Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Bannatty three Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
I'm Ali Mac and I'm Mike.
Speaker 3 (00:03):
There are really two kind of people in the world.
I think, those who are the friends that ask for
favors and those who are the friends who help everybody
out with the favors.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
Yes, which one are you?
Speaker 4 (00:16):
I am the option D or C. And I'll just
do it myself until I can't do it myself anymore.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
And then you're forced to and I'm.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Forced to ask. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (00:28):
I So I'm going going to Florida taking off Friday,
Monday Tuesday. We fly out Friday, and I'm in a
situation for the first time in a long time because
I got a lot of family UH in the area.
So if I had like like moms I could ask
or grandparents, I could ask uh to give.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Me a ride to the airport.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
I've usually been able to like find somebody, whether it's
my mom or my wife's mom, UH to just take
us to the airport.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Yeah, that that feels like kind of a big one.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
It is like it's not a big deal, But in
the grand it's like, well, I don't really want to
go to the airport.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
Right now, right right, it's taking up somebody's time, which
I think is the most valuable thing in the world,
and then we would need to ride back too, so
they would have to do it again. So they're basing
their you know, their time throughout the weekend, just coming
to pick us up.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
And so I'm.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Trying everything and anything to figure out a way to
get there. I don't want to spend money on Uber
because I might as well just park at the airport
at that point, you know what I mean. And we
got kids, we got to work around. So we've already
figured out where they're going to go for the week.
They're staying with their grandparents for the weekend. But like
we at the same time don't want to pack everybody
in the car and have her mom take us. So
(01:45):
I have yet to ask anybody and where it's weak of.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
What time is your flight on Friday?
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Uh, it was supposed to be early in the day,
and then we changed it and now it's in the evening.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
It's a little bit later.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah, okay, So we're gonna just goof
around for the day on Friday.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
That's one of those things where like coming back from
your trip, it's nice to have your car there. Yeah,
until you get to the little paystation.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
That's what I'm thinking about.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
And it's like an extra one hundred and fifty bucks
and you're like, oh, that's half a flight.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Yeah yeah, and it's not. It's not crazy, but it
is another expense. Yeah, but that's That's the other thing
I'm thinking about, is you're right. When I get back,
we have to wait on somebody and hope we can
find them and go through that whole rigama roll again. Yeah,
it's just gonna be a pain, and I am it
could be called stubborn.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I guess it could be called stubborn. I'm not.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
I don't ask for favors. I'd rather it's with a
lot of things. It's not just this.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah. I don't know if you guys.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Are like this or if you're like the Zelli where
you won't ask for favors, but I I don't. I
always feel like I'm putting somebody like I'm what's the
word of a phrase I'm looking for, putting somebody out
there or putting them on. I don't know what the
phrases I'm looking for, but I always feel uncomfortable.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Yeah, We're talking about favors, like are you the favor
friend or are you the friend that does all of
the favors.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
I'm the latter. I'm the one like I'll help.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
You out all day, take you to the airport, I'll
help you paint your new house, I'll help you move like,
but I seldom, it is seldom that I ask for
any help in return.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
Yeah, that's a tough see, and that's a that's a
tough situation because you want to you should write you should,
and I'm just neither, Like I will help if somebody ask,
but like, uh, I don't ever, ever, ever, ever, ever
ever ask when and when I should.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
I'm talking projects, I'm talking everything.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
Yeah, I had a friend to ask all of us
if we would help her, like repaint her house, which
I love to paint.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
So I was like, oh yeah, I'm there, like no problem.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
But then I got to see like kind of everybody
else's work in that department, and I was like, Okay,
note to self, I am painting my house myself.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
You know, am I a little bit of a control freak? Maybe?
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Baby, But it's possible. There's also like favors. I don't
feel comfortable, like everybody's got a favorite. They're like, I'm
never asking for a favor that I don't care what
it is. I'm not asking anybody to help me with that. Yeah,
and for some reason projects and this the airport thing, Yeah,
I'm very weird about. Hey, y'all sound to get down
with your favorite moaning shoe.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Run It don't matter if you at home, all the road.
Speaker 5 (04:36):
Let's go, y'all already for a good time.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Three moaning shoes. Good morning, welcome to the ninety three
Morning Show. What's your name? And where are you from?
Speaker 5 (04:46):
My name?
Speaker 4 (04:48):
Hey?
Speaker 2 (04:49):
So, what's the one favor you won't ask anybody to do?
Speaker 5 (04:53):
There's a thing I agree with you, Mike, and I
fout a lot of things and says I'm pretty much
always don't get it myself. Sure, So hardest thing for
me or ever do. And I have this happened to
me all the time, where people are always as to
me for like financial a little financial help.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
I think, Yeah, that's a hard one.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
That is a tough one, honestly, because it's never it
never ends well. There's always going to be a moment
where it's uncomfortable. Somebody doesn't pay or somebody.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Doesn't you know, it just makes it weird.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yes, yes, one hundred.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Yeah, that's a good one. Thanks for the call this morning.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
I mean, I have a friend that I do every
now and then if I can buy a little bit
of money and you always pay it back. But at
pso I have the people ask me and I never
see it.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah, well I got you here though, you got like
fifty I can use for parking at the airport.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
It is the B ninety three morning show. I'm Ali
Max and I'm Mike. Anybody headed to the airport on Friday, Yeah,
like afternoon evening. Want to take Mike and his wife
and drop them off.
