Speaker 1 (00:00):
It is the V ninety three Morning Show. I'm Ali
Mack Mike. We're laughing with you?
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Sure? Sure?
Speaker 3 (00:09):
Are we still laughing or are we getting a little nervy?
Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's like that the bubble guts right now.
Speaker 4 (00:14):
So not fully, not fully, I would say this weekend,
if I can't, then I'm probably gonna have to start
panic shopping.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
All right. So first off, let me ask you this question.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
When you grew up, did your parents have like a
hiding spot for the presence? Did they have a place
that so like it was the same every year they
knew where it was.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I suspect they had more than one.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Ah.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I suspect there was the one that we knew about
me and my two sisters, Okay, and then I suspect
that there were a couple other ones that we never
knew about.
Speaker 4 (00:45):
And I think that that's brilliant first off. But I
think that every parent and every kid growing up had
a parent who has like almost the same spot, but
maybe a couple of different other ones because the kids
figured it out at some point, right. And I'm still
in the early stages with my kids. And so if
you got a story where you know you have a
(01:07):
good hiding spot or whatever. I would love to hear
your present hiding spot stories, but here's what happened.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Maybe even better if you could share some tips yes
on how you remember those hiding Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
But please please, because here's what happened.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
I have my wife and I have currently a hiding
spot for our Christmas presents. I have an eleven year old,
a six year old, and a two year old, so
they haven't quite figured out, minus my eleven year old,
that there is a specific hiding spot.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
I was snooping at eleven, so I was, you know,
the laundry room was real close to my parents' closet,
so like if I wanted to do a little laundry.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I was just sort of looking around.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yes, you know, it wasn't opening anything, but I was
just sort of taken inventory.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
And we got like a PlayStation downstairs. So it's right
by our room, so I am kind of wondering if
she has started doing the same thing.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
So it's in our closet, and my wife and I
both know it's there.
Speaker 4 (02:04):
That's where we put the kid's presence, and my wife
and I also got obviously got each other presence, but
hers is in like a box so like, I can't
like look through this box and see what it is.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
And I'm very snoopy, I'm very very like I want
to know.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
Even the kids who went to like the Christmas store
in their school, I'm like, would you guys give me.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
So is there? Was it wrapped when you hit it? Okay?
Speaker 2 (02:28):
So it and it. I'll tell you off the air
what it is.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, and you'll know why it's not just sitting in
a random box.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Got it?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Okay? So I went to I bought my wife's gift.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
Uh, you actually were very helpful in a lot of Yes, yeah, yeah,
I think I went to a couple different places. But
it gave me a direction and I found what I
was looking for. I got her what again, I can't
say what it is obviously.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
But we talked about it.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yes, yes, so you know what.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
It is and and and so I hit it because
I didn't want to hide it in the closet because
she would see it.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
And this was like two weeks.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
Ago, and we're talking about getting ready and getting all
these things together, and I have no idea where it is.
I I have no clue where I hid this thing.
And I have checked everywhere in my house. I have checked, well,
not everywhere obviously, but because I haven't found it yet,
but I've checked everywhere that I think I would have
(03:26):
put it. I've checked cupboards, I've checked I've checked cupboards
that we don't ever use in the bathroom way, and
it's like everything I could think of right away, And
I have no idea where this item is. And I
don't know what I'm supposed to do. I mean, I
have to find it, right but at this point, we're
(03:46):
seven days away. Yeah, we are a week away from this,
and I have no idea where this thing is. Yeah,
I would love to hear hiding spots stories, baby tips
on how to not do this again.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Have you ever lost the gift? What did you do?
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Simplest answer, I think what you need to do in
the month of December is just like you need to
get a storage unit that nobody knows about.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
You know, you need to eat the like twenty five bucks.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
A month or whatever it costs, or like well I
was gonna say bring him here and hinde them here somewhere,
but I wouldn't trust that either.
Speaker 4 (04:20):
Yeah, Tayla from Kayla, we're talking about the gift hiding
spots and I accidentally lost my wife's gift.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
What happened to you?
Speaker 5 (04:30):
I had bought a Miss Rachel tony for my son,
which is a very hot item this year, huh, and
realized that I threw it in the trash can and
run it outside. No, no, like in the midst of
all yeah, in the midst of all of the trash.
