Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the B ninety three Morning show. I'm Allie Max
and I'm Mike so So. So we were talking about
this yesterday a little bit. Yeah, when you travel, what
are like the item that's an absolute must have, Like
you don't go anywhere without this thing.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Yeah, so for me and I hope I think everybody's
got something they bring that I hope they do anyways
that not everybody brings, uh or would think to bring
on their vacations. But I like to bring a boxed fan,
you know, like the old school, like white, plain, white
box fan that's just really loud and they last forever.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
It's about a foot and a half by a foot
and a half.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yeah, not small, No, it's Yeah, it's a pretty solid fan.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
But I like to bring those to everywhere.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
But if you fly, well see here's the thing is,
it didn't always used to be like that. And then
just recently we've been camping and I started bringing like
a little fan because we have AC in the camper
as well. So I started bringing a little fan and
I went, well, no, I sleep at home because I
sleep winter, summerfall, whatever season with a fan on I

(01:13):
have AC like I have central air in the house.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I don't need it.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
It's it's like a nostalgic I don't know how to
explain it feeling. I always have a fan on, even
if I'm sick, I always have a fan on.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
So we're going to Florida.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
We're going to Florida again for for like our anniversary
later this year, and I think we want to stay
in like a nicer place or whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
And I was like, I'm bringing my fan.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
We're talking about like how many how much lugage do
we need, blubblah, And I'm like, do you think I
could fit the fan in one of our suitcases?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
And she goes, what like the box fan?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
And I was like, She's like, you know how weird
it's gonna be if you walk into a nice hotel
with a boxed fan, they probably have AC there. Yeah,
but the AC fan doesn't stay on the whole time
and you end up hearing it shut off. And like,
yes they have they have apps like sound machine apps,

(02:11):
but they're not the same. There's something about a box
fan any time of the year, any weather that is
just different.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
It's different, you know what.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
I bet because hotels they see a lot of different
kinds we'll say.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
A nice way to say that.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yes, I bet they've got a couple extra box fans.
I bet if you just asked the front desk, they
might just have one that they might loan you for
the time that you're there. There was a time they
might I have interested to know if that's something they.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Walk into like the JW area with a box fan.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
My thought is, here's my second idea, is what if
I just go and I go to like Walmart and
just buy one, just leave it like fifteen bucks or
something if that. But it's also the act of carrying
a box fan. And can you see me walking in
with my suitcase of my fan?

Speaker 1 (03:10):
I mean yes, to be totally honest, I love it
is Mike alone in this. Do you travel with a
box fan or do you travel with something else that
you just it's coming with you. It doesn't matter. You
don't care how many looks you're gonna get. You don't
care what people think of you. This is a necessary item.

(03:30):
Michigan's number one for New Country B ninety three. I'm
kind of scared to answer some of these phone calls.
The phone lines are full right now. We said, what's
something weird that you travel with.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
Yes, I got something with me right now. It makes
me feel better. It makes me feel less weird to
know that everybody else does this, not even doesn't have
to be a fan necessarily.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
But Cassie and Wyoming messaged and she said, I bring
my own toilet paper. I do not trust a hotel
toilet paper. I like the good stuff. It's got to
be double ply with the allo. Judge me all you want.
But I travels off.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
I get it.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
I get it because we use the toilet paper here
and I'm not saying it's bad, but it's it's not
home toilet paper.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
It's definitely the cheap stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
You can definitely tell me, good morning, welcome to the
B ninety three Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
What's your name and where are you from?

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Is this kama zoom?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
All right? Rachel?

