Speaker 1 (00:00):
Michigan's number one for New Country B ninety three seven
o'clock with the B ninety three Morning show.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
I'm Ali, Max and Mike.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Here are three things you should know today. Kent County
asking for public input on deer management. The local population
is growing, hunting is declining a little bit, so they
have a series of open houses over the next week
to help share updates but also gather feedback. So if
you are a hunter or just someone who I don't

(00:26):
know maybe has an idea for deer population control, officials
want to hear from you. They say deer related crashes
are on the rise and it is costing residents in
the county a lot of money, like more than two
hundred thousand dollars last year. Heading out of the country
this summer, the CDC urging travelers to double check their

(00:46):
measles vaccination status. Global cases are rising. Measles can be serious,
and most cases in the US have started with someone
catching it abroad. So getting vaccinated not just about protect yourself,
mostly about that, but also about protecting everyone when you
come home as well. After forty nine years, Yester dog

(01:08):
owner Bill Lewis is passing the torch he has sold
to new owners. He says, don't worry, the beloved Grand
Rapids hot Dog Joint isn't changing. The new owner's promise
to keep everything the same, from the menu to the
veteran staff. And yes, it will remain cash only, which
is my only gripe with Yester Dog.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, it was interesting to see that he wasn't even
trying to sell that place, like somebody just came in
and offered him. I wonder what they do change, because
they might. They're not either going to change the meat
of it. Right, it's gonna be great hot dogs. It's
gonna be you know, the same great people in there.
But at some point you got to you gotta modernize
it a little bit, right.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Maybe No, I don't think you do. I think you
just keep it exactly the same. What's what is currently
there is obviously working?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yeah, but what's adding a credit card machine other than
more money?

Speaker 2 (01:59):
I don't think that's a big change. I'm not saying.

Speaker 3 (02:01):
I mean, I don't run a business, so I don't know,
just asking the question, but like to me, that seems
like a it's.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Like part of it, Like you know when you go
to Yester Dog, that it's cash only, but.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I ever have cash that a lot of people do.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I ever have cash, But when I do have cash,
I'm always there. Like if I got twenty bucks in
my pocket, I'm going to Yester Dog.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Two am hot Dog or one am hot Dog on
a Saturday night.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
Yeah, it was one of the greatest things in the world.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
That's three things you should know. Here is one you
probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Tinder is testing a height filter in an effort to
help people connect more internet or intentionally. Tinder is testing
out a feature that lets use yours screen potential matches
based on how tell they are. Only the dating apps
members who pay for higher tier subscriptions will have access,
and the company reports that it's it's a preference, not

(02:52):
a hard filter, so it won't block or exclude profiles
you don't meet the height requirement, But some critics on
social media are already calling the filter out, including one
who demands justice for the short gigs.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
No, I think this is a great one.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
I think because you can't tell all the time, like
you can't tell how tall somebody is and whether you
Some people liked their spouse to be taller than them.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Some people like them when they're shorter. Some people don't care.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Yeah, whatever that might be. And some people will trick
you and they'll make you think they're tall and then
they're not tall and you show up.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
You're like, oh my god, what you're just any baity guy.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
I can't believe that Tinder is so late to this trend.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
There's already a lot of height filters.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Bumble and Hinge. Those are like really the only ones
I ever used when I was single. Okay, I never
used Tinder because I was like on it for a
short bit when it first came out, and it was like,
this isn't where I want to be. But like Bumble
and Hinge already have that. It's been on there for years.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Really yeah, well then why did they have it as
like a top tier you have to have a subscription
to get it.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
I never used the dating app, so I have no idea.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
I mean, I guess it's something that people want. Okay,
now they're making you pay for it?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
How does it? So? How does it work? Can Bumble
and Hitch.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
The same way? You can just like adjust the like
little slider to say, like I'm looking for somebody between
five five and six feet or whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
That's so funny. That's hilarious. It's hilarious. You're picking out
that's funny.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
That's the greatest thing I've ever heard about it because
you're I get it.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
But like you never know what you're gonna get because
for some reason, there are a lot of guys that
think five to ten is six feet and like who
cares anyways, Like I don't care how tall you are.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Oh, but it's funny, Like why lie about it? Yeah,
that's funny that that's an option.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Like I'm gonna be able to tell Yeah, especially like
I'm five eight. Like if we meet up and you're
five to ten and you tell me you're six feet
and you're only two inches taller than me, what else
are you gonna lie about?

Speaker 2 (04:49):
You know? Funny?

Speaker 3 (04:51):
I only thought it was like distance and like maybe
what you were into.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Oh no, there are a ton of filters.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
That's interesting.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Yeah, there are a ton.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I wish we had a single friend in the building
who was actively on that so I could just look
through it.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
And Charles is Charles on that.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
I know he's got a girlfriend, but oh does he
Well we'll see.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
How that goes.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
We'll see I hope for the best, but also I
would love to help and go through those I think
that's fascinating. I don't want to be a part of
it at all, but if somebody is already actively on there,
I would love to see what it's all about.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Yeah, ton of filters, wild ones too, be Natty three Sports.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
This is coulda consume the rest of my day.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Tiger's beat the White Sox thirteen to one yesterday, Carrie
