Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here are three things you should know today. Michigan lawmakers
want to let bow hunters carry pistols for protection in
the woods, even if you don't have your CPL. The
bill would allow pistols only for self defense against predators.
This is not for hunting game archery. Deer season kicks
off October first. Of course, the proposals still awaiting a
committee hearing, so to be honest, I'm not sure they

(00:21):
get this done before it officially kicks off, but you know,
maybe a couple weeks from now. Less than a week
after pulling Jimmy Kimme alive, Disney says the Late Night
Show is back tonight. The company said the pause was
due to ill timed remarks and added they had thoughtful
conversations with Kimmel before reinstating him. Some broadcasters in some
stations they're just not going to take it back. So

(00:44):
if you are usually a Jimmy Kimmelive watcher, you might
see it, you might not.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
It's kind of confusing.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Consumers who purchased poppy sodas, I'm not a big poppy person.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Ah, they're okay, they're okay.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
I'd just rather have a regular, you know, like a
diet coke.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Uh sometimes, Yeah. I always thought Poppy because.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
My be healthier, that's like the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Yeah, I thought they were like Lacroix or whatever. That's
what I thought they were like, right or no.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah, it's kind of what the lawsuit is over. It's
a class action settlement. It's like nine million dollars that
they were improperly marketed as gut healthy.

Speaker 2 (01:26):
I guess maybe they're not.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
If you purchased any Poppy between January twenty twenty and
July twenty twenty five, you may be eligible for some money.
It's like seventy five cents per can or up to
sixteen dollars per household. You don't need your receipts, but
you do have to file acclaim. It's Poppysettlement dot Com
and you have until September twenty sixth to do that.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Okay. So if I said that I just bought like
six million cases, they'd be like, Okay, well, I guess
you did.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Well it's up to sixteen dollars, So seventy five cents
per can not doing that match or sixteen dollars. Yeah,
So but you do not need your receipt Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
So I don't.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
But you know, with these settlements, it's kind of based
on how many people go back and file acclaim. If
you don't file acclaim, you're not getting money, but that
doesn't mean that you'll get more money. If more people
don't file acclaim, you're getting maximum sixteen bucks, which is
not nothing.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
It's not nothing, but they make it not worth it.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
But you know, if you spent more than that over
the last five years, I mean, that's a big window.
That's three things you should know. Here's one you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Taylor Swift is releasing a official party of a showgirl
like in theaters. I saw that, uh, and I guess
there's all these parties popping up everywhere too. But like
she's doing it a movie theater specifically, and has already
scored fifteen million dollars in pre sales.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Duh.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Somebody create a class on this woman and and teach
people whatever it is that she's doing. Because whatever it
is that she's doing, well, I know what she's doing,
but the way that she's doing it, teach people because
it is brilliant. Everything she touches, yeah, is goal everything.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
There got a Taylor Swift class at Grand Valley. I
don't know if it's a marketing class or communications class,
but they've got something or maybe history. I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
It needs to be encompass everything because even from her start,
our big big boss here, Tony Travado told me that
when she was like just starting, she was great about
remembering everybody's names. Ye, she would come, she would send in. No,
she would always just do these little things that is
like next I mean beyond her years, beyond her years,

(03:47):
and some of the biggest artists, Like I'm not going
to point out any artists or whatever, but some of
these bigger artists, they would never, they would never.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah, she like has pictures and personalized notes in our
boss Dave's office because obviously she started country and way
back in the day she played Taste of Grand Rapids,
That's wild and she came in here and our overnight
guy at the time like just asked her to do
a little like intro for his show, and she did.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
She just like picked up her guitar and did like
a couple of riffs and.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
See, that's next level stuff. Like she doesn't need to
do that, And even at that started her career, like
she doesn't need to do that, and.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
I think more people do it these days because they
have seen like, oh this works.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
That's because that's what people remember and care about. Like
you can make all the great music in the world,
but if you are not a nice person.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, And she of course attributes it to Garth Brooks. Really,
she was like, you know, Garth Brooks taught me a lot,
and he was really notorious for being very personal and
having a great memory and you know, knowing names.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
And because of notes and stuff. He's trying to stay
out of jail for all those I'm kidding. I'm kidding.
I don't know it to be true. It's just a big,
coolincidence every place he goes.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
The tom So Yes, Yeah, Lions beat the Ravens yesterday
thirty eight to eight.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
What a great win. It was a great game. One
of those games where I went to about halftime and
I was like, you know what, I'll watch. I'll catch
the rest in the morning. I was listening, I'll catch
the rest in the morning, and third quarter came and
I went, well, I could stay up a little bit longer.
I stayed up for the whole thing. It was an
amazing game. Lines look great, there's no more questions about

(05:26):
their offensive coordinator. Their defense look good. Some little things
that need to be fixed there, but I mean, there
was what's gonna happen throughout the year. They're playing the
Browns this Sunday. Who beat Green Bay Packers. So we
beat the Browns essentially we beat the Green Bay Packers.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Well we're going to have another shot at the Packers. Yes, yeah,
a little bit later this season, so you know, I know.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
But it's still it's still stings. So I still want to,
you know, find away, fight away the Browns or excuse me,
the Guardians played the Tigers today six fifteen. You can
hear that on our sister station, would Radio
