Speaker 1 (00:00):
The ninety three morning show. I'm Ally Mack, I'm Mike.
Here are three things you should know today. A judge
has ordered the destruction of arrest records for Christopher Sure,
the former Grand Rapids police officer who shot and killed
Patrick Leoya in twenty twenty two. The murder case ended
in a mistrial earlier this year, and if you remember,
prosecutors chose not to retry him, so while the criminal

(00:20):
charges are now wiped from his record, he still faces
a civil lawsuit from Leoya's family set for trial in
twenty twenty six. A new scam targeting heartbroken pet owners
on social media, and there are documented, like actual reports
of this happening in Michigan, so stay aware. Scammers are
pretending to be from legitimate shelters and calling people saying

(00:43):
we have your lost pet. We need money for fake
emergency vet care. They do not have your lost pet.
There is no emergency vet care. They're just taking your
money and run in so officials warn not to send
anyone any money. Call the shelter directly if you are contacted.
A rare fresh one jellyfish was spotted in Lake Erie
near presque Isle. Experts say it's likely way more common

(01:06):
than we realize.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
That's super cool.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
These things are very very tiny. They're called peach blossom jellyfish. Yeah,
they're non native. They've been found in several of the
Great Lakes since the thirties. They're not considered harmful to
the ecosystem. They're about the size of a penny.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Oh, and they can't sting you.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
They do have mild stingers, but they don't really affect
humans very much. It's more just shocking to have seen
a picture of a jellyfish in the Great Legs.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah. Do you think we joked about it off the air?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
Do you think there are other things in like deep
in Lake Mishing we just don't know about yet, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Me and like big bodies of water. We don't know.
I mean, we don't know. I don't know if I
have the lassophobia or whatever it is, like the fear
of you know, not being able to see underwater. I
think that's what it.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Is for me.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
Oh yeah, that's that is terrifying though the ocean specifically,
Oh it's so powerful. Yeah yeah, yeah, Uh, Lake Michigan
is you get pretty deep out there.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I could see that too, And you.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Get out on the big lake on like kind of
a windy day, and from the shore it looks absolutely beautiful.
And then you get out there on a boat and
you just get tossed around like you're.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yeah, no, I get it, I get it. I respect.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I have very healthy respect and fear for large bodies
of water and what they're capable of. So I don't
know if I have my sea legs quite yet. All right,
all right, that's three things you should know. Here's when
you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
This part of your body will predict how long you're
going to live.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
On a Friday, it's your cap size, your calf size.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Cap size one thing. Bigger your calves, the longer you'll live. Oh,
I am so good. You got some meaty calves in
my family.

Speaker 3 (02:59):
A large, mature, more muscular calf, especially when adjusted for
overall body proportions, correlates with better health, nutrition, mobility, and
even lower risk of death, particularly in older adults. So
if you have basketball player legs like I do, you
should go do your squats. You should go do your
calf phrases today, calf muscles reflect overall muscle health and strength.

(03:21):
Strong calf muscles mean you're likely to stay active and mobile,
which is linked to.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Better cardiovascular health.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
I thought it was funny that calf muscles the thing
that nobody works on, ever, is the one thing, is
the one thing a just go do leg day.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Aren't they mostly genetic anyway?

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Are they? It doesn't say in this whether they are
or not. But I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
My wife's got incredible calves too. She's living forever forever.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
That's right, baby beat Dotty three Sports.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
