Bucks coming up. We've got tickets to get you in
to see Brett Aldridge at the Masonic Temple Theater in
Detroit coming up December seventeenth. That's gonna be an awesome
show holiday, of course. And we've got a What's in
the Box T shirt for you if you guess correctly.
Seven oh one b Natty three Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I'm Ali Mack and I'm Mike.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Here are three things you should know today. Holiday travel
is about to get real busy, the busiest Thanksgiving on
the roads ever. Your best bet, yeah, is to leave
early this morning or early on Sunday. Traffic is going
to be the worst later in the day. Perfect West
Michigan also getting its first real blast of winter this week.

(00:40):
Strong winds, lake effect snow slick roads Wednesday through Friday,
so plan extra time if you are driving anywhere. Good
news for Thanksgiving travelers, though, gas prices are way down.
Gas Buddy predicting the national average going to be about
three dollars two cents a gallon on Thanksgiving Day, one
of the lowest in five years, and prices in West

(01:00):
Michigan are already dropping even better. They think it's going
to keep dropping through the weekend. Cheapest gas expected Sunday
and Monday. Raising canes not slowing down in West Michigan.
After last week's a massive grand opening in Kentwood, the
Chicken chain already planning a second Grand Rapids location on
Alpine in Walker. This is going to replace the old

(01:21):
TGI Fridays, complete with a double drive through indoor seating
at a patio. Construction is going to start by next summer.
They say. The drive through moves fast. They average about
two and a half minutes. Oh nice, which is good
because we're coming hungry.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, and uh, because I got to figure out how
to get back on Alpine safely. So I need to
be in and out quickly. Why what? I love everything
out there, right, I go there all the time, love
the target out there. Why is Alpine so difficult?

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Why? But we know from experience, right, like some of
the fast food places right off Alpine, like the drive
through ken back up because sometimes you're waiting for people
to turn back out onto Alpine. So I wonder if
they have factored that in the plants.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
They must have, because good thing. Yeah, because the taco
bell right there is pretty quick. They get you in
and out pretty quick.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, but they're like in that little shopping plaza. So
there's like more in that parking lot for paneras right there,
So yeah, some more room for people to go.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
I'm trying to picture with the TGF Friday. Is it
over by the Starbucks, like on that side, like the
Logan's Roadhouse and all that stuff. Is it over there?

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Is it on that side?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I don't, I genuinely don't remember where the TGI Fridays was.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Well, I'm sure you won't be able to miss it. Yeah,
that's three things you should know. Here's one you probably
shouldn't today.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Woods Today it's like the drinksgiving biggest bar night of
the year.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
That's what they say. But is it anymore?

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Uh? Yeah, it looks like a lot of people are
still doing that. It's still considered the biggest bar night
of the year outside of New Year's Eve. I just
saw an article on that. Okay, Thanksgiving is Thursday, Black
Friday is Friday, Saturday, isssmall Business Saturday, and then what's Tuesday?

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Giving? Tuesday?

Speaker 2 (03:04):
That's right? Did you also know that Friday is called
brown Friday?

Speaker 1 (03:11):
We even want to know?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Well, said she had? You brought it up the day
after Thanksgiving is considered one of the busiest days of
the year for plumbers. Yep, Black Friday isn't just a
big day for real retailers, it's a big day for plumbers.
In fact, it's even been dubbed Brown Friday. According to
Rota Ruter, plumbers average fifty percent more calls on Brown
Friday than any other friday of the year. The main

(03:35):
cause for the spike in calls are clogs and sinks,
garbage disposals, and yes, toilets. A spokesperson for road Ruder explains,
often the case is that the house already has partially
clogged drains that go unnoticed until holiday guests arrive and
overwhelm the system. Even more problematic is that virtually every

(03:58):
traditional Thanksgiving dish is a clogging culprit. And there is
nothing worse than going to somebody's house and you clog
the toilet because you're gonna try to fix it. You
don't want to walk out there and be like, hey,
I clut, so then you try to fix their toilet
and it only makes it worse.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
We love you, plumbers, yeah, thanks for being there for us,
and we're sorry we don't know the rules about what
goes down the garbage disposal.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
They say it's the foods too, though. The things that
we're eating on Thanksgiving clogged the toilets a lot.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
Yeah, and like soppy grounds are really bad and eggshells
are bad.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
I have some family members. I have a family member
that is like an engineer, just a genius human being.
Didn't know you're not supposed to dump oil down the drain.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Yeah that's a bad one. What what so?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Yeah, that's what happens. You have guests over and they
don't they don't care. They're just dumble stuff down the
drain and it's.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Not their garbage disposal. Oh right, be nutty three sports.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Michigan State be East Carolina eighty nine to fifty six.
U of M beats Auburn one o two to seventy two.
Pistons play Boston today, Red Wings VERSU Nashville six forty five.
You can hear that on our sister station Talk twelve
thirty am. Griffin's playing Texas. You can hear that at
eight pm on ninety six one the game, and then

(05:16):
Thursday Lions versus Green Bay noon is the pre game.
Big one oh one point three is where you can
hear that it's our sister stations. A very important game.
It's a Thanksgiving game, so it's always fun. But if
we beat Green Bay, that moves us up. If the
Bears lose, that ties us. So this is a very
important divisional game outside of just being like a fun

(05:38):
Thanksgiving game.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Kneecaps for Thanksgiving. It's what's on the menu.
