Speaker 1 (00:00):
We've got Laney Wilson at Fanandel Arena this Saturday night,
and we are doing a pre party. We're gonna be
at Gimme's on the corner of like Lewis and Ottawa
from four thirty until six thirty.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
It's like literally right outside of this building.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Yeah, right down the street from Vanandel, and we're gonna
have an autographed Laney Wilson guitar that we're raffling off
during the pre party. So come down and join us.
And do we have a first timer coming to the
Laney Wilson show on Saturday night?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
So first first timer with a country artist? I guess.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
So my daughter, she's eleven, eight years older. Name's Cecily.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
She's you wouldn't have guessed this based on what I
do for a living, but she's been to one other
concert and then like, I don't know if Descendants count
as a concert really.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
I would say yes, because it is very much it is,
but they go on tour it's an actual show.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
I say, yes, Okay, my brain it was just like
a like a play, like you know what I mean.
It was like a show, yeah, sort of. But so
this is like her second or third concert. Ever, and
I've been very strategic about it because doing what we
do for a living, you know that certain concerts aren't

(01:15):
necessarily for kids.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
A lot and the more I I always.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Tell people, like, yes, of course, you can bring your
kids to whatever show you want. Sure, country shows are
generally very family friendly, but it's more about you, like,
what kind of a time do you want to have?

Speaker 4 (01:30):
Well, and that's kind of what I'm looking So I
worked on a pop station for a little bit, but
I grew up kind of listening to both country and popping.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
It really everything.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
So at some point I got very excited to bring
my kids to these concerts. But I can't bring my
kids to a lot a lot of the pop concerts, right,
I understand.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
And the more like.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Obviously, the more I go to more show and more
country shows and you know, really see everything, right, not
just a show here and a show there, but really
really see everything. It is very family friendly. A lot
of them are very family and I love that. That's
a huge reason why I wanted to be here. I'm
happy to be here, but so now I want to
bring her to this show. So I'm thinking Lanny Wilson

(02:12):
on Saturday is a great one, right, Oh yeah, but
I want to hear the stories about the ones that
you may have gone to, or even the show. It
doesn't matter what it is, the things that you thought.
You know what, this is very kid friendly. I'm gonna
bring my kids to this, and it turned out to
not be to not be kid friendly.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Maybe this wasn't the starter show after all.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yeah, six one, six two four two ninety three, ninety
three BE ninety three Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I'm Ali Max and I'm Mike.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Somebody's first time at a country show this week, and.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Yeah, I'm excited. So she's gotten into it. She's been
with she's eleven years old. My daughter is eleven years
old and I started in radio about twenty years ago.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
So she's only known.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Me as radio guy, right, and she's only been to
one other show. Because I'm very particular being in the business, Alley,
you know this, there are certain shows that are our.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Forfeit, like family friendly.

Speaker 4 (03:08):
A lot of country shows very family friendly, it's my
favorite thing about them. But a lot of pop shows
are necessarily badly friendly, right, not always, And so I've
been very particular about what shows I bring her to,
and so I'm excited to bring her to Laney Wilson
this weekend.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
Yeah, that's a really good one.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
It's right.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
I think it's think it's gonna be a good show.
I think she's really gonna like her. I know she's
really gonna like her live, and it's kind of cool
to bring her to stuff that dad does a little
bit too. She hasn't really seen that world too much.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
She's come into the pre party too.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
I don't know that she's coming to the pre party, Okay,
I don't know yet.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
We're going to be at Gimme's, which is right down
the street from Van Andel, right at the corner of
Ottawa and Lewis if you've never been.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
There, four point thirty until the start of the show,
and we've got.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
A Lanie Wilson autograph guitar that we're going to be
raffling off while we're there, so come see us.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Yeah, but we got I think we're doing stage announcements,
so she'll get to see that at ed Laney Wilson.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
But I want to know though.

Speaker 4 (04:04):
I want to hear the other end because I know,
like I said, I've been very particular. I've done my research.
I know Laney Wilson anyways, like we've seen her live before. Anyways,
I know what her shows are gonna be like. But
I'm very particular because I know what shows not to
take her to. I want to hear the stories. It
doesn't have to be a concert. It could be anything
that you thought was family friendly. You thought you should

(04:25):
bring the kids to show the kids too, or show
the kids, and then you realize quickly this is not it.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
I'll give you an example. Go watch Pee Wee's Playhouse today.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
Go watch that show today and go, yeah, I'm gonna
want I'm gonna watch this with my kids, because you're
gonna go quickly. Hold on, Oh wait a minute, Hold
on a second. Good morning, Welcome to the B ninety
three Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
What's your name and where are you from?

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Good morning?

Speaker 5 (04:49):
This is Cherise from Kalamazoo.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
All right, Charise, what's one thing that you thought was
for the kids but definitely was not?

Speaker 6 (04:56):
So?

Speaker 5 (04:56):
It actually was. When I was a kid, my aunt
had suggested this new movie had just come out and
it was a great movie to take all my siblings
and I make it a family event to the Capri
Drive in Sure. And it was a new movie called
Talladega Knight. Let's say about an hour into it, we

(05:22):
went home because I was maybe.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Eleven, and you don't know, so you know, right, yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
We thought it was hilarious, but my mom just kept
getting more and more up longerfort there.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
That's a great one.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
Do you remember when it was rated? Because you know that?

Speaker 5 (05:40):
Oh yeah, Talladega Knights would have been our I believe.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Oh it was just my.

Speaker 5 (05:46):
Aunt had decided to give us a suggestion, and needless
to say, she's not allowed to suggest movies anymore.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Thanks for the culture. Have a great day.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
You two things?

Speaker 2 (05:56):
By so I mean it's I Google it's PG thir.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
I would have guessed R two based on watching the
movie eight million times myself.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
PG thirteen does not seem enough for talent.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I guess it not at all. Good morning, Welcome to
the B ninety three Morning Show. What's your name? Away from?

Speaker 6 (06:14):
Good morning Dan, and I'm from Kingsburg.

Speaker 4 (06:17):
All right, Dan, what was something you thought was for
the kids and then you quickly found out that it
was not?

Speaker 6 (06:23):
About fifteen years ago, I went to a Toby Keith
concert and Ted Nugent was guest starring with something.

Speaker 3 (06:30):
Oh no boy, Yeah, Ted Nugent's kind of a loose cannon.

Speaker 6 (06:35):
Well, I could deal with that. But then Willie Nelson
started to make an appearance and walked out age and yeah,
strolled was wondering what he had in his moment.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Yeah, a lot of conversations that day.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Thanks for the call, man, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
My kids.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
My kids got a whiff of that once. Yeah, and
they go, why does it smell like Aunt so and
So's house?

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Oh, excuse me?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Called out, excuse me?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
He called out, Yeah, Jimmy and I took my nieces
to a play a couple of winters ago, and then
afterwards they were sleeping over at my house and he's
finding a cartoon for them to watch, and he picked
the Powerpuff Girls, which you know, seems like a good choice,
and my niece, who was probably like four or five
at the time, was like, I don't know, this is

(07:35):
TV thirteen. I don't know if I'm old enough for this.
And then like watching the episodes, we were like, oh, yeah,
a little bit different than we remember, but I think
the secret lives on until today.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Yeah,
