Fgl and Luke Bryan on Michigan's number one for New
Country and b Natty three. Right at the buzzer, we're
squeaking in a couple more finalists to live the life
with long range Archery and Firearm that one thousand dollars
shoppings free grand prize drawing at seven forty five this morning.
Now usually we're giving you your call of the Wild
at six forty. We already got somebody in as a finalist,
(00:23):
so we'll see if we can get somebody else in
coming up at six forty today and just get a
couple more people in just in the Nicked Time six
twenty two B Natty three Morning Show.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
I'm Ali Mack, I'm Mike. You got all of the
phrases in, all of the last minute phrases.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Right at the buzzer, just time, Nick Time. I can't
think of any other ones.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
So no, those are good. We just couldn't think of
them before you have all of the night.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Here are three things you should know today. Fifteen year
old former Alligan High School student enrolled in the district's
online program has been charged after a police say she
made a school threat. Federal authorities actually tipped off local
authorities on this one. They went to her home last Friday,
they found evidence, and then they made the arrest. She's
being tried as an adult on four felony charges, including
(01:09):
safe breaking, larceny of a firearm, felony firearm, and making
a false report or threat of terrorism. Amazon is going
to pay out a record two point five billion to
settle claims it tricked customers into signing up for Prime
and made canceling too difficult. Yes, the deal includes a
(01:31):
billion in penalties and one point five bill in refunds
for people unintentionally enrolled in Prime between twenty nineteen and
twenty twenty five. I had a moment when I unsubscribed
for my Prime there for a little bit and I wasn't.
I realized I wasn't saving any money with Prime, Like
(01:52):
I thought that was the whole thing, was that you
got discounts on stuff and free shipping.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
M No. No. And I think people are gonna start
realizing that more. That's probably why they made it difficult
to get out of it. Yeah, there were a lot
of apps too that also that made it difficult to
get like unsubscribed from there. Whatever there was. Yeah, like
even Netflix for in the beginning was really hard to unsubscribe.
They made it a million times easier now.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
But even just the emails, when you can't just click
unsubscribed in your actual email, you have to like go
to the website or you have to email customer support, like, no,
I don't, I'm not playing that. Joeanne stores may have closed,
but Michael's picking up right where they left off. You
will now see Michael's ex joeanne stores and online. So
(02:39):
Joeanne's like their yarn line, their huge selection of fabrics
that's going to be online at Michael's dot com. So
Michael saying come over.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
That's the that's the collab I think they needed, Like
put all you put the hobby lobby in there too,
What bed bad beyond? Who bed bad beyond? They just
took over the game. Let's not get.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Let's not get crazy. That's three things you should know.
Here's one you probably shouldn't.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
We talked about this the other day. That's the only
reason I'm bringing this up. Streaming is overtaking theaters for
movie watchers. A recent ap nr C pole It's probably
called something else, but I'm just reading it as it is.
Shows streaming has overtaken theaters as Americans may watch the
main way to watch new movies. About seventy five percent
(03:29):
streamed a new release once once in the past year.
Why only sixteen percent went to the theaters monthly convenience, affordability,
and faster on demand availability often forty to seven days
forty to seventy days after release. Are they're driving shift?
Speaker 1 (03:46):
I still like going to the movies.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Though, nothing. Yeah, there's nothing like it. There's a lot
of factors that go into, you know, not being able
to go. It's convenience, for sure. Yeah, affordability. I mean,
the the tickets themselves aren't that much.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
But how much better does a pop and popcorn taste
it the movies?
Speaker 2 (04:05):
It's a million times better.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
You just can't get that at home.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
There's no there's And I've even gone to the theater
and bought just a giant bag of popcorn and then
went home. And it's it's the whole Yeah, it's the
whole experience. Ye walk it through Rivertown crossings well with
a giant bag of popcorn, but it's the whole experience. Yeah,
it's sitting in the theater, it's the smells it's the sounds,
it's everything about it. I hope it doesn't go away.
(04:28):
You know what they could do is they could just
start streaming their movies at the movie theater. I don't
know how that helps anything.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
That's exactly what they've been doing since the beginning of time,
the original streaming service of the movie theater.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Overall attendance is well below pre pandemic levels, even especially
young among younger and cause conscious viewers. Yeah, I hope
that changes. I hope they figure out a way too.
I mean a lot of them have upgraded their seats
to make them feel like you're at home. Yeah, that's nice,
and I think maybe if there I don't know, I
don't know. I don't I'm not a movie theater owner,
(05:02):
but so I don't have any ideas.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Yeah, it's it's ticket price and like the price of
all the other stuff there, you know, that's what really
does it. I will go to the theater and see
a movie every once in a while because I still
like the experience going same, But when you get the
popcorn and the pop or maybe even like an adult
beverage that they have now, which I love, and it
ends up being like a sixty seventy dollars night for
(05:26):
two of you, Like, okay, we could have went to
dinner at the steakhouse for that.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Yeah, I wonder could you bring in your own food?
Maybe would that change things or would that? I mean,
because they're probably making a lot of money off the concessions.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
They don't like check your bag right, Like that's always
been kind of the unspoken thing, like you're suppose but
you hear, but yeah be ninety three.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Sport Tigers be Cleveland yesterday four to two. That puts
them back tied with them for the for their division.
They will play Boston this weekend. This will kind of
determine the outcome of who they play in the playoffs.
Looking like they're gonna make the wild card. End of
the season is on Sunday. They play Boston Friday, Saturday
Sunday six forty five on Friday three forty five, on
(06:08):
Saturday two forty On Sunday, all can be heard on
our sister station Wood Radio. Red Wings beat Buffalo five
to two in a preseason match, and then the Lions
play Cleveland on Sunday. Pregame starts at noon. You can
hear that on our sister station, your home Alliance Sports
Big one on one point three.
Speaker 1 (06:24):
All right, coming up, we're gonna get somebody else qualified.
