you are listening to the baby Faces on iHeart Radio.
Hey guys, this is ww Superstar Timpany Strun and you're
listening to the baby Faces on iHeartRadio. What's going on, y'all?
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Is WWE Superstar Kobe Kingston and you're listening to the
Babyfaces on iHeart Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Babby all Lego, Ethan page Man.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Thank you for taking the time. My name is Austin.
I'm out of Louisville, Kentucky, huge wrestling fan. I'm a
host of the Babyfaces Podcast on iHeartRadio, the official for
wrestling podcast of iHeartRadio. I had a couple questions because
I know we want to get you out of here quick.
The current NXT North American Championship. You've called the North
American Championship the most prestigious title in NXT, even above
(00:59):
the NX Championship and the US Championship. How do you
plan to keep elevating the Tigers legacy and as being
the champ of three entire countries.
Speaker 4 (01:10):
So first and foremost was the name of this show.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
It is the Babyfaces Podcast.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Okay, Well, you chose the wrong person to interview and
then your next question.
Speaker 4 (01:21):
Sorry, your first question.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Was about the North American Championship and why it's the
most prestigious and how I planned to keep it.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Absolutely yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I mean you might as well ask for my life story.
It's a mouthful of a question. Well, I will do
anything and everything just like I did to win it,
to keep it. So the strategy kind of stays the
same as far as prestige. I mean, you saw what
I did at World's Collide. I was able to defeat
(01:51):
and pin a Mexican luchrador from triple A. I have
defeated and pinned Americans from the US US. I am
a Canadian born athlete, so I'm trying to cover my
bases as far as all of the countries involved in
North America. I've also been educated that there are twenty
(02:12):
three countries in North America. Me as an ignorant human being,
I will only acknowledge the three countries that I care about,
which are Canada, America in Mexico. So to the other
twenty countries, don't care, kiss my butt. So I will
focus on those three countries and athletes from those three
(02:34):
countries and continue to defeat people from those countries to
add to the list of athletes that I've been able
to topple. And I'm trying to continue to be the
greatest North American in North America and give the greatest
lineage of competitors while I defend this championship, and I
(02:55):
don't think it's to be the longest reigning. I just
think it's as much work done as I can Wild Champion,
obviously hoping to keep it forever, but we'll see.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Now. Obviously that would be awesome. We certainly wish you
a long title reign. You have definitely brought some prestige
to it. Us here on the Baby Faces. We're big
fans of people that show their character on screen. You
look like you have no problem doing that, So we're
definitely fans of you over here, and we'd love to
see continued success in what you do in carrying that
NXT North American Championship. I want to talk about your
(03:29):
surprise or turn to TNA to confront Frankie Kazarian and
you inserted yourself into the TNA World Heavyweight champ or
in the World Championship match. It's such a big moment.
How did it feel to step back into a TNA ring,
and are there any other old rivals that you'd probably
like to go toe to toe with in this WWETNA partnership, So.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
To step back in the TNA ring, I think they're
Statistically that was the first time I'd ever been in
a TNA ring, even though I'm the longest reigning Impact
Tag Team champion company history. The name change of the
company happened after I had left, so it was actually
very cool for me to return when they were back
(04:09):
to the Redding Yellow and the TNA.
Speaker 4 (04:13):
So I was an Impact wrestler by a TNA fan,
so now.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
To be able to wrestle under that logo for the
championship in the main event of a pay per view,
it was very cool.
Speaker 4 (04:24):
I was happy with the result.
Speaker 2 (04:26):
You know, things worked out for me a few weeks
after that when I won an North American championship, so
here we are.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Absolutely it's all about getting exposure and the way that
you're on TV kind of setting yourself out and just
like you said, just not being in the exact Impact
ring distill the brand and seeing you back there was
pretty cool to see. I want to kind of switch
back to an unforgettable moment that you've had. You probably
answered this question a lot, but you had a segment
with the Rock on NXT and you said it was
a dream come true. You being a lifelong fan, almost
(04:53):
going through your head when you realize you're sitting there
talking to the people's champ, the great One, and did
he have I've been to pull you aside and give
you an advice anything that's stuck with you from that moment, So.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
I pull him.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
I pulled him aside. I didn't give him advice, but
I definitely wanted to pick his brain and mostly just
expressed to him.
Speaker 4 (05:17):
What the day and moment.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Kind of meant for me as far as a kid
envisioning seeing himself and like you know, ethan page on
character with the number one wrestler growing up, so that
was a thing.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Of dreams for me.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
So to be able to actually see it come true
was very cool and surreal. So I just wanted to
tell him what it meant to me in the whole experience,
and thirty minutes later I ended up having a great
chat with him get some fantastic advice, and I've been
pretty much unstaffable ever since, so we could give a
little bit of credit to the final Boss for ironically
(05:56):
making my ego even bigger somehow, which is crazy, but yeah,
you could blame him.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
It was a moment. Though. We'll probably stick out at
an xt Lore for a while. It was not too
long after you got there too, so you still are
continuing to make a name for yourself. I also kind
of want to switch to something. Are my co host here,
Brian mister Vigilanti talks. He's not able to make it,
but he is a huge fan of you and your
YouTube channel. He's a big collector. He wanted to ask
(06:26):
you your YouTube channel brought so many collectors in the
professional wrestling world and really help expose you to much
larger audience in today's day and age in social media.
He misses you on YouTube, Ethan. He wants to know
if you're going to be back on making regular videos.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
I appreciate him being a fan and for asking. He
would not be the only one I would say about daily.
I get asked online in person in the comments my
YouTube still gets viewed on a daily basis. Will it
ever come back? I don't want to say no. Am
I ready to do that? Like what you just said,
(07:01):
Daily grind absolutely not. I For me, right now, the
main focus is being the best ww superstar I can
and I truly believe that right now I am one
of the best ww superstars that you can watch on
any of our shows. So I want to keep focusing
on that and continue to focus on that. But I
am an artist. I love creating content, I do love collecting,
(07:26):
so I don't.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Think it's going to be the last video that's uploaded
on my channel ever.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
So I had this last question was wanting to run
through my mind. Ethan, there's been buzz one line, your
name has been floated out of possibly joining the main
roster and into a major stable. Without spilling too much,
what do you think all ego can bring to the WWWEE.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Oh, I mean I've pretty much shown that the second
you put me on screen, it's gonna be magic. I
don't think I've had a single bad match since coming
to WWE. I don't think I've had a single bad
place or what people like to call a segment. Literally,
the second I walk out there, you're in.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
For a good time.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
I don't think there's a scenario that I would not
shine in, thrive in, or make the most of So
for me, it's all about the money. I don't care
what show I'm on, who I'm wrestling, what championships I'm
fighting for. Like I said, with the North American Championship,
I will make it the most prestigious title in NXT
(08:29):
or WWE overall, depending on how far I'm willing to
take it.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
No doubter is over here, Ethan. Thank you so much
for joining us. It's NXT North American Champion all ego,
Ethan page here in the baby Faces Podcast. Ethan, you
have yourself a great dam and we wish you a
lot of future success.
Speaker 4 (08:45):
My friend, thank you. I will have a great day.
Take care.
