIKE i look for.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