Speaker 4 (06:05):
Supposed to be during the day, but if the prices
go down a little, it could still be during the day,
but also right now is in the evening and then
maybe for pickup as well.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
The airport especially is hard because it's nice when you
can get in a rhythm with somebody who you travel
a similar amount with.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
I'm saying yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
Yeah, Like I do you have those friends that just
like are traveling all the time. Yes, it's kind of
like their thing. I don't travel as much as some
of my friends, and like I get the hey can
you pick us up from the airport a lot? They
can get there fine, but it's like on their way
back in which like, yeah, I can pick you up
from the airport, no problem, sure, yeah. But then I
(06:48):
feel like it gets a little bit lost and forgotten
when you got to call in the the favor back,
like hey can you take me to the air because
you can't be like remember that time, Well, actually you
will need two trips to the airportant because of that
time on October fourth, And also like you you can't.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Keep track like that, No you can't.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
But then it gets into like, oh now we're keeping score.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
And that's when it gets uncomfortable. That's why it's uncomfortable.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
I mean you could do it with anything really, Like
if you help somebody move, all right, Well, the next
time I move, you're the first person I'm gonna call.
But we'll say they're busy that day and they can't
help you move. You're not gonna move more than a
couple times hopefully in your life, right, so that one
time you've been saving up your moving moment. Yeah, Like
they're they're not able to do it, and you can't
be mad at them because they're busy that day.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
And are the favors like equal?
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Like, is it me helping you move your entire existence
from one house to the other?
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Is that really? Is the is the Hey, I'll get
you back?
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Really, Hey, I'll drop you off at the airport one time,
Like I feel like maybe that's a drop off and
a pick up.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
You know, this is why I don't ask people for favors,
which is why we don't have a ride to the airport.
I'm likely gonna i've because we've our sitter is taken,
like our sitters is you know, is the kids.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
Yeah, I'm not going to ask them to pack up
the entire car.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
You know, other people have other things going on, and
it's just going to be a hassle to ask somebody.
So I'm gonna end up paying the either the uber
to get there and back, which I don't want uber
to get home because that's a pain. Yeah, so I'll
probably pay whatever the parking is for short term parking,
which isn't crazy expensive, but I'm always down to save
a buck or two. Good morning, Welcome to the B
(08:30):
ninety three Morning Show.
Speaker 6 (08:31):
Good morning, How are you?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
I am good? How are you good?
Speaker 6 (08:36):
So I was just listening to you talk about your
favorites and your airport issues here.
Speaker 7 (08:42):
Yes, And I was thinking of what I used to
do when I travel, is you do the overnight parking
at a hotel that's close by and it's only like
twenty twenty five bucks.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
For the day.
Speaker 6 (08:54):
What and then you take the free shuttle to the airport.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
You don't have to be staying there to do that.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
Do they have those at all?
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Not at all?
Speaker 6 (09:03):
That most hotels near airports will offer overnight parking even
if you don't stay there.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
What I've never heard of this?
Speaker 7 (09:11):
Yeah, because yeah, there's a lot of like companies, just
like with concert.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Tickets and stuff that they sell just parking anywhere around
the area.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
You knew about this alley, Well there are more, I
know it from Detroit, Like we would do that in
Detroit quite a bit. But there are quite a few
hotels around the Gerald R.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
Ford.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Now, I just have never used it because I'm I
just you know, yeah, anybody, Yeah, does anybody in Grand Rapids?
Speaker 6 (09:37):
I know it's called like park where park. It's like
a pink parking app, oh that has all of the
ones in like a radius you can set. I know
that there's a lot of hotels, like I said, around
the airport that offer overnight even if you don't stay.
Speaker 4 (09:54):
I'll have to look into that. I've never heard of
that before. Thank you, good.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Shout absolutely from one to an. Thanks for the call.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Have a great day, you do think bye bye. I
wonder if she's talking about the motu app that's like
the one we use downtown and stuff when you're parking
at the meters anywhere.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Okay, but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
If that is what she said. It was pink. The
moto app is red.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
Yeah, I thought she meant it was called that, but
I don't know. I can't seem to find it either. Okay,
it sounds like there's I mean, there are a couple
of airports around the gr Ford Airport.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
I mean, you'd still be paying for parking, but at
least it would be cheaper.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Yeah, yeah, I don't. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Nically, there's some sort of like shuttle service.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Like a free shuttle that takes you from the hotel
to the airport.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Right again, never done it in Grand Rapids, but have
done it in Detroit quite a few times. And typically
there's a shuttle that hits like kind of the hotels
so that you can leave your car there and get.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
To wherever you need to be.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
I didn't know that was a thing. Yeah,