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Tell me I'm not the only one that brings something
strange when they travel.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
My husband is a box fan as well. Does We
were traveling and he forgot it and he went this
is when I think Walmart or Myers was twenty four
hours and he went at like one am and bought
a box fan because he forgot to bring it with him.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
It's it's the is it everything.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
It's the sound, it's the feel, it blows out the
correct amount of wind.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
It's it's the best in the world.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Yeah, there's no app for doing it like he's at
it just wasn't cutting it. He couldn't sleep till I've
had like one or am or so. He was at
the store getting a new box fan. So we have
we have plenty now.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Good, good, Thanks for the call.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Appreciate it by six one six two four two ninety
three ninety three. Anybody bring like something weird from another
person's point of view, but absolutely normal for you.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I fully understand that this is a thing that it
will look absolutely ridiculous if I walk into a hotel
doing it.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
I don't care.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
If this makes you feel any better. Yeah, Marcus and Ada, Okay,
this one is a little bit bougie, he said. I
bring a spare shower head. Yes, I swap it out
in the Airbnb and I switch it back before we leave.
I'm like, good water pressure. What can I say?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
That is such a good one because we've all thought it, like, man,
I really wish that it was different bit better.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Yeah that's so great.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yeah, so there you go, bring your own shower head,
the chaos in your carry on. This would be like
an extra carry on for you.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Uh yeah, which is why I may just go to
a store and buy a new one.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
At this point, I.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Feel like that's your only option with this one.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
I have, and have always my entire life slept with
a box fan in my room. I have air conditioning,
I have like central air. This isn't a like I
need the fan in there.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
It is.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
It is the only way I sleep in the winter, summer, fall,
doesn't matter. I used to have it like inches away
from my face, and then I got married and my
wife went, I'm not sleeping like that. So the compromise
was to put it off into the corner. And now
everybody in my house because We've gone through so many
box fans, and I've traveled so much and brought my

(06:43):
own box fan places or bought new ones that everybody
in my house has one.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
We have a like a nicer trip later.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
This year for like our anniversary, and we'll be staying
in a hotel, like a nicer hotel, and it's and
we're flying to Florida, and I want to bring this
box fan, and my wife's like that is odd. They'll
have stuff there. We'll turn on an app and I said,
it's not the same.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
Because it's not the same. It's not the same.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
People bring weird stuff with them.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
I feel like it. I hope so.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Ryan from Rockford, he said that his wife packs a
mini toolkit in case something ever breaks in a hotel
where they stay. She fixed a loose towel rack in
Nashville last summer.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
Surprise, she fixed it. She didn't even have to do that.
She's like, all right, here we go. I've been waiting
for this moment.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
But those items that you know, maybe like you bring
them one time because you're like, all right, I don't
want to be without this, and then it just becomes
like a regular thing.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Six one, six, two four two ninety three, ninety three, Good.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Morning, Welcome to the B ninety three Morning Show. What's
your name? Where are you from?

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Hi? I'm Mary. I'm from Baldean.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Hello Mary, what's the what's the one thing you have
to travel with?

Speaker 5 (07:58):
Man?

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Just like you? Okay, I got a couple of tricks.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
Oh, please do tell.

Speaker 5 (08:04):
So when we travel, we used to have a box fan.
Costco has a brand called Bortex. It flows the box
fan out of the water, and it looks much better
than a box fan.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Is that one of those circle fans, those big circle
like a tonne of wind tunnel looking fans, Well, it's smaller.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Okay.

Speaker 5 (08:24):
They have a square one. They have a square one,
and they do have little desk ones that are awesome too.
But we do have friends that travel that have to
have a box fan, and they will go to a
walmar by a fan and return it before they leave.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
That's brilliant. I who think you should do that with
That's brilliant.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
But I'm with ya, I'm with you on a fan.

Speaker 5 (08:50):
I gotta have a fan, winter, spring, summerfall, healthy.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Sick, I'll just I'll just I could have a cold,
like can't breathe, and I will just turn it around.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
I'll turn the fan the other ways.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
I gotta have the noise.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
I can't have the noise.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
Yeah, but check out the vortex from Costco. They're awesome.
We've replaced the box fans in our house. Okay, so
we've upgraded a little bit. Well, yeah, they're nice, nice fans.

Speaker 1 (09:21):
Are they a little bit noisy? Because that's something I gather.
That's what you like, Mike, you like like the white
noise of it.

Speaker 3 (09:27):
Okay, yes, yeah.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Yes, they're very loud, and there's different settings that you
can put on them, but they're they're a nice fan
and they're loud enough.

Speaker 4 (09:36):
That, yeah, they drawn out a loud and noise and yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Well the Vortex fan from Costco. We're probably gonna have
a lot of not sponsored, but we could be
