Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ben Netty three Morning Show six point twenty. I'm Ally
Max and I'm Mike. Here are three things you should
know today. We're closing in on another week of this
government shutdown, and scammers are trying to cash in on this.
Why can't they just use their powers for good?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Right?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
The Better Business Bureau of Michigan specifically says fake relief
texts and calls are popping up offering you a five
thousand dollars check.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I get the appeal you have ight atention spammers.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
I could use five thousand dollars right now as well,
But they say the government is not going to call
or text you reminding you that they have some money
for you.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I don't know. I think Big Gretch might I think
she might shoot be a text.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Outdoor retailer Orvis slimming down in a big way. The
company just announced they are closing thirty six of their
seventy one total stores early next year. Now, we don't
know which of these stores are going to close. I
know we've got a couple locations in West Michigan. But
they're saying that big savings are expected. Usually when a
store closes, they do big blowout sales. They do steep discounts,

(01:02):
so keep an eye on it.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Is does this just show us that, like, these probably
were the prices to begin with, and maybe the prices
that they gave us were a little higher than the
prices that they're giving us now.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I would love to know the actual cost of things,
that what the markup is.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Yeah, because are they giving us savings?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Are they just going, oh, we'll put it back at
normal and it's going to sound because it's going to
look like a lot of savings, just.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Get it out of here.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yes, exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Domino's just rebranded. They've got a bold new look and
sound for the first time ever. They have a first
ever jingle courtesy of Shaboozy.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Is shaboozy if.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
You haven't heard it benety three dot com Old school
vibes but with a modern, playful twist. So colorful new boxes.
They've got a revamped logo now dumb no.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Oh, there's there's a couple m's.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
And then in the middle, flashy black and gold premium packaging,
updated ads, new uniforms. The goal is to keep the
piece giant, feeling fresh and young for the next generation.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
That's three things you should know here's one you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Would you sponsor your wedding if it meant you could
save a little bit of money. A new survey shows
a majority of Americans would be open to having corporate
sponsors paid for parts of their wedding in exchange for
exposure at exposure which is ads or branding, to reduce costs.
The idea is that with wedding expenses rising, most people

(02:31):
are willing to allow sponsors to cut down on their
financial burden. Like, I'll be very upfront with you, I
could not afford a wedding ring when I got a wedding,
when I got an engagement ring, could not afford it
radio life, Okay, but I knew I wanted to, and
I made some magic happen with our friends over at Kessler's,

(02:53):
and you know, after that, it was just like an endorsement,
like it was part of the thing. But I made
some magic happen to get that wedding ring. But if
I thought about all of this, I would have done
this for everything.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Everything.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
Oh absolutely, I mean not like this prayer brought to
you by you know whatever, brought to you by Telesman furniture,
like not that, but like.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
But is that what they're talking about though, or are
they talking about putting up literal billboards at your wedding?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Couples might wear ads, so like if you get your
dress or your tucks from Bunny Tuxedo, it might say
Bunny Tuxedo on your tucks.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Like a logo on the back of all of the.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
NASCAR NBA jersey.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Right before I walk down the aisle, I'm in my dress.
Here I come. I'm about to turn around the corner.
Thirty second ad. You have to watch a thirty second
ad before you watch me walk down the aisle.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
The father daughter Dad's brought to you.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I'll sell adspace on the cake.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, see, that's the stuff I would do it for.
But that no, right right out of the cake. But
I mean that's the stuff I would do it for,
like the and you absolutely why not?

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Why not have rail I mean rail side, that's where
we did ours at. Why not have that at on
I don't care on the tables. I haven't say rail
side at every table, like, there doesn't need to be
a commercial, but like or in our case, like I'll
do commercials for rail side if it meant that all
the venues or the venue was taking care of.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Absolutely. Yeah, I think our situation is a little different
because it's kind of what we do.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
But I want to know what kind of companies would
find that valuable. Like the exposure you get at a
wedding usually it's like one hundred and fifty two hundred people.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Yeah, but there's photos afterwards, and.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
How much is it worth to you?

Speaker 2 (04:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:39):
But do people go online afterwards and post their photos
and tag like, oh I was at a wedding at
this place, at the venue.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Maybe, but I think more so if you're getting your tucks,
like if you're getting a tux or dress taken care of,
and you just have like a little like that's every picture,
every single photo, which is gonna be that's gonna see
tons and tons of people, tons of people. Maybe maybe

(05:08):
I'll say this I did when I did my proposal.
The reason like we got a hold of Kessler's afterwards
is there's a fraction of a second where because I
did it in my car and it was over the
radio where it goes from the Kessler's Diamond studios.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, but we have access to radio stations.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Yeah, it's different for yeah, but what if the radio
station is playing at your wedding. Like what if we
took like a big one on one point three and said,
all right, you bought ad space during your wedding at
this time, so play the station and we'll play ads
during your time.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Too complicated, not at my wedding, but more power to
anybody else that wants to do it.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
I would have done it.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yeah's your money.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
I don't know if my wife would have been on board,
but I would have done at times a million if
I could have if and then taking the money we
were going to spend on the wedding and starting a
life with it or going on like a crazy honeymoon.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Yeah, I get the appeal. I get the appeal, right,
I just I don't know if I got you actually
do it.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
I don't know if my wife would have done either.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Ninety three Sports Tiger There was a lot.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Of losing in Michigan over the weekend. Tiger's lost to
the Mariners three to two, so they are done for
the season. MSU lost to UCLA thirty eight to thirteen.
U of Them lost to USC thirty one to thirteen.
Red Wings were the only team to win this weekend
six to three. Versus Montreal and then Lions lost to
the Chiefs and a tough one thirty thirty to seventeen.

(06:34):
There now four and two on the season, and we
may have lost our defense another defensive back, which we
are already scraping and scrounging for players on defense right now,
after a stupid fight at the end of the game.

Speaker 1 (06:45):
So uncalled for, so unnecessary.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah, one hundred percent. He just swings on players.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
I'm sure there's frustrations and all that kind of stuff,
but you can't do that.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
You know that it costs makes us look so bad.
One hundred percent.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
We should have won that game number one, and then
to do that after we lost like it just it
was a It left a bad taste in my mouth.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Yep, he'll get fined and then he will probably not
play like the next game. Great, uh, they'll red Wing
excuse me, red Wings play today three forty five against Toronto,
which you can hear on our sister station Talk twelve