I was like trying to go through after wrapping, so
my husband had to help me go get the bags
(04:51):
from outside and we had to like go through our
traps together to find it.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Well, yeah, you're not throwing that, You're not.
Speaker 4 (04:56):
You're did you clean it up and you're still going
to give it to your your little one.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
I mean it's been like a pat like it's still
in the wrappers, so yeah, I'll sit there. But it
was just one of those moments. I couldn't find it
for like a day, and then I realized that I
had accidentally thrown it away.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Good thing it wasn't trash day.
Speaker 4 (05:14):
Yeah, and that Miss Rachel's gold, like I would have
washed it and still used it.
Speaker 5 (05:21):
Well, it's took me so long to find it. And
then I was just like, oh my gosh, I threw
it away, so hopefully you did not do that.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Oh, I did not think of that.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
NY three Morning show. I'm Ali Mack Mike not quite
in the same position. Not all of my Christmas gifts
have come in yet, so I don't even have time to, oh, yeah,
possibly get myself into this situation.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
You still do have a couple like solid business days though,
you're still good. I think, yeah, it's you are cutting
it close.
Speaker 1 (05:56):
I know, I'm getting kind of nervous on a few
of them because it keeps saying like your estimated delivery date,
and then every time you check it's like one day later.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah, and you're like, uh oh.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah, you you still have like good, solid days because
of the way the Christmas falls, but you are pushing it.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
Yeah, I am.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
But at least you know they're like the you know
where they are, right, at least you know they're I mean,
they're coming at.
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Some point somewhere in the US.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
I was just telling you about this, and I think
everybody has. Everybody has a hiding spot for their Christmas presence.
She did as a kid, or you knew where your
parents were as a kid, and you probably do if
you have kids. Now, so let me ask you this question,
have you ever purchased the gifts and then hid the
gifts and then forgot or lost the gifts? Because I
(06:49):
bought my wife's gift, UH didn't want to hide it
with the rest of our Christmas presents because it's not
in a thing that it's like concealable. If I wrapped it,
I guess it probably would have been fine. But she
still she's gonna guess what it is. So I'm like, oh,
I'll be I'll be creative, i'll be clever, and I'll
just hide it somewhere where I know she's not gonna look. Well,
it's pretty good hiding spot because I can't find it now.
(07:13):
I have no idea, and I've tried retracing my steps,
and I was trying to think of what about what
I did that day, and there was probably a party
of a kid's party or something I was racing around.
I remember that I knew what I wanted to get,
and I got it and I got out. But I
remember that it was it was a busy, busy day
that day. It was the Monday after Thanksgiving, and I
(07:35):
don't know where it is.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
So what do you do if you don't find it?
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Do you go, like, do you do you have a
date where it's like, Okay, I'm gonna go out and
get something else, or do you come clean and tell
her and how and she helps you?
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Look? Probably Tuesday, I have to go.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
I have to yeah, Tuesday, next week because that way
it's not the crazy rush on Wednesday and things probably
closing early too, So I go buy another one. I guess, okay,
and hope that we find that one someday.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
But I got such. It's tough because it was a
it's tough. It's tough. It's tough. It's I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
Or I grabbed the receipt and I go, see, I
got this.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Now.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
The fun thing is we gotta find it and it
turns into like a Christmas scavenger hunt.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
There you go, there you go, just tell her it's
somewhere in the house. That's kind of part of it.
You got to find it though.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
We just need a bet.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
First off, we need a better Christmas hiding spot, and
I need one for like when I'm hiding stuff from
her because I don't know where this went. But whatever
it is, it's not the spot to hide digs because
you'll never find it.
Speaker 1 (08:46):
I think that this never made it into your house.
I think it's like stuff behind a car seat somewhere
in your car.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
My car is just like.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
Got lost in the shuffle.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Maybe that's it could be, because I don't remember putting
it anywhere into the house. I know I got it,
and I know it's I know it made it to
the car because I drove around. But we were in
and out of the car going to Chicago last weekend
and I didn't see it.
Speaker 5 (09:09):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (09:10):
I don't know, all right, who's been in the same position?
Six six two four two ninety three morning?
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Welcome to the ninety three Morning Show. What's your name
and where are you from?
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Hey, it's Maranda from South Lyon.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
How are you O good? How are you?
Speaker 6 (09:23):
Do?
Speaker 4 (09:23):
You have a story about hot Christmas gift hidings?
