Speaker 1 (00:02):
Michigan's number one for new country B ninety three. We
are just an hour away from kracking open the B
ninety three box office and getting you hooked up with
some hardy tickets for his show at Banandelerina in August.
If you need the details, you can find him on
the concert page at B ninety three dot com. Six
twenty B ninety three Morning Show. I'm Ali Mack Mike.

(00:23):
Here are three things you should know today. Eleven people
stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City on Saturday night
by a guy with a small folding knife forty two
year old guy. He was tackled and detained by bystandards,
including a Marine veteran with a grocery cart, until deputies arrived.
There's like some video circulating online of this very scary.

(00:45):
All victims range from twenty nine to eighty four. They're
all expected to survive. Now the suspect facing terrorism and
attempted murder charges. Another heat wave roasting West Michigan to
close out July. Highs in the low nineties but feels
like near one hundred Heat advisory in effect today from
noon until nine and then relief on the way midweek

(01:08):
when a quote unquote cold front which is.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Just highes back in the eighties. Oh nice slides through.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
So temperatures should fall a little bit, and so should
the humidity. Seems like every week we get like one
or two days where it's like temperatures are in the
mid to upper nineties. It's just unbearable, and then we
sort of get a little bit of relief.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
This is the most dad thing or adult Midwest thing
I've ever said.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
It wouldn't be bad if it wasn't for the humidity.
It wasn't for the humidity.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Classic speaking of the humidity, Coast Guard Fest kicked off
this weekend and it is the one hundred and first,
drawing an expected crowd of three hundred and fifty thousand
to four hundred thousand visitors. Local businesses definitely gearing up
for one of their busiest weeks of the year, all
while honoring Coast Guard members who call the lake shore home.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
It's a big.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Celebration for Coast Guard City US say, in a major
boost for the local economy.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Beach was wild yesterday was we went all we went
for the day yesterday, which there weren't many like Coast
GUARDI activities.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Yeah, but it was. There was a lot of people there,
people at the.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Beach, people on the water, people in town. I think
the carnival and stuff that starts like in a couple days.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
So yeah, but there there is nothing like getting on
a boat and riding through the channel in spring Lan. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Oh gosh, it's the best.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Yeah, that's three things you should know. Here is one
you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Have you seen this app. It's called the Tea App.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
It's a women only platform and it's taking the internet
by storm. This app lets you read or green flagged men. Tea,
which happens to be the number one free app in
the Apple Store right now, allows women to anonymously share
their experiences and opinion about men in their cities. Women
are sharing red flags and green flags to rate guys

(02:55):
and of course offering comments such as describing bad date
experiences or vouching form as a friend. This app lets
users run background checks, search for criminal records, and reverse
search photos to make sure those tender picks are legit.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Wow, I love this.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
I've seen the Facebook page.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
It's like, are we dating the same guy? I've heard
about that.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
A lot of those got taken down.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Oh really, a lot of those, I'm surprised and this
one is allowed to be up. I'm surprised that this.
I mean, it's kind of a funny idea. It's very
it's very more detailed than I rich initially thought. I
thought this was like Tinder, but you just swiped red
or green flag for the person. This is like detailed
background checks. This is wild. This is wild. This is wild.

(03:46):
If it was if the roles were reversed, guys were
doing this about girls, it would be taken down immediately.
Really think so oh one hundred percent if you were
allowed to put it. Yeah, especially if you're were allowed
to rate their experiences the experience you have, because you
know the direction that's going. Now, don't get me wrong,

(04:06):
I think this is hilarious and it's funny, and if
you're a bad guy, you deserve to be at this.
But I've just also saying, if the roles were reversed
and this was a guy's platform, yeah, it would be
immediately taken to a kid.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
You might be right.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
You might be right by saying I think this is
one of the funniest things in the world. If you're
a bad guy, you ended up by this, well, they'll
be they'll be that guy.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
I used to be on some of those, not to
like write anything, but just to like read what other.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Women would write.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
It was brutal, and some of it was like it's
a good thing some of these ladies found this page
because this guy seems like an actual total creep Yeah,
and like what some that you actually legitimately do not
want to get involved with based on the activity that
they were describing.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
That's another That's another one of those sites where I'm like, oh,
this is kind of it was kind of rough, like
some of the this is kind of it gets detailed,
like it was secretive. You weren't supposed to know if
you were a guy, like you couldn't get into it.
At the same time, if you I ended up on that,
yeah that's I mean, that's not you, like you don't
be don't be a terrible humid right yeah, well right,

(05:10):
this is a coldplay thing.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Like Okay, I do like.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
The background check. I know people's experiences with other people
are subjective because that kind of I mean, some of
them are. Some of them aren't. Like if you got
really creepy right stuff happening. Some of that stuff is like, yeah,
that's creepy by anyone's standard. Sure, yeah, but I do
like the background check, and I think that if you
are on dating apps and on social platforms like that,

(05:34):
I do think you should have to have a background
check because you know, safety.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Yeah, yeah, because there's really nothing monitoring that, right. Yeah,
once you meet up in person, it's other than like
bringing a lot of people, bring a friend that's like
hidden off in the corner or whatever.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yeah, you know what I mean. But can you just
sit like two tables? Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
B ninety three Sports.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
Tigers won yesterday ten to four. They did lose the
series with the Blue Jays and are now not the
most winningest team in Major League Baseball. They're actually tied,
but still down a game because of that stretch that
they just had after the All Star Week.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
They lost the series three to one.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
They play a new series with Arizona today at six fifteen,
which you can hear on our sister station, Wood Radio.
And I will say this, I'll say it once and
then I'll say it once we get closer to the game.
This is the final week we are in the old
We are starting the week where we will not go
another week without football. Lions and Chargers this Thursday. It's
a Hall of Fame game. Very excited. Yes, you could
hear that on our sister station and all Lions games.

(06:31):
I'm big one to one point three
