Speaker 1 (00:00):
V ninety three morning show I'm Ally Mack and I'm Mike.
Here are three things you should know today. Muskegan redesigning
one of the city's biggest roads, Apple Ave, between thirty
one and Downtown. It's going to go from the four
lanes that it is now down to three lanes. There's
going to be a center turn lane and also a
ten foot wide bike path. This is going to be
a big project. The city also expressed interest in taking

(00:22):
the road over from m DOT. Construction is going to
start in twenty twenty six. Ford announcing they are cutting
three hundred and fifty jobs in the US and Canada.
The cuts will all be in the same department, this
time around connected vehicle software. They did release a statement.
They said that this is part of an ongoing effort
to improve efficiency. After more than thirty five years behind bars,

(00:45):
Lyle and Eric Menendez now eligible for parole following a
judge's decision to re sentence them from life without parole
to fifty years to life. The brothers were convicted of
killing their parents in nineteen eighty nine, but have long
claimed they acted after years of sexual abuse by their father.
New evidence their rehabilitation efforts, and you know, we gotta

(01:08):
think that Netflix show also had something to do with
this one hundred percent.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Do you think the Tiger Kings though sitting in jail,
like come on, come on, like my show did well too.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I know the Tiger King really thought that he was
going to get a pardon. He was so convinced.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
He did, like like he did some bad things too, right,
like illegal things too.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
Have you rewatched Tiger King at all since it came out?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
I haven't because it's one of those shows that are
in my head right now, is as this beautiful masterpiece
of madness and chaos, and I feel like if I
watch it today, not stuck in a house because it
was it was COVID.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Time, Yeah, like early COVID time, I think.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
I would just shut it off, like I think I
would just I don't think it's gonna be as great
as I it was when we.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Had to watch it. I've rewatched it like two or
three times, and it's just as good.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Is that real?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
A third time? It is? It just it's so wild,
you just like there's so much that happens and king
uh that you go back and watch it and you
you see things you didn't see before.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
So do you think Carole Basket is still guilty there
to know or do you think it's just him?

Speaker 1 (02:12):
I kind of flip flopped on that did. Like at
first I was like, why is he like hating on
this lady? Like they're just competitive. He just wants to
be the guy. He wants to be the king. He
wants her out of the way, right, And then like
all of this stuff about Carol Basking came out and
like big Cat Rescue, and now I'm kind of like,
maybe we lift the hood on Carroll Basket a little bit.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Carroll Basket's out, Tiger King is not out, and somehow
the guys who killed their parents are now getting out.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yep. Netflix is wild twenty twenty five. That bingo card
looking real weird. That's three things you should know. Here
is one you probably shouldn't.

Speaker 2 (02:50):
I feel like I need to get a tinfoil hat
in the studio and every now and then just throw
it out because I'm not a conspiracy theorist necessarily, but
I like to go down a rabbit hole times.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I'm a conspiracy appreciator. Yeah, I enjoy hearing different conspiracy theories.
I don't buy into all of them. But I do
like hearing what people come up with. But this one is.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Wild to me because it's it's going to happen. It's
just how far will it go. Apple is developing new
technology that would allow users to control their devices with
their brain neural signs, a shift that would open up
Apple products to tens of thousands of people who can't
use their hands due to injury or disease.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
That part of it right there, that's how you sell
whatever this is. But that's not the end, is it that?
I mean, anybody could do it. Anybody could do it.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
The tech giant is teamed up with a company that
will create a brain implant that captures neural signs and
translates them into actions. Think about somebody who it's gonna
start with.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Super rich people.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
They're gonna go, I don't have the time to look
down at my phone or my watch entire like. They're
gonna it's gonna be a ROI thing. Is the investment
on this gonna pay off in the end. Then they're
gonna get the brain things. Then the price of it's
gonna go down. Then it's gonna get to like us,
and people are gonna go Yeah, you know what, I
don't want to touch. I want to be hands free
while I'm driving my car. I'll put that brain chip

(04:10):
in next thing. You know, they're just reading our brains.
They're gonna know what we're thinking at all times. They're
gonna buy stuff for us. We're gonna buy stuff and
not even realize we're buying it. I just don't I
don't think this is the greatest of ideas. I think
this is a good idea for those situations of people
who the tens of thousands who can't use their hands
due to injury or disease.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Remember in high school, in technology class or computer class
or whatever, and they're teaching you how to use microsoftic cell,
and you're like, this is the future. This thing does
the math equation for us. Yeah, we can just punch
in these numbers and punch in a couple letters and
this does a lot of math for us. Yeah, that
is the future. That is Never ever did I think

(04:50):
sitting in my junior year taking my computer class learning
microsoftic cell, we'd be talking about brain chip implants.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
No, it was always a fourteen years later. It's always
a joke, right, like, Oh, we're all gonna get in
plants someday. Then you see the stuff like this and
you're like, we're all gonna get in plants some day.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Black mirror. Yes, yes, I was trying to think of
the show. Yes, that's exactly what it is, totally. B
ninety three Sports Tigers beat Boston ten to nine. Yesterday.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
They played Boston again in their roundup for the three
game series. Pregame starts at six fifteen. First pitch is
at six point forty. You can hear that on our
sisters Station Wood Radio.
