Speaker 1 (00:00):
Michigan's number one for New Country V Natty three. It's
the v Natty three Morning Show. I'm Ali Mack. I
almost don't even want to share this because it's like
my little secret weapon.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
I have two foster dogs right now.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I'm just like, I'm watching them for a friend of
a friend while he does some life stuff and like
then they will go back to their respective home, but
they're with me for a little while this summer, and
it has been so nice having dogs in my house
again after I lost Fran last year.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
So it it.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
I mean, I'm having a ball. I'm having a ball.
There are two of them. They're the best dogs. They're
super chill. They do like to romp and like play
and stuff, but for the most part, they kind of
got the memo that, like, in this house we nap.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
In this past weekend, I've had him.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
For about a month, a little over a month, I
would say, yeah, so we're kind of we have like
our little routine now and I totally forgot about this
little life hack when you have pets and dogs, and
now I have two of them, I have a built
in excuse anytime I.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Don't want to do something, you shouldn't tell.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I know, I know that, but I was like, it
was this past weekend and I had a friend in
town and she was going to dinner with her in laws,
and you know, it was kind of a last minute
like invitation, and I didn't really feel like it. I
just wanted to like sit in the house and like
watch some TV and just like chill out on a
Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Sure.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yeah, So I was like, I gotta take the dogs
for a walk.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Sorry, I can't go. I gotta stay with the dogs.
And no one questions it.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
I was gonna say, well would they Nobody can say anything.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
No one questions it. So instead of having to be like,
no thanks, I just don't feel like it, which would
have been fine. It would have been fine. It's just
like this little tiny life hack that I totally forgot about.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
And we've all we've all got that thing. I would say,
because you're you're mid thirties, right, thirty three?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Yeah, I am easy on that mid part. I'm young.
You're a youthful twenty that I am to thirty.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Basically forties, you're basically in your twenties.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
Yeah, basically basically I in my forties and now at
that stage where like I'm a husband and father first,
So if any of those things interfere with that chef's kiss,
any of those things, do I just say no.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Kids are such a good one. Yes, but like I
got kids not feeling good, sorry.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
I say no. I just say no.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Good for you.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
But I wasn't always like that, Like it was like
I got to get back for the kids, or or
early in my dating or earlier in my marriage, I
might have even said, hey, I got to ask my wife.
I've done that before, but now it's a genuine like
I have to check to make sure that this works
(02:58):
with the kids and this works with my wife. Before,
I could do pretty much anything. And that's it. That's
a genuine answer. That's not a but I've definitely in
the past because I didn't like saying I don't know
if you like this.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
I didn't like saying no, I know you just like
you feel kind of bad sometimes, like it's super nice
of you to get the invitation, and I do feel
obligated to attend because I do, like want to spend
time and enjoy a.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Dinner with you, but also your girl is tired.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, I'm trying to girl doesn't really want to go
out of the house.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
How many times you've never used dogs, There's always been
something I.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
Haven't had one. I haven't had one, I haven't.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Got I haven't been able to unlock this beautiful life hack.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Now everybody's gonna know. I know every time you say no,
it's the dog. I mean, they can't I know.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
So just if I feed you a line about like.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
I use dogs, dogs got that?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Just know I love you, I appreciate the invitation, but
your girl just needs some time alone to unwind. And
it's like the perfect excuse. Yeah, and it has just
it's totally forgot about it, and it came back and
I was like, oh my god, I forgot how much
I love this. This is so convenient because you're right.
Speaker 4 (04:12):
It's not always like you don't want to do the thing.
It's just like just today not today. Yeah at this moment, No, no,
thank you.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
What's your go to like get out of something?
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Free card six one six two four two ninety three
ninety three. Somebody better call and agree with me and
say they blame their dogs too, or else I'm gonna
feel real bad.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
Be ninety three. Who's this and where are you?
Speaker 4 (04:36):
From I'm from Rockford, Terry.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Terry, what's your go to excuse to get out of stuff?
Speaker 4 (04:43):
We'll be somewhere And if I didn't want either, I
just said, hey, we gotta go home much and off
though you see.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
It's perfect.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
It makes you look good, nobody's feelings get hurt.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
It's the perfect little life hack.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
Now, I'm gonna think, though, even if you are like,
what if like every time somebody says that, even if
that's like genuinely, hey, I really do gotta get back.
I gotta let the dogs out, all I'm gonna think
is they don't want to be here in that situation
every single time.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
Now, thanks, Cherry, have a great day. What's your go
to excuse to get out of stuff? Six one six
two four to two ninety three ninety three. The dogs
is just haven't had dogs in the house in a while,
and now that I have them again, I'm like, it
is kind of like the perfect like I gotta go,
(05:31):
I gotta go let the dogs out.
Speaker 4 (05:33):
I limit I miss the days where this is gonna
make me sound eight hundred years old. Where I was going,
where I was saying, I have to come up with
a with a reason because I have so many things
now like legit, like legit, legit, that I can't I
have to just say no if it's no, like I
don't have a choice. But there was a time, Oh
(05:55):
there was a time, but my wife, it was just
my wife, and I got.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Check with the girlfriend. It was girlfriend at the time.
I check. I gotta make sure I got her mom
something in law, something.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
The girlfriend is dicey, like you gotta let her know that,
like you are using her as the excuse, because sometimes
cool with it, sometimes not cool with it.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Right.
