Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the B ninety three Morning Show. I'm Ali Max.
It's seven oh one. Here are three things you should
know today. There is a new email scam going around
West Michigan. The email impersonates the Grand Rapids City Planning Commission,
and this one kind of looks legit, but shockingly they're
demanding payment. So officials say, always reach out using legitimate

(00:20):
contact info, not necessarily what's given in the email, but
do a Google and double check before you start handing
your money out, and in emails and text messages, do
not click on any links. Ford increasing prices on three
vehicles made in Mexico because of the tariffs, the Mustang
mock E electric suv, the Maverick XLT all wheel drive pickup,

(00:42):
and the Bronco Sport Heritage series. The Mustang Mocke gonna
go up the most two thousand bucks, the Maverick about
seven hundred dollars, and the Bronco Sport Heritage about six
hundred dollars. Ford says the more expensive prices will only
impact newly imported cars built after a second The conclave

(01:02):
to select a new pope began yesterday and Day one
ended with black smoke above the sixteene Chapel, So that
means no pope was elected yesterday. The cardinals are locked away,
no phones, no real access to the outside world. They're
going to keep voting with up to four rounds every
single day. If no one is elected after the third day,
they'll take a twenty four hour break and get back

(01:23):
to it. Since eighteen thirty one, no conclave has lasted
more than four days.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Get those unofficial bets going.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
People in other countries are voting on the papal elections.
Now that is illegal in the United States, but that
has been one of the craziest things because I don't remember,
like when Pope Francis was elected, I don't remember the
betting being talked about. But now it's like I have
seen this online several times.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Yeah, I wonder why we can't bet on it here.
I mean realistically, morally it doesn't feel ripe, but we
bet on everything else, right, it doesn't affect anything.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I can't imagine moral high ground would be the.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
Reason in the US.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
That's three things you should know. Here is one you
probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Someone has done a study this is from your Tango
dot com and come up with the eleven reasons why
people keep their phone on silent twenty four to seven.
I don't know my mom, I guess doesn't do this,
but I don't know a lot of people. I don't
know a lot of people who don't have their phone
on silent.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
The boers don't know silent exists.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Yeah, yeah, my mom's just on the cusp of being
a boom er two, Like just before it whatever that is,
jen x is that what? I don't know anyways, right
before it and she still has like the ringtone ring tones,
Like my sister has a specialized ring tone. I have
a specialized ring tone. That's how back she goes with
her phones. Yeah, but it's always on and it's always

(02:52):
the screen never shuts off.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
I don't know how she does that. If she sets
it down, the screen is always lit. Feature.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
I didn't even know what's possible anyway. Here is the
eleven reasons, uh why people keep their phone on silent,
And maybe you do some of these or these are
some of the reasons why they're introverts who don't want
to socialize. I guess I don't really have that one necessarily,
but I get it. They're more productive without distractions. Yes,
they're setting boundaries. Yes, they're aware of their phone dependency.

(03:19):
They want to maximize their alone time. They have a
busy schedule. They consider it a form of self care.
That's scary to think about. They get better sleep.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Nah, now I'm.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Gonna look at my phone, whether there's a notification or not.
They prioritize person in person interactions.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
I do actually like that a lot. Uh.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
They're committed to a routine and they find it relaxing.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
And they're not psychopaths.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I'm just saying, could you tell me? Could you sing
the current iPhone ring tone right now? No? I couldn't either.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
My phone has been on silent for a decade plus.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, this is the last rington I remember. Do do do?
And that's like okia, I think, do do do do? Do? Do?
Do do do? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Anyways, B ninety three Sports.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Tigers beating the Rockies eight to six.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
They played Colorado again today in a doubleheader after making
up the postponed game from earlier this week. Games start
at three pm on our sister station, Wood Radio.

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