Speaker 5 (09:28):
Of course, because I was a snoopy little.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Kid, what happened?
Speaker 6 (09:33):
So I'm going to start this story by saying something
that wasn't Christmas specific, but my grandma had gotten me
something once and I walked into the house, picked it
up out.
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Of the closet and came walking out.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
Of the bedroom with it, and Grandma looked at me,
She's like, where did you find that.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
I don't know, but I found it and I picked
it up.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
It was in the closet, so well that was for Easter,
but I guess you can have it now.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
So I was like this throughout my childhood. And my
mom decided that she was going to not keep my
Christmas presents at home and they went to.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
My Grandma's in a place in the basement.
Speaker 6 (10:09):
Where I was afraid to go because it was dark
and scary.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
So I need to create a scary spot in my house,
is what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Oh, do not do that to your children.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
That's great, that's a great idea though at somebody else's house.
Speaker 1 (10:25):
But you do live close to your parents and your
in loves right, they're like ship them over in.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
I go some Yeah, maybe you get some free wrapping
out of the deal. Who knows. There you go, Thanks, Miranda,
have a great day. Thanks all right bye.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
Scott on the TikTok live stream said, maybe it's in
the camper.
Speaker 4 (10:46):
That's a great hiding spot because I am the only
one that really goes in there. It's wrapped up for
the for the year, so I pretty sure. Yeah, And
I wrapped it up like months ago, so I'm pretty
sure it's not in there.
Speaker 1 (10:57):
I have, but this for sure made it into the
So you didn't stash it somewhere in the garage, did you.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
I can't pinpoint a place in the house, which is
which is wild because I would think I would have
at least I have go to spots because she's she's
shorter than me, so I know she can't reach it,
but I don't. I've looked all those places. I'm starting
to think it never made it in the house.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
I feel like we got to check the car, and
we got to check the garage.
Speaker 4 (11:24):
Now I'm nervous though, if it's in the car, because
we've I mean since Thanksgiving, I don't I need to
clean the car and there's just like stuff stacked in there.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Maybe it is in.
Speaker 3 (11:34):
There, like under a seat or something.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
I hope not born and Welcome to the ninety three
Morning show.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
What's you name and where are you from?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Chris?
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Have you ever lost a Christmas present because you were
hiding it? I lost my wife's Christmas present and I
have no idea.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Where it is.
Speaker 6 (11:52):
Yes I have. It was one of my kids, and
I went into full panic mode on Christmas Eve because
you know, you want everybody to have the same amount
of go Yes, and I think I found it at
three in the morning. But I'm wondering, do you think
you put it in another bag? I don't know, you know,
like if like like if you bought like like four
(12:13):
gifts and they're in four different bags, maybe you threw
it in a bag because you were like, I don't
want to carry all these bags in the house, so
I'll just throw this one in this bag.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:23):
What I do remember is that I got I did
save a little bit of money on it, so then
I got a pretzel, and then I got something. I
got a hat, and so I had to I did
have three bags, but I have no idea.
Speaker 6 (12:38):
I'm so sorry.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
That's okay, I'll figure it out. But thank you for
the call.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
You in good luck, BC Grand Records by three and.
Speaker 2 (12:48):
iHeart radio station guaranteed Humid is this and.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
Where you're from?
Speaker 5 (12:53):
My name is Kim Mitchell from Kim.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Have you ever lost a gift because you hit it
too well?
Speaker 6 (13:00):
I did. I bought my daughter some Lulu lemon and
I put it in the like a safe.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Spot in the trunk that you could hide things.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Oh, my problem, my.
Speaker 6 (13:12):
Problem, was I decided to get a new car.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Oh no, not the LULUs.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
And then I'm looking for him to wrap and I'm like,
where are they?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Way are they?
Speaker 6 (13:26):
Way are they?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
And then it was way too late, and I remembered
they were in the trunk.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Oh no, I checked what the salesman.
Speaker 6 (13:34):
He said, nothing was there. But I'm thank you singing.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
His daughter's probably enjoyed them.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Yeah, no kidding. Oh no, I never got him back.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
Oh bummer, Kim. That was a great story. Thanks for calling.
Speaker 6 (13:49):
You have a great day, you too.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Bye. Okay, so don't sell your car.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
No no, I probably should start digging through there too.
Speaker 3 (13:57):
I feel like you need to ask