Speaker 4 (06:17):
That's why I'm on a strict a strict I do
have to I legit, have to check with my wife
and I legit.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Because I even have friends to this day.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
That that that are out of excuses, like they've run
through the out Let me check with my wife. Let
me check with my kids because the kids are older now. Yeah,
their wife, I know, is so chill and laid back.
It doesn't matter that I know that the answer would
be no.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
It raises an eyebrows.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yeah, it would be no. Yeah, I think they're just
using that as an excuse.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
I'm Ali Mack, and I'm Mike.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
I'm a little hesitant to share this new life hack
I have rediscovered.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
You're sharing all your secrets.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
I'm sharing all my secrets as I do. I haven't
had dogs in the house in a while because I
lost fran last August, and I just it hasn't felt
right to get another one, so I just like haven't
and a friend of a friend needed some help in
a pinch, So I'm watching their dogs for a couple
(07:12):
months this summer, and it's been so nice to have
dogs back in the house. I've got two, though, and
they are the They're the best girls.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
They're so sweet, they're.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
So affectionate, they nap on the couch, They're lazy like me.
They're just like, couldn't ask for better, Like I'm calling
them my fosters. Yeah, but it's sort of provided me
with a little life hack again, which I forgot about
for a while there, Which is which is it is
(07:45):
my go to excuse for any time I need to
leave early or just like say no to something.
Speaker 3 (07:52):
Such a good one.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
It's such a good one, just like it.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
And it happened this weekend, like I just I got
a dinner invite and I just like wasn't feeling it.
I just I at a Saturday night, like chill on
the couch in the house. Sure, I didn't want to leave.
What it really was was I didn't want to shower
and do my hair to go to dinner. I just
wanted to throw my hair up in a bun and
just chill.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
Because that's the only time you would use an excuse
is like you don't want to hurt somebody's feelings, but
like you don't want to do the thing at all.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
It's just it sounds a little bit better than no,
I don't want to do that.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
I gotta stay with the dogs.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
It's good.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
It is my go to and it's like I rediscovered
it and I was like, oh, I forgot about this.
Speaker 4 (08:36):
I've gone Now let's see, married for almost what seven years?
Speaker 3 (08:43):
Kids since she's.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
Eleven, so eleven years we'll say, yeah, I've had a
built in like I could use them if I wanted.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
To the wife and the kids. That's the go to now.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Though I am I mean, you could call it train,
you can call it whatever you want. I have to
there is. I am a father and a husband. First,
I have to check with the wife and the kids.
And if it doesn't line up, it ain't happening?
Speaker 1 (09:03):
What's your go to I want to know how you
get out of stuff that like you don't want to do,
or it could be like leaving early somewhere you're just
like ready to go. But what's your like go to
life hack excuse for getting out of plans? Six one,
six two four to two ninety three, ninety three, you
have one. If you want to be anonymous, we'll keep
you anonymous so you can keep riding that gravy train.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
I am going to start using.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
Some of these people have sent it the one we
got earlier about, or that we talked about earlier about
saying there's somebody working on the house. Oh, I got
somebody coming to the house. Yeah, I got the cable.
Infinity's there right now. They said the window is eleven
to there's always a large window eleven to five, which
is legit. That could really happen. But if I just
(09:48):
want to go home and nap, that might be what
I use. Good morning, Welcome to the ninety three Morning Show.
What's your name and where you're from?
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Mike? All right, Mike, what's your go to excuse to
get out of things?
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Hockey?
Speaker 3 (10:02):
You know it's another game, is it? Travel.
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Oh, it's travel every weekend and multiple kids.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
We got hockey, you know what?
Speaker 4 (10:11):
I would love to do that thing that I really
didn't want to say yes to anyways, but I got hockey.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Oh yeah, yeah, you really can't argue with that. Yep,
such a good one.
Speaker 4 (10:24):
Yeah, oh yeah, I'm about to sign my kid up,
kids up for all the sports, all of them.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
We got it. We gotta travel.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Guys, what is your go to excuse for getting out
of things? Emily and Walker said, I once texted to
get out of plans, saying I can't I'm on the
verge of a migraine.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Was I know? But did I want to put pants on? Also?
Speaker 3 (10:41):
No, that's great, that's fair. Yeah, this is all these
really are.
Speaker 4 (10:45):
It's like you don't want to be rude to the
person and just say straight up no, Like it sound
like you wouldn't want to maybe another day, well write
this second, or you just.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
You make plans a couple of days or like a
week prior, and then you get to the actual day
and you're like, what was I thinking?
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Like?
Speaker 1 (11:04):
Sometimes the greatest relief is when the person you made
plans with text you and is like to be reschedule
and it's like, yes, yes, maybe for another time. What
is your go to excuse or what is maybe your
craziest excuse that you used to like get out of
plants that maybe you just like weren't feeling defen't against people.
You know, I still love you, I still want to
(11:25):
hang out with you, just like maybe not at the moment. Yeah,
and I gotta I gotta stay with the dogs do
It's the B ninety three Morning Show, and we are
talking about the excuses that you use to get out
of plans sometimes. You know, it's just a little bit
easier than saying I don't want to do this. Yeah,
I just I gotta stay with the dogs that's mine,
(11:47):
which I haven't had for a while because I haven't
had dogs. And now that I do, I'm like, I
forgot about this.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
How great is this?
Speaker 1 (11:53):
This is so convenient, This is I totally reinvigorated. Life
hack Joshua Ron, this is a pretty good one. I
bailed on a camping trip because I said my knee
acts up with changes in elevation. Guess where they were
going camping?
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Somewhere flat up?
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Assuming alligant we're going camping, and allegant elevation.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
I just
